Observation Date Observation Time Precipitation Snowfall Snowfall SWE Snow Depth Snow SWE Notes
10/1/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a very pleasant cool overnight low of 65°, daybreak brought clear blue skies and more mild air lasting all day long, with a daytime high of 83°. At the time of this “now” report at 5:15PM EDT, today’s daytime weather remains much the same. Note: The total rainfall for the month of September at my location was 8.59” and the total rainfall for this year is 58.27”.
10/2/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant cool overnight low of 67°, daybreak brought sunshine & blue skies, no evidence of any rain anywhere all day long, and a daytime high of 87°. At the time of this "now" report at 5:20PM EDT, the weather is much the same.
10/3/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 69°, daybreak brought sunshine and a hint of late summer like weather, with a daytime high of 88°.
10/4/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Late summer-like temperatures returned overnight, with an overnight low of 73°, then daybreak brought sun and more humid heat that lasted all day long, with a daytime high of 90°. All that’s absent in this summer like weather formula is rainfall. At the time of this “now” report at 4:30 PM EDT, little has changed.
10/5/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a summer-like overnight low of 77°, daybreak brought more summer-like weather, with a daytime high of 92°, with no evidence of any change anytime soon. One thing is certain; other than occasional rain relating to changes in weather systems, the rainy season is over.
10/6/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After another summer-like warm-humid overnight low of 77°, daybreak brought more humidity and summer-like searing heat, with a daytime high of 94°. It’s as though August has returned with vengeance, absent the rainfall. This months average daytime high temperature (88.8°) at my South Tampa location is higher right now than the September daytime average of 88.2°. Hopefully, that’ll soon change.
10/7/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another summer-like night with a temperature of 81° at midnight, with an overnight low of only 77°, followed with even more daytime searing-humid heat, with a daytime high reaching 93° at mid afternoon at my South Tampa location. All at a time when the rainy season is obviously over.
10/8/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Yet another night of summer-like heat, with a brief overnight low of 75°, followed with more daytime searing heat and humidity lasting all day long and a daytime high of 92° lasting late into the afternoon. Other than the absence of rainfall, this is much like late August weather right now. It's as though we're gradually going from four seasons to two seasons down here in the sub tropics. All the more reason to believe Al Gore might be onto something.
10/9/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Last nights temperature was like a sauna, with a steamy-humid overnight low of 80°, followed with more hot-steamy weather all day long today, reaching a daytime high of 94° during the early afternoon that lasted all day long. A TECO power failure lasting almost two hours late this afternoon didn’t help, either. Absent rainfall now that the rainy season is over and there's little relief right now from this unusual heat-wave.
10/10/2009 7:00 AM 0.03 M M M M After yet another warm-humid night with a temperature of 80° at midnight, a brief predawn rain shower lowered the overnight temperature down to 78° briefly, then daybreak brought more humid-hot air all day long, with a daytime high reaching 93° during the early afternoon, lasting all day long.
10/11/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Summer-like weather continues, with an overnight low of 77°, followed by a daytime high of 93° that continued all afternoon.
10/12/2009 7:00 AM 0.91 M M M M Yet another warm-humid summer-like night, with some rainfall mixed in, then more hot-humid searing daytime heat lasting all day long. All the while home plate is covered with snow in Colorado.
10/13/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The summer-like weather of 2009 continues, with a warm-humid overnight low of 76°, followed with another typical summer-like day of searing heat and humidity, as the daytime high reached 91° right after noontime. And that’s in the cool-shady part of my yard. The daytime and overnight average (90.5°/74.8°) temperatures for the first 13 days of this month have been warmer than in the months of August and September at my location.
10/14/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Much like the last 13 days this month, with another summer-like overnight low of 78°, and a daytime high of 91°...as the hot-humid-searing heat beats down relentlessly…with an obvious absence of rainfall.
10/15/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Last night was much like all the past 14 nights, with a warm-humid summer-like low of 76°, followed with more summer-like daytime heat, as the daytime temperature reached 91° during mid afternoon. Despite the forecasts of cooler weather arriving soon, little has changed outside, other than a slight change in the air and some spotty rainfall not far away. At least for now, the average daytime high and low for the month of October is 90.1°/75.5°.
10/16/2009 7:00 AM 1.25 M M M M After a warm-humid night much like all the others this month, and an overnight low of 76° after a predawn rainstorm, daybreak brought mostly clouds and more infrequent rainfall, with a warm-humid daytime high of 83°.
10/17/2009 7:00 AM 0.76 M M M M After more summer-like humid-warm air on Friday night, sometime during the predawn hours today the temperature dropped down to 63° as a cool-front passed through, then daybreak saw a lot of clouds and windy air, with a brief daytime high of only 71°. Finally!
10/18/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M After a very cool overnight low of 53°, not seen since March earlier this year, daybreak brought clear blue skies, brisk cool gusting air, and a daytime high of only 67°.
10/19/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M While Tampa reported a record low temperature of 48° for this date overnight, at my location it was only a chilly 52° overnight, and daybreak brought lots of sunshine and a daytime high of 72°.
10/20/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 60°, daybreak brought warmer weather, with a daytime high of 80°, and evidence that our current taste of autumn is already over.
10/21/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 66°, the bliss of daytime autumn weather is turning back into summer-like weather all over again, after a daytime warm-humid high of 84° today. After all the promise and wait, autumn so far this year was very brief.
10/22/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M The shortest autumn ever, lasting less than 72 hours, and now we’re back in the summer-like weather funk, less the rainfall, with an overnight low of 70° and a daytime high of 85° at my South Tampa location. Al Gore is obviously onto something.
10/23/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Summer-like weather, less the rainfall, continues night and day, day after day, with an overnight low of 73° and a daytime high of 88°.
10/24/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M 70° overnight and 88° for a daytime high today on Saturday, with little evidence of any change anytime soon. Why'd they call this a cold front?
10/25/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It wasn’t a cold front, it was a cool-front, and it did travel this far, fooling even the TV meteorologists as it brought a pleasant overnight low of 62° and a daytime high of only 79° to my South Tampa location today.
10/26/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a very pleasant overnight low of 60°, summer-like weather began returning slowly yet again at sunrise, with a daytime high of 87° during mid afternoon.
10/27/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M Much of the same as summer-like weather continues, with an overnight low of 76° and a daytime high of 88°. It’s as though we’re trapped in a summer-like weather funk that has no end. Yet this isn’t the first time we’re gone into November with weather like this, therefore it isn’t unusual. What isn’t usual is all the different weather mixtures we’ve already experienced this year, and the year isn’t over yet. It’s the winter weather that’s forecasted to bring even more surprises. It'll be at about that time when we'll wish this weather today was back.
10/28/2009 7:00 AM 0.91 M M M M After a much needed rain downpour early last night and a pleasant overnight low of 73°, daybreak brought warm-humid air and a daytime high of 87°. Is this extreme? Of course not, and 60 days from now we’ll be wishing for this weather back.
10/29/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M More summer-like weather after an overnight low of 75° and a daytime high today of 90° at my South Tampa location.
10/30/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a record daytime high in Tampa on Thursday, more summer-like weather with an overnight low of 75° and a daytime high today of 90° at my South Tampa location.
10/31/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Yet another summer-like night and day in South Tampa, with an overnight low of 74° and a daytime high today of 88°.
11/1/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M More late summer-like weather on the last day of October and the first day of November as the a/c continues running, with an overnight low of 73° and a daytime high of 85° at my South Tampa location. Footnote: last months average daytime high and low temperatures were 85.9°/71.1° at my location. Warmer than 2008 (84°/66°) and cooler than 2007 (86°/73°). Therefore, last month wasn’t unusual.
11/2/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a brief pleasant overnight low of 63°, warm-humid air returned today with a daytime high of 82°.
11/3/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 65°, daybreak brought more humid air that turned a daytime high of 79° into something feeling so much warmer. I never imagined I’d still be running the a/c this late in the year.
11/4/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It might be November, yet it feels like late September, with an overnight low of 68° and a daytime high of 85° at my South Tampa location.
11/5/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another pleasant overnight low in the high 60’s, followed with another daytime high in the low 80’s. This I’m comfortable with. It’s the tropical weather south-west of here that troubles me now because these November storms are so unpredictable.
11/6/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Much like the last 5 days, it still feels like late summer-like weather, less the rainfall.
11/8/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 66° and a daytime high of 81°, today’s weather is like no other for the month of November as we experience tropical storm-like weather.
11/9/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 70° and a windy daytime high of 80°, tropical storm anxiety is finally easing, thank God.
11/10/2009 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M After a breezy overnight low of 72°, daybreak brought a rollercoaster of weather and a daytime high of 80°, as wind, rain, and humidity were the mixtures of the day. Ira might be gone, but something’s still going on out there.
11/11/2009 7:00 AM 0.65 M M M M Another 24 hours of rollercoaster weather, with a mixture of wind, rain, and much cooler air arriving, after an overnight low of 71° and a daytime high of 77° today. Never a dull moment when it comes to weather this year.
11/12/2009 7:00 AM 0.11 M M M M Another rollercoaster weather day, with light rain and an overnight low of 59°, followed with an overcast sky and windy weather, with a little rain mist included in the weather mix at daybreak, and a daytime high of 65° after the skies finally cleared during the early afternoon. Near the water and it’s still very cool. Inland, and it’s a little nicer. At the time of this “now” report at 4:30 PM EST, little has changed.
11/13/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M After more than a few days of rollercoaster weather here at my south Tampa location, the overnight weather was much what I expected (52°), and the daytime weather today was a little more predictable and pleasant (72°). At the time of this “now” report at 5:15 PM EST, the sky is clear, and the dry air temperature is already falling quickly…as the sun begins to disappear in the west.
11/14/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The weeklong rollercoaster weather ended last night, with a comfortable overnight low of 58° and a pleasant daytime high of 75° today…a day filled with sunshine, a light sea breeze and mild autumn weather. Unlike what we were facing just one week ago, to say today was like a day in paradise; it was!
11/15/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another day in paradise after an overnight low of 55° and a daytime high of 75° today. At the time of this “now” report at 4:50 PM EST, little has changed as the weather remains wonderful...
11/16/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another day in paradise, after an overnight low of 56° and a daytime high of 76°, with a sky so clear I could see the Space Shuttle liftoff today from afar while I stood on the shoreline of Hillsborough Bay near my South Tampa location..
11/17/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another day in paradise after an overnight low of 59° and a daytime high of 77°.
11/18/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another day in paradise, with a comfortable overnight low of 60° and a very pleasant daytime high of 77°. Won’t get any better than what it is right now.
11/19/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Lovely weather, with a pleasant overnight low of 60° and a radiant sunshiny daytime high of 77°. Splendid weather once more!
11/20/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M One more day of paradise-like weather, with an overnight low of 60° and a daytime high of 74°, as a subtle change is now taking place. Wishing for some rain? You might get more than what you wished for. And it won’t be long and we’ll be wishing that October-like weather was back.
11/21/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 65°, daybreak briefly brought more paradise-like weather, with a daytime high of 77°, but by early afternoon that oh so subtle weather change I wrote of yesterday became more obvious today…as a cloud cover overtook clear blue skies, and now there’s subtle hints of possible rain not far away, proving to be the leading edge of colder weather not far behind. By this time next week, the weather we’ve enjoyed over the last 10 days will be but a memory, as much cooler weather is heading our way. By next weekend our overnight low tonight might be our daytime high next Saturday.
11/22/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 69°, daybreak brought a brief look of sunshine, then dark clouds in the west brought a hint of change during the early afternoon and a daytime high of 82°, as uncertainty begins to grow. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, the radar shows a band of rain moving in off the Gulf of Mexico not far from my location, indicating there’s a change coming soon.
11/23/2009 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M A little rain sprinkle during the early evening last night and a pleasant overnight low of 67°, then daybreak today that brought more pleasant weather and a daytime high of 80° extended the mild weather we’ve been blessed with this month.
11/24/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 68°, daybreak today brought fog filled air, overcast skies, and finally rain, with a humid daytime high of 79° during the early afternoon before the rain began. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST; the sky is covered with dark clouds over my South Tampa location, the rain has briefly ended, and the radar screen indicates there’s more rain on the horizon out over the Gulf of Mexico. So cheers because we can report some rain tomorrow, yet by this weekend we’ll already be wishing for warmer weather to return.
11/25/2009 7:00 AM 0.41 M M M M After rainfall early yesterday evening and a pleasant overnight low of 69°, daybreak brought a sudden rain downpour that lasted past noon, followed with a little mist rain that kept the daytime high temperature down to 70°, only a one degree change since daybreak. At the time of this “now” report at 4:45 PM EST, the current temperature is 69° at my South Tampa location, and there’s a rain mist still falling as more rain clouds move in off the Gulf of Mexico. Today’s weather has certainly been a plan spoiler.
11/26/2009 7:00 AM 1.11 M M M M After a rain filled day yesterday and an overnight low of 61° at my South Tampa location, daybreak brought clearing skies and milder weather, with a daytime high of 68° during the early afternoon before a cloud cover moved in. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, the sky is a mixture of more clouds than sun, and the temperature is beginning to feel much cooler as the sun begins to slip over the horizon. Note: The total yearly rainfall (64.19”) as of today at my South Tampa location has now exceeded that of the last seven (7) years….at my location.
11/27/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a chilly overnight low of 47°, daybreak brought clear blue skies and a pleasant cool day, with a daytime high of 62°. At the time of this “now” report at 5:30 PM EST, as the sun settles in the west, the feel of cold is in the air.
11/28/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a very chilly overnight low of 48°, daybreak brought more chilly weather under overcast skies, and not until during mid afternoon when there was a brief parting of the clouds did we finally experience a daytime high of 62°. At the time of this “now” report at 5:24 PM EST, the weather still feels chilly as the temperature has fallen down to 58°, and the sky remains overcast, as the sun is quickly setting in the west. The good news: The overcast cloud cover is our savior for holding the temperature from falling even more.
11/29/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a very chilly night when the temperature dived down into the high 40’s long before midnight, resulting in an overnight low of 47° at my South Tampa location, daybreak brought clear blue skies, warm sunshine, calm air, and rapid warming, with a pleasant daytime high of 71° during the early afternoon, lasting all day long. At the time of this “now” report at 5:13 PM EST as the sun slowing slips into the west, the weather remains quite pleasant.
11/30/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a cool overnight low of 54°, daybreak brought sunshine and warmer weather, with a brief daytime high of 72° before a cloud cover moved overhead at my South Tampa location. At the time of this “now” report at 5:39 PM EST, the sun has already slipped into the west and the air is turning cooler already.
12/1/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a cool yet pleasant overnight low of 62°, daybreak brought warming and partial sunshine, with a daytime high of 77° at noontime, as troubling weather continues to travel towards my South Tampa location, as El Nino begins to turn against us. At the time of this “now” report at 7:20 PM EST, there’s an eerie feeling of change out there.
12/2/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 68°, daybreak brought wind and heavy cloud cover, and a daytime high of 81°, as some very ugly weather moves towards this direction. At the time of this “now” report at 5:18 PM EST, little has changed as some brief fast-moving rain has already passed over my South Tampa location, as an eerie look remains out there.
12/3/2009 7:00 AM 0.79 M M M M After a rain filled stormy night last night that brought wind, rain, uncertainty and all sorts of weather warnings way past midnight to my South Tampa location, daybreak brought some welcomed calm relief as the sun finally broke through the clouds and for at least a few hours all seemed right once more. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, little has changed…at least for now.
12/4/2009 7:00 AM 0.08 M M M M The overnight weather wasn’t anything to write home about as some brief fast moving rain clouds passed by and by daybreak the day was already turning into a Stephen King novel, as dark clouds, windblown cold rain, and bone chilling air blanketed my South Tampa location, with much of the same continuing all day long. At the time of this “now” report at 3:55 PM EST, little has changed, as more cold windblown rain and 58 degree air turns this into a crappy day. Footnote: The overnight low (60°) was warmer than the current temperature (58°), with the daytime high of 63° taking place at 7 AM EST.
12/5/2009 7:00 AM 1.24 M M M M After 24 hours of cold windblown rainfall that began during the mid morning yesterday and lasted all the way past daybreak today, the forecast of sunshine this afternoon never took place, as the cold front that produced snow in Texas brought wind, cold and a heavy gray cloud cover over my South Tampa location, as I experienced a brief daytime high of 61° at 9 AM EST this morning, before the temperature began to retreat once more. At the time of this “now” report at 8 PM EST, the sky is finally beginning to clear, and the air has become calmer, as the temperature outside begins to plummet.
12/6/2009 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M After a windy-cold overnight low of 44° at my South Tampa location, with the skies beginning to partially clear just before midnight, daybreak brought a very brief beam of sunshine, as an unexpected cloud cover suddenly and quickly spoiled the promise of clearing skies for today before the sun had a chance to rise above the tree-tops. Then as much of the same followed all afternoon long, the daytime high finally peaked at 61° sometime during the late afternoon. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, little has changed.
12/7/2009 7:00 AM 0.03 M M M M After a gradual nighttime warming and a pre-dawn rain mist, with an overnight low of 59°, daybreak brought more heavy cloud cover and more rain mist, and not until late afternoon with the daytime high finally reaching 72° did the clouds finally clear briefly, sending some very welcomed sunshine down on my South Tampa location. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, a cloud cover has returned, as the air remains mild and a little more humid. To say these constant mixtures of weather change over the last few days are unusual, at least for me they are, because as a weather watcher, I haven’t seen anything like this before at this time of the year…
12/8/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M After an overnight low of 67°, daybreak brought promise of some sunshine, and as the day progressed, clouds of overcast surrendered to clear blue skies, with a pleasant daytime high of 76°. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, the sky is still clear, the air is calm, and at least for now, it’s a beautiful day outside at my South Tampa location.
12/9/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It is as though El Nino is turning on us with vengeance, as the weather continues to change almost hourly…from foggy to overcast to foggy again to cloudy to briefly sunny back to dark overcast, then warm again then much cooler again…with a lot of wind, with a mixture of moisture in between. And some of that wind and moisture has been more than a little annoying. That’s what I’ve been experiencing here at my South Tampa location daily since late November.
12/10/2009 7:00 AM 0.04 M M M M It has been a rollercoaster of weather here at my South Tampa location during the last 24 hours, as we’ve gone from warm to cold in merely a matter of hours, with an unusual mixture of fog, then late morning rain, then wind and more rain again as nighttime is almost here at the time of this “now” report at 5:15 PM EST, as bone chilling rainfall has begun again. It’s as though El Nino has turned on us with vengeance.
12/11/2009 7:00 AM 0.06 M M M M The El Nino rollercoaster weather continues here at my South Tampa location, with a windy-cool and cloudy overnight low of 54°, and all day today little changed with much of the same, as cold air blew off the bay waters, as the sky was mostly dark and grey, as the daytime high reached 63° briefly today. At the time of this “now” report at 5:30 PM EST today, with the sun already set in the west, a cold wind continues to blow as the skies remain dark and grey, with little change ahead until at least daybreak on Saturday.
12/12/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M After an El Nino all day Friday, and a very cool night after sunset, the temperature suddenly began to rise not long after midnight, and by sunrise today it was already as warm as yesterdays daytime high of 63° at my South Tampa location, as sunshine finally prevailed until early afternoon when clouds slowly began to return once more, with a daytime high of 76°. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, little has changed, as warm-humid air, a light breeze, and a lot of cloud cover dominates the weather right now.
12/13/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 63°, daybreak brought a mixture of fog, clouds, and humid damp cool air, then soon after noontime, grey clouds gave way to sunshine and blue skies, with a daytime high of 80°. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, little has changed as pleasant warm weather and sunshine prevails.
12/14/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a seldom seen (this month) clear sky covered with stars overnight and a low of 68° at my South Tampa location, daybreak brought fog that lasted late into the morning, then by noontime the fog gave way to sunshine and clear blue skies that lasted all afternoon long, with calm air and a daytime high of 78°. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, nothing has changed, as a rare day of beautiful weather continues even now.
12/15/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a clear star filled sky last night and an overnight low of 67°, daybreak brought a morning of thick fog that quickly gave way to clear blue skies during mid morning, and a daytime high of 78°, as I enjoyed at least one more brief beautiful December day here at my South Tampa location today. At the time of this “now” report at 5:25 PM EST, little has changed, as clear skies and warm-calm pleasant weather continues.
12/16/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 65° and a daytime high of 76° early today, it’s now obvious that there’s a change taking place out there, as the wind is shifting direction, with cooler air gradually replacing warmer air, as the future forecast points to winter-like weather arriving soon. At the time of this “now” report at 4:45 PM EST, the sky is partly cloudy, the air is breezy and much cooler, as we experience what might be the last autumn-like day before Winter officially arrives on Monday.
12/17/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a cool overnight low of 61°, daybreak brought evidence of change, with windy and cloudy conditions, and an eventual daytime high of 73°. At the time of this “now” report at 4:25 PM EST, fast moving clouds and much cooler air continue here at my South Tampa location as the pleasant weather of earlier this week is but a memory today….as the beginning of winter nears.
12/18/2009 7:00 AM 0.07 M M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 68° and some predawn rainfall, daybreak brought dark skies, windy weather, more rainfall, fast moving clouds, and a daytime high of 73° soon after lunchtime, as evidence of change accelerated today. At the time of this “now” report at 5:30 PM EST, little has changed, as fast moving clouds and cooler air prevail.
12/19/2009 7:00 AM 0.18 M M M M After a very windy-cool overnight low of 55°, daybreak brought more wind and a lot of cloud cover, with very little sunshine during most parts of the day, with a daytime high of 65° that took place during the morning, yet feeling much colder because of the wind, with little change until 5 PM. At the time of this “now” report at 5:15 PM EST, the temperature is 63°, the wind has diminished a little, and the clouds are thinning more….evidence that cold air is near.
12/20/2009 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M After an overnight low of 52° and a daytime high of 63° today, the temperature is falling much quicker now, as the wind blown air feels even colder than what the thermometer reads right now (55° @ 5 PM EST).
12/21/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M A high cloud cover during the nighttime kept my overnight low (43°) a little higher than first forecasted, but that very same cloud cover during the daytime kept my daytime high down to 59° at my South Tampa location. Then with the wind coming out of the northwest all daylong, and the “feels-like” temperature was even colder. The windblown air coming off the Bay waters was bone chilling. At the time of this “now” report at 5:15 PM EST, the sky is cloudy, the temperature is a very chilly 57°, yet the good news of the cloud cover suggests the overnight temperature might remain above 40° again.
12/22/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a very cool overnight low of 48°, daybreak brought more cold air and cloudy skies, colder-longer than yesterday…on a day I was promised warming. Then it wasn’t until earlier in the afternoon when the skies finally began turning sunny, and not until late afternoon when the temperature finally reached 63° briefly. At the time of this “now” report at 5:25 PM EST, as the sun is setting in the west, it’s already turning cooler again.
12/23/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a cool overnight low of 53°, daybreak brought brief clear skies and sunshine…lasting until 10 AM, when a high-thin cloud cover spoiled what was supposed to be a sunny day, and before the sun had a chance to warm the daytime air, cooler-breezier air dominated the rest of the day, with a daytime high only reaching 69° at my South Tampa location. At the time of this “now” report at 4:30 PM EDT, the temperature is already beginning to fall, as thicker clouds begin to fill the sky.
12/24/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a cool overnight low of 59°, daybreak brought brief sunshine and warming air, as yet another high level cloud cover slowly moved in over the Tampa Bay area during mid morning, and by mid afternoon when the daytime high reached 74°, the cloud cover and obvious weather change turned the day gloomy. At the time of this “now” report at 5:30 PM, the sky is gray, the wind is increasing, and there’s all the clues that indicate that we’re in for some crappy weather soon. Then looking out over the South Tampa bay waters and I can already see the change on the horizon.
12/25/2009 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M After an overnight low of 68°, daybreak brought dark clouds, windy weather and rainfall…lasting all morning long. The afternoon weather wasn’t any better, as dark clouds and windy cool air prevailed, with a brief daytime high of 72°. A crappy weather day, indeed. At the time of this “now” report at 5:15 PM EST, little has changed, as the temperature has already dropped down to 66°. El Nino has turned cruel.
12/26/2009 7:00 AM 0.12 M M M M After a cool overnight low of 53°, daybreak brought cloudy skies that briefly gave way to sunshine during mid morning, and by the time noon passed, the clouds returned, after a brief daytime high of 63°. At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, the sky is covered with gray clouds, the air is very cool and windy, the temperature is falling, and there’s evidence of rain and cold air across the horizon. For anyone trying to future forecast this weather, it’s nearly impossible because it’s been changing almost hourly all month long. Trying to rely on the 5 day forecasts right now is frustrating.
12/27/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a very cool overnight low of 51°, daybreak brought little change, as thick dark clouds and windy cool air dominated the day, with a daytime high of only 58° at my South Tampa location….five degrees lower than the daytime forecast for my location. At the time of this “now” report at 4:45 PM EST; little has changed, as the temperature is already falling again. Just as disappointing, the five day weather forecasts coming from many of the weather forecasters are changing faster than the scores at football games right now, indicating that even the professional weather forecasters are baffled with this weather right now. Only through the blessing of the cloud covers overnight have the nighttime temperatures remained a little higher than what the forecasts have predicted.
12/28/2009 7:00 AM T M M M M After a very chilly overnight low of 50° at my South Tampa location, daybreak brought sunshine and brief calm air, as the affects of a cold front soon dominated the day around noontime…as windy air during the afternoon soon reminded us once more that winter is still here, despite a brief daytime high of 66°. At the time of this “now” report at 5:30 PM EST; the sky is clear, the air is windy and cold, and the temperature is already plummeting…as the sun sets in the west. It’s as though we went from Autumn to Winter in just a matter of hours today.
12/29/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a cold overnight low of 39°, daybreak brought clear blue skies and lots of bright sunshine, with a brief yet pleasant daytime high of 60° during mid afternoon at my South Tampa location. 12/30/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a chilly overnight low of 47°, daybreak brought sunshine, warmer calm air that lasted all day long, with a daytime high of 70° at my South Tampa location. A very pleasant day, indeed! At the time of this “now” report at 5:30 PM EST, the sky is clear, the air is mild and calm, as the sun slowly disappears over the horizon.
12/31/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 57°, daybreak brought cloudy skies all day long and a daytime high of 74°, as the weather is again changing quickly.
1/1/2010 7:00 AM 0.15 M M M M After an overnight low of 63° and some pre-dawn rainfall, daybreak brought more rainfall and dark skies and a brief daytime high of 67° long before noontime in what turned out to be a crappy New Years Day. At the time of this “now” report at 5:45 PM EST, the sky remains cloudy, as the sun sets into the west as the temperature is already plummeting down into the low 50‘s.
1/2/2010 7:00 AM 0.15 M M M M After a very cool overnight low of 40°, daybreak brought sunshine and clear blue skies, and a brief daytime high of 58° during mid afternoon. At the time of this “now” report at 5:40 PM EST, the temperature is plummeting as the sun disappears into the west.
1/3/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a very chilly overnight low of 39° at my South Tampa location, daybreak brought disappointment when the skies were overcast without sunshine all day long, producing a brief daytime high of only 48° right after noontime, then retreating down to 45° for the remainder of the afternoon. At the time of this “now” report at 4:00 PM EST; nothing has changed, as the temperature remains at 45° right now. Absent the sunshine, I can best describe today as a very crappy day indeed.
1/4/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a cold overnight low of 36°, daybreak finally brought sunshine and a brief daytime high during the early afternoon of 53° at my South Tampa location. At the time of this “now” report at 4:30 PM EST, under clear skies, the temperature has already plummeted back down into the 40’s as the sun begins to slip down over the horizon.
1/5/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a not as cold as first predicted overnight low of 40°, thanks to an unexpected cloud cover , then daybreak brought more clouds with windy air and lower than expected temperatures, with a brief daytime high of 48° during the early afternoon soon after the sky cleared. At the time of this “now” report at my South Tampa location at 4:15 PM EST; the sky is clear and windy, and the temperature is already plummeting down into the low 40’s again.

At the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, the sky is clear, the air is cold and breezy as the sun begins to disappear in the west, as the temperature is already plummeting back down. Footnote: According to unnamed sources on TV today, Tampa recorded an official overnight low of 27° F for this date, and it may have set a new low temperature for this date (01/06/2010) in Tampa.
1/7/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 32° (the bird-bath water froze again), daybreak brought sunshine and a slow slight warming, as cold air continued to blow in off the Bay waters, with a brief daytime high of 57° during the early afternoon. At the time of this “now” report at 4:15 PM EST; the sky is still clear and the temperature is slowly falling, as the affects of the sunshine begin to diminish. Footnote: During the 28 years that I’ve been observing and recording weather here in South Tampa, I can’t ever remember the cold weather we’re experiencing right now lasting this long during one cold weather event. This one beginning on January 31, 2009, and still continuing without a clue when it’ll end.
1/8/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a colder than forecasted overnight low that dipped down to 41°, daybreak brought dark skies, windy cold air, a slight rainfall, and a brief daytime high of 57° at my South Tampa location. At the time of this “now” report at 5:30 PM EST, the weather is very uncomfortable.
1/9/2010 7:00 AM 0.04 M M M M After a very cold over night low of 35° and the beginning of a light rainfall, daybreak brought dark skies, cold-windy air and more rainfall, and an eventual daytime high of only 38° here at my South Tampa location. At the time of this “now” report at 4 PM EST; the temperature is 38° and looking out towards the horizon and it looks like the sky will soon be clearing, with little else changing, other than the temperature dropping. To echo what a TV weather forecaster predicted for today, this has truly been a miserable day.
1/10/2010 7:00 AM 0.13 M M M M After a bone chilling overnight low of 29° at my South Tampa location, daybreak brought clearing skies, windy cold air, and a brief daytime high of 45°. Down by the bayside shoreline, the wind blown air coming off the water was brutally cold all day long. At the time of this “now” report, little has changed as the temperature is already plummeting, with today not feeling any warmer than yesterday.
1/11/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a bone chilling cold night with what turned out to be a record setting low temperature in the Tampa Bay area (28° here at my South Tampa location), daybreak brought clear skies yet more disappointment because the daytime temperature only reached 48° at my location, despite what the professional weather forecasters had predicted. At the time of this “now” report at 4:25 PM EST, little has changed…with today being as cold as yesterday, as the temperature is already beginning to plummet again. So when will this ever end?
1/12/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After yet another overnight low of freezing temperatures (31°), daybreak brought clear skies, calm air, and a surprise sudden warming, reaching 40° at 9:15AM and 50° at 10AM and an eventual brief daytime high of 59° during the early afternoon. At the time of this “now” report at 4:30PM EST; the sky is still clear, the air is a little windy, and the temperature is 53°, falling a little slower than during the last previous 11 cold frigid days. To say this is a longer than usual cold weather event, it is….because tonight is going to get cold again.
1/13/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a colder than expected overnight low of 33°, daybreak brought more colder than expected temperatures…colder than yesterday after sunrise, and an eventual daytime high of only 58°. And now tonight you can throw out the earlier morning forecast of the TV weather talking heads because tonight’s low temperature has again been revised and we could see temperatures back in the high 30’s once more in the Tampa Bay area. And at the time of this “now” report at 5 PM EST, little has changed as the temperature slowly begins to plummet as the sun fades into the west. Footnote: The daytime/nighttime January 2010 temperature averages at my South Tampa location through today are: H 52.9° (f) / L 37.0° (f).

1/16/2010 7:00 AM T M M M M After a cool overnight low of 64°, daybreak brought dark overcast skies and windy-cool air that has lasted all day long and an eventual daytime high of 73°. At the time of this “now” report at 5:00 PM EST, the temperature is 71° yet it actually feels much cooler, with little else changing. No matter how you judge today’s weather, it failed to meet expectations.
1/17/2010 7:00 AM 1.36 M M M M After a night-long rain resulting in 1.36” of rainfall at my South Tampa location and an overnight low of 61°, daybreak brought clearing skies and gusty-windy weather, and an early afternoon daytime high of 72°. At the time of this “now” report at 4:30 PM EST; The sky is partly cloudy…with more sun than clouds, the air is still very windy, and the temperature is 68°, with little evidence of any sudden change. At the time of this “now” report at 5:30 PM EST at my South Tampa location; the sky is clear and windy, the temperature is 63° (while feeling much cooler), and it’s obvious it’s going to get colder overnight. Unfortunately how cold it’s going to get is a mystery because the forecasts, depending on who you rely on, are all over the place right now, indicating nothing is certain right now. So much for dependable weather forecasting.

4/26/2010 7:00 AM 2.01 M M M M Severe unexpected weather besieged my South Tampa location late yesterday evening and again soon after midnight, with pounding rainfall, strong winds, and an uncanny lightening storm after midnight that turned the night into a show of constant flashing light. My total rainfall for these two unprecedented events measured 2.01”. The good news: At sunrise this morning the sky was clear and not a clue of what had taken place hours earlier.

5/14/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Yet another hot-hot day at my South Tampa location, with a daytime high that briefly reached 94°. Now the humidity is beginning to rise again. And its still Spring.
5/15/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Its hot out there again today, with a daytime high of 93° at my South Tampa location. The lack of the usual seabreeze kicked up the humidity even more, too. If I were to factor in the "heat index", it feels like 100°. A clue what summer will bring?
5/16/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Thanks to some rain-clouds nearby today, the temperature didn't boil over, with a daytime high of 90°.

5/22/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It was a hot-hot 94° at my South Tampa location today. Then looking back over the last 4 years of my weather database; May of this year is already the hottest on record. More proof that Al Gore is onto something.
5/23/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another hot-hot day, with a daytime high of 95° at my South Tampa location. This could be another record hot month, and it's not even summer yet.
5/24/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another hot-hot day at my South Tampa location, with a daytime high of 94º as I write this report....And now with the first 2010 seasons tropical storm forming out in the Atlantic right now; I'm more than convinced that something’s out of sync out there this year.

5/31/2010 7:00 AM 0.08 M M M M The last day of May brought yet another hot-hot day to my South Tampa location, with a daytime high of 96° today. What’s actually happening far exceeds what the weather forecasters predict every night on the six o’clock news. The month of May might also set some hot-hot records, as my average temperatures (daytime average high 93.8° and average overnight low 73.4°) during May exceeded anything I’ve experienced during the last decade. The lack of rainfall, with less than an inch at my location during May, has also been a great disappointment. If anything is certain, something is out of kilter out there.
6/1/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another warmer than usual day today at my South Tampa location, with a daytime high of 96°. Over asphalt and concrete and the temperature was stifling.
6/2/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's been a hot-hot 97° at my South Tampa location today!
6/3/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a warm-humid overnight low of 77°, it was another rainless hot-hot daytime high of 97° at my South Tampa location today.
6/4/2010 7:00 AM 0.92 M M M M After a pounding overnight rainstorm that cooled the air just a little, daybreak brought steamy hot air, the after-effects of the earlier rainfall, and an eventual daytime high of 93° here at my South Tampa location.
6/5/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another hot-hot-steamy 96° at my South Tampa location today. And it's not even officially summer....yet!
6/6/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a humid-warm overnight low of 80° at my South Tampa location, daybreak brought more warm-humid air, with a hot-hot daytime high of 96°. The National Weather Service went on to report that today's heat-index in Tampa was above the 100° level, and might remain much the same over the next few days, with overnight tempertures staying above 80°. For those who don't believe in the Global Warming theory, what's your take on the weather, now?
6/7/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The overnight low only went down to 81° at my South Tampa location, at sunrise it was already sultry outside, and by early afternoon the daytime high was another hot-hot-steamy-humid 95°, with the heat index above 100° for the second day. If the temperature reading on the dashboard thermometer of my new car is any indicator of the extreme heat radiating off the concrete and asphalt as I drive in traffic throughout Tampa, it’s becoming extremely hot out there….
6/8/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After another warmer than usual overnight low of 79°, the daytime temperature today at my South Tampa location was already stifling by noontime, followed with a daytime high of 98° long before mid afternoon. The promise of heat relief by the TV weather forecasters never happened. So what’s happening out there?
6/10/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another hot-hot day without a sign of rain, with a daytime high of 98° at my South Tampa location today. Hey, it's hot out there!
6/11/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It was VERY warm this afternoon, with a daytime high of 100.6° at my South Tampa location. That was my actual temperature, then go figure the heat index….
6/12/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Unlike what the talking heads on the TV weather shows tell you, it's hot-hot here again at my South Tampa location, with a daytime high of 98° here today.
6/13/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another hot-hot day, with the daytime high reaching 100° at my South Tampa location for the second time this week. Thanks to a brief early evening rainfall tonight, I finally got a little relief from the stifling heat.
6/14/2010 7:00 AM 0.29 M M M M Another hot stifling day today at my South Tampa location, with a daytime high of 98°. The brief rainfall last night didn't even bring any relief.
6/15/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a steamy-stifling daytime start at daybreak that grew worse as the morning hours passed, an unexpected cloud cover suddenly appeared right after noontime, bringing the daytime temperature down to the high 80’s. Now at 5 PM EDT; the outside temperature is still below 90 degrees.
6/16/2010 7:00 AM T M M M M Daybreak brought more steamy heat past noon-time and after an afternoon high of 98°, a cloud-cover lowered the temperature back down below 90° for the second time this week. Nonetheless, the sauna nights continue.
6/17/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a brief welcomed overnight low of 77°, daybreak brought a little pause in the usual steamy heat, then by noontime the daytime high of 95° had already occurred, creating more stifling heat, before a sudden cloud cover brought the temperature back down to the low 90°’s for the rest of the afternoon. Despite the promise of less oppressive heat by the TV talking weather heads over the last few days, little has changed out there.
6/18/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a brief overnight low of 78°, daybreak brought hot baking heat and a daytime high of 97° at my South Tampa location. While the steamy part of the heat has lessened just a little, the heat and heat index hasn’t let up at all. So when will this unprecedented heat cycle end? After a private conversation with one of Tampa Bay areas leading TV weather meteorologists, not even the experts seem to know.
6/19/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 77°, daybreak brought more warm baking heat, with a brief daytime high of 94°, then a sudden cool-down when a surprise yet brief rainfall (.31”) took place, keeping the late afternoon temperature down below 90° at my South Tampa location today. The usual hot-steamy air of the last few weeks has also been replaced with something a little more pleasant both night and day the last few days..
6/20/2010 7:00 AM 0.31 M M M M It’s back to the oppressive heat cycle, with an overnight low of only 79°, followed with a hot-stifling 97° during the afternoon at my South Tampa location. All the while the professionals forecasted something cooler than the Bay waters. It’s as though the TV weather talking heads think we can’t stand the truth that something’s terribly out of kilter out there right now.
6/21/2010 7:00 AM T M M M M After an overnight low of 77°, daybreak and the first day of summer brought more searing heat and stifling air, with an eventual daytime high of 99.5° at my South Tampa location. Unlike the weather the TV weather talking heads try to make it look like; It’s no longer “another day in paradise” here anymore.
6/22/2010 7:00 AM 3.41 M M M M After an unexpected pounding rainstorm yesterday evening that brought the slow moving downpour and cooling air, a storm that caught even the TV weather experts off guard, followed with an overnight low of 72°, daybreak today brought milder air and an eventual daytime high of 92°, with little evidence of more rain today.
6/23/2010 7:00 AM 0.14 M M M M It's hot-hot out there today, with a searing daytime high of 95° at my South Tampa location.
6/24/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Yet another hot-hot steamy day, with a daytime high of 97° at my South Tampa location.
6/25/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a steamy overnight low of 80°, daybreak brought searing heat and a hot-hot-hot daytime high of 99° at my South Tampa location, today. And just to understand how hot it was out there yesterday, it was still 94° at TIA (Tampa’s official weather station) at 8 PM last night, and it was still 84° here at my location at midnight. And now one of the local TV talking heads has suddenly invented tropical jargon while trying to explain this latest weather to it’s viewers. Problem is, unless you agree with the Al Gore theory and me, there isn’t an easy explanation.
6/26/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M At midnight overnight the temperature was a steamy 86°, at daybreak it was 82°, and by early afternoon it was another searing hot-hot 99.5° at my South Tampa location. And yes, that temperature reading was recorded in the shade! So why do the TV weather talking heads continually fail to adjust their daily temperature predictions to reflect what’s actually taking place out there right now? If anyone want's to debate my temperature readings with me, you can do so by writing to me at; Bennett980@aol.com Thank you!
6/27/2010 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M After another warm overnight low of 80°, sunrise brought more hot-hot searing heat, with a daytime high of 97° at my South Tampa location. The night-time temperatures are now becoming just as annoying as the daytime searing heat....with little or no relief anytime, now.
6/28/2010 7:00 AM 0.24 M M M M Finally, after an unexpected cooling rainfall early yesterday evening, the nighttime and overnight low was finally in the low to mid 70’s, followed with some briefly milder temperatures during the early morning…before another hot daytime high of 94° returned during the mid afternoon. At least briefly; there was evidence of relief.
6/29/2010 7:00 AM 1.14 M M M M After an overnight low of 75°, thanks to an early evening rain downpour, then daybreak was a little milder with cloud cover overhead, followed by a brief daytime high of 93°. Nonetheless, this brief reprieve doesn’t negate news today that the temperatures during May and June have already been declared as all-time highs in the Tampa Bay area. Proof I haven’t been imagining this.
6/30/2010 7:00 AM 0.05 M M M M After an overnight low of 78°, daybreak brought overcast skies and evidence of uncertainty, with a very brief daytime high of 93°…as more rainfall returned. At the time of this “now” report at 4:27 PM EDT; the temperature is 77° as a light rainfall continues.
7/1/2010 7:00 AM 0.24 M M M M After an overnight low of 75°, daybreak brought overcast skies and a humid daytime high of 89° at my South Tampa location. For the record; I recorded 6.54” of rainfall during June at my location, and my average daytime high for the month of June was 96.2° and the average overnight low during June was 77.2°. Overall, that equals a record breaking average June temperature of 86.7°. Much like what I wrote all June long; it’s been hot-hot here in South Tampa this year.
7/2/2010 7:00 AM 2.93 M M M M Unstable weather brought a heavy slow moving rainfall (2.93”) last night, with more rainfall that continued into the early morning hours over my South Tampa location today, resulting in an overnight low of 73° and a daytime high of only 81°. Unfortunately, the unstable weather hasn’t changed, and it’s already being described as a future tropical weather concern.
7/3/2010 7:00 AM 0.13 M M M M After an overnight low of 75°, daybreak brought more unstable-uncertain weather, with intermittent rain sprinkles and an eventual daytime high of 87° at my South Tampa location…as a lot of uncertainty remains in the weather nearby.
7/4/2010 7:00 AM 0.12 M M M M After a wet overnight low of 73°, daybreak brought more unsettled weather and rainfall, with a daytime high of only 80°, followed with a heavy rain downpour at 6 PM tonight, lasting past 7 PM at my South Tampa location.
7/5/2010 7:00 AM 2.81 M M M M After a pleasant yet wet overnight low of 73°, daybreak brought more rainfall and humid weather, with a daytime high of only 79° at my South Tampa location.
7/6/2010 7:00 AM 0.84 M M M M After a wet yet pleasant overnight low of 72°, daybreak brought some promise of change, with breaks in the clouds and hints of sunlight…as intermittent light rain sprinkles continued throughout the day, with a late afternoon daytime high of 88° that followed. At the time of this “now” report at 4:45 PM EST; the sky is turning grey and stormy, with gusty winds preceding what could be trouble …as a line of heavy rain clouds are moving from the east towards my South Tampa location.
7/7/2010 7:00 AM 1.84 M M M M After a cooling unexpected rain downpour last night and an overnight low of 73°, daybreak brought back more normal summer-like weather here at my South Tampa location for at least one day, with a pleasant daytime high of 89°.
7/8/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 73, daybreak has brought promise of something of a more normal summer-like day today....
7/9/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a pleasant overnight low of 73°, daybreak brought a slow yet certain return of the hot summer weather, with a daytime high of 95° at my South Tampa location today.
7/10/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's been a hot-hot day here at my South Tampa location today. Just step outside your door and you'll know what I say today.
7/11/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another warm day all around Tampa Bay, with a daytime high of 91° at my South Tampa location.
7/12/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a warmer than expected night-time of 79°, daybreak brought on a hot-hot day at my South Tampa location, with a daytime high of 96°. And now even the experts are saying; "If you think this is hot, just wait a few more years"....... Meaning? This is only the beginning of what will soon be some very oppressive heat.
7/13/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another hot-hot humid day all around the South Tampa Bay area today, with a daytime high of 95° at my location. For those like me who work outdoors all day long, this is fatiguing weather.
7/14/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a humid overnight low of 79°, daybreak brought more hot-hot fatiguing heat, with a daytime high of 96° at my South Tampa location. It’s going to be a long hot uncomfortable summer this year. If my reports suddenly end, and they eventually will, it’s because I’m already looking for a cooler place elsewhere.
7/15/2010 7:00 AM 0.06 M M M M A warm humid overnight low of 79° followed by a day today that brought more hot humid air, with a brief daytime high of 93°, followed with a refreshing unexpected late afternoon rainfall...at my South Tampa location. The best news right now; at least briefly, the oil has stopped gushing in the Gulf of Mexico.
7/16/2010 7:00 AM 1.12 M M M M After a rain cooled overnight low of 75°, daybreak brought a slow return to more hot weather, with a daytime high of 93° at my South Tampa location today.
7/17/2010 7:00 AM 0.11 M M M M After a rain-cooled overnight low of 78°, daybreak brought more hot-hot weather, with a daytime high of 95° at my South Tampa location today. For those like me who work outdoors, this is often exhausting heat.
7/18/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a warm-humid overnight low of 79°, daybreak brought more hot-hot searing heat, with an afternoon long high of 96° at my South Tampa location. Think this is hot? Just wait until August.
7/19/2010 7:00 AM 0.71 M M M M It was a hot-hot day today, with a daytime high of 95° at my South Tampa location, and if you think that's hot, just wait until you see what the next three days are forecasted to be.
7/20/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an unusually warm and humid overnight of 80°, daybreak brought soaring temperatures and searing heat, with an afternoon-long daytime high of 96° at my South Tampa location.
7/21/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After another steamy overnight of 80° heat, daybreak brought more hot-hot searing heat, with an afternoon long daytime high of 95° at my South Tampa location.
7/22/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another steamy overnight temperature of 79°, followed with more daytime searing heat and an afternoon long daytime high of 96°. Think this is hot? Summer has only begun ...all the while the TV weather talking heads try to make banter of what they can't explain.
7/23/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After yet another steamy nightlong low of 80°, daybreak brought warm-breezy weather, a mixture of sun & clouds, and a brief daytime high of 89° during the early afternoon, until Tropical Storm Bonnie suddenly brought a windy rainfall that lowered the temperature all the way down to 79° quicker than you could say; “it’s raining outside.”
7/24/2010 7:00 AM 0.89 M M M M TS Bonnie brought little relief, as the overnight temperature remained warm and humid with nothing less than 80° all night long, then sunrise reignited the daytime heat, with more hot-steamy heat and an eventual daytime high of 95° at my South Tampa location. The heat I’m experiencing this summer continues to far exceed what the professional meteorologists have been predicting. Do you hear me now; Steve Jervey?
7/25/2010 7:00 AM 0.15 M M M M After a brief rain-cooled overnight low of 79°, daybreak brought more hot-humid air, with a daytime high of 95°.
7/26/2010 7:00 AM 0.51 M M M M Once more an early evening rainfall cooled the overnight air briefly, yet daybreak brought back the searing hot-humid air, with a daytime high of 95°.
7/27/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Now the overnight temperatures are becoming warmer and warmer as summer moves along….as 79° and 80° are becoming the overnight norm. Daybreak is bringing instant heat even before the sun breaks over the treetops, and today was no different, with a steamy overnight low of 80° and a daytime high of 93°…before a cloud cover moved in to slow the heating. So what’s going on, Steve Jerve? Do you hear me, Steve?
7/28/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a warm-steamy overnight of 80° temperatures, daybreak brought instant heat searing, with an early daytime high of 93° just after noontime, then a welcome unexpected mid afternoon rainfall brought instant relief...lasting late into the afternoon...as rain clouds began to appear all around at my South Tampa location.
7/29/2010 7:00 AM 1.01 M M M M Another surprise-unexpected rainfall took place late yesterday afternoon, lowering the temperature here at my South Tampa location down to 77° overnight, then sunrise brought back the hot-searing-steamy heat with revenge, with the heat soaring up to 93° by noontime...lasting all afternoon long. Inland today was even hotter when I traveled eastward in Hillsborough County, with temperatures soaring up passed 97° on my dashboard thermometer.
7/30/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After yet another warm-humid night with no relief, daybreak brought hot-hot instant searing heat to my South Tampa location, with an early afternoon high of 96° that lasted all afternoon long....with no evidence of any relief anytime soon. You can even expect the mid 80's at bedtime tonight. All at a time when the weather scientists are now saying; "if you think this is hot, just wait until next month."
7/31/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an uncomfortable warm-steamy overnight low of 81°, daybreak brought instant hot-searing heat, with an afternoon long hot-hot-hot daytime high of 97° at my South Tampa location. For the month of July, I recorded 13.6” of rainfall at my location, with an average month long daytime high of 91.9° and a month long overnight average of 76.8°. While the averages look a little cooler, don’t let that fool you because it’s the “now” temperature of 97° right now that gets your attention most. Do you hear me now, Steve Jerve?
8/1/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another warm-steamy overnight low of 80°, then daybreak brought instant hot-searing heat, with an early hot-hot daytime high of 97° that lasted all afternoon long. It was so hot here in the Ballast Point area, Ballast Point Pier and Park was nearly empty this afternoon. Here at my South Tampa location, nighttime isn’t even comfortable anymore.
8/2/2010 7:00 AM 1.76 M M M M After a heat-scorching day yesterday, a surprise rainfall right after sunset last night brought brief cooling relief, with an overnight low of 77°, then daybreak today brought back more searing heat, with an early daytime high of 93°, lasting all day long. Not in all my years in Florida have I experienced oppressive summer heat lasting this long.
8/3/2010 7:00 AM 0.55 M M M M Another early evening rainfall brought more relief from the heat last night, producing an overnight low of 76°, then daybreak brought slower heating today, with a brief early afternoon high of 93° before a surprise cloud cover blocked the ground heating just enough to say that today wasn’t as bad as I expected here at my South Tampa location. With 50 days left counting down to until the first day of autumn, at least there’s something to look forward to.
8/4/2010 7:00 AM 0.35 M M M M After another rain-cooled night and an overnight low of 77°, daybreak brought back more hot weather, with an early daytime high of 93° that’s lasted all afternoon long here at my South Tampa location. Then factor in the “feels-like” temperature, and the local TV meteorologists won’t talk about it? Meanwhile 49 days until the first day of Autumn.
8/5/2010 7:00 AM 2.55 M M M M A sudden-unexpected rainstorm early last night left enough rainfall (2.55”) to cool the earth enough to bring the overnight temperature down to 75°, and the cooling even carried over way past daybreak today, resulting in a daytime high of only 89° here at my South Tampa location today. At the time of this “now” report at 4 PM EDT; the temperature is 88°, with a mixture of sun and clouds. Something to smile about, with 48 days left until the first day of Autumn.
8/6/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 79°, daybreak brought a much slower than usual warming, with a brief daytime high of 90° right after noontime, then a surprise cloud cover lowered the temperature a degree during the remainder of the afternoon. The sea breeze coming in off Tampa Bay earlier this morning was truly refreshing, too. Now with the Gulf oil spill finally over and with just 47 days until the first day of autumn and there’s something to look forward to.
8/7/2010 7:00 AM 0.05 M M M M After an overnight low of 79°, daybreak brought more heating until a sudden unexpected heavy rainfall at noontime, followed by an afternoon of mostly cloudy skies and a daytime high of only 89°. A very good is coming from these daily rainfalls and cloud covers this month.
8/8/2010 7:00 AM 0.31 M M M M After an uncomfortable overnight low of 80°, daybreak brought cloudy skies and rain sprinkles, followed with more cloudy skies and brief sunshine, an early afternoon daytime high of 90°, and now at 4PM I’m experiencing a heavy rainstorm here at my South Tampa location.
8/9/2010 7:00 AM 0.54 M M M M After a rain-cooled overnight low of 76°, daybreak brought overcast skies, brief early afternoon sunshine and a brief daytime high of 87° at my South Tampa location…as unusual sub-tropical weather south of Tampa affects the weather here. So what’s going on out there, Steve Jerve?
8/11/2010 7:00 AM 0.32 M M M M After an overnight low of 76°, daybreak brought overcast skies, followed by intermittent rain…all day long….with a daytime high of 84° at my South Tampa location. For those of you who remember, it was 6 years ago this week, on Friday the 13th, when Hurricane Charlie reshaped our minds and lives.
8/12/2010 7:00 AM 0.52 M M M M After an overnight low of 77°, daybreak brought a little rain here, there and all around town throughout the day, with an eventual steamy daytime high of 90° here at my South Tampa location.
8/13/2010 7:00 AM 0.38 M M M M Much of the same, with an overnight low of 78° and a daytime high of 90°...with a little rainfall during the early afternoon. Quite a change from what took place on this Friday the 13th...six years ago.
8/14/2010 7:00 AM 0.08 0.0 M M M Little has changed, with an overnight low of 78° and a daytime high of 93° at my South Tampa location....as the count-down to the first day of autumn reaches 39.
8/15/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 78°, daybreak brought another day filled with sunshine and hot-hot steamy heat, with a daytime high of 95° and no evidence of any rain nearby at my South Tampa location today.
8/16/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 78°, daybreak brought more hot-hot steamy air, with an afternoon long high of 96°.
8/17/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After an overnight low of 79°, daybreak brought yet another hot-hot day, with an afternoon long steamy daytime high of 95° at my South Tampa location.
8/18/2010 7:00 AM 0.12 0.0 M M M After a steamy overnight low of 80°, daybreak brought more hot-hot summer heat, with a daytime high of 96°. Thanks to a surprise late afternoon cloud cover, the temperature dropped down to 86° at my South Tampa location at the time (4:39 PM EDT) of this report.
8/19/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Same old-same old….after a steamy overnight low of 79°, daybreak brought more hot-hot summer heat and a daytime high of 97° to my South Tampa location again today. There aren’t nice words that could best describe the heat taking place this summer. The good news; The first day of Autumn is 33 days away and counting…..
8/20/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It was a very hot searing summer day here at my South Tampa location today, with an afternoon-long daytime high of 97° and another day without rainfall.
8/21/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a steamy overnight low of 81°, daybreak brought no mercy, with a brief early afternoon daytime high of 92°, then thanks to an unexpected cloud cover and brief rainfall, the remainder of the afternoon was a little more bearable. Footnote to anyone who is still listening: Isn’t it time to readjust those daily ”normal” high & low temperatures in the daily weather almanac’s? Those figures are outdated now and don’t come close to what we’ve been experiencing during the last few years.
8/22/2010 7:00 AM 0.06 M M M M After a surprise rain cooled pre-dawn moment when the temperature finally fell down to 79°, daybreak brought the usual temperature surge, and by noontime the daytime high had already briefly taken place, with a searing 93°...before a surprise cloud cover and evidence of rain clouds not far away brought the temperature down to 87° at my South Tampa location today.
8/23/2010 7:00 AM 2.46 M M M M After a rain-cooled overnight low of 76°, daybreak brought more rainfall and lots of cloud cover, keeping the daytime high temperature down to 83° throughout the afternoon at my South Tampa location. And with the 2.46” of rain that I’ve received during the last 24 hours, my rainfall total for the month of August is 9.61” right now.
8/25/2010 7:00 AM 2.51 M M M M Another rain-cooled night, with an overnight low of 75°, followed by a repeat of yesterday, with a rain cooled day again that kept the temperature down in the low 80’s. And the countdown continues, with the first day of autumn just 28 days away!
