A TECO power failure lasting almost two hours late this afternoon didn’t help, either. A high cloud cover during the nighttime kept my overnight low (43°) a little higher than first forecasted, but that very same cloud cover during the daytime kept my daytime high down to 59° at my South Tampa location. Then with the wind coming out of the northwest all daylong, and the “feels-like” temperature was even colder. The windblown air coming off the Bay waters was bone chilling. At the time of this “now” report at 5:15 PM EST, the sky is cloudy, the temperature is a very chilly 57°, yet the good news of the cloud cover suggests the overnight temperature might remain above 40° again.

Despite the forecast of milder temperatures from the local meteorologists, summer-like weather continues with vengeance, with an overnight low of 75° and an eventual hot-humid daytime high of 94° today at my South Tampa location. |

After an overnight low of 77°, daybreak brought overcast skies and a slow warming, with a daytime high of 90°....as tropical weather south of here is affecting the weather at my South Tampa location. |

After an overnight low of 73° and a lot of uncertainty during the night, daybreak brought what first looked like more uncertainty and breezy air, some grey clouds, then clearing skies, with an eventual humid daytime high of 90° during mid afternoon. At the time of this “now” report at 5:00 PM EDT; the temperature is below 90 degrees, and there’s evidence of some rain activity nearby. The good news: There isn’t any tropical weather heading towards my South Tampa location!

After a day of tropical weather fatigue on Wednesday and a sudden unexpected rainfall Wednesday night, and an overnight low of 72°, daybreak today brought what has turned out to be a very pleasant breezy day, with a brief daytime high of only 85°…void of any tropical weather threats at my South Tampa location.
