Well, this was interesting. Yesterday around 11am or noon, we had a sprinkle that yielded us 0.03. Then late last night, we just had a pour down. I thought we'd have at least half an inch more--but no, we only got another 0.06 on top of the first. It was clear by midnight and no more rain after that. |

Well, was I shocked. I took a pitcher outside to gather all my rain, because I just knew from the way I had heard it rain all night, it must be almost over flowing. But, no, just the 0.42. While there were spurts of heavy rain, for the most part, it was just steady. Earlier yesterday, I had 0.93. Between 2:25 pm & 2:35 pm I got another 0.27. by 5:15 pm my gauge said 0.43 (w/the .27). By 7:35 pm, 1.69 (total between 2:25 pm & 7:35pm). By 10:10 pm, another 0.38. At 3:10 am, I had added 1.07 to my total. Then the last was this morning at 8 am, an additional 0.37. For my overall total of 4.44! I couldn't make any more intense reports for the lightening. |

Finally a break... Boy did we get rain, not as much as Flat and Newburg, apparently, but we got plenty. I tried to make an intense precipitation report, but before I could get my computer up and running, the lightening was sounding again, so I had to unplug quick. I had 1.73 by last night at 9:25 pm. This morning at 5:55 am, I had 1.79 more. There wasn't much of a sprinkle by 7 am, then it started again, but after 7 am amount I am saving for tomorrow. |

Well, we had an interesting little thing happen last night at 10:55 pm. We had about a 10-15 second burst of HAIL. It was about pea size and a bit smaller. But it was just too big for sleet. It came with a clap of thunder. I had 52 in the gauge at 2 am, and most of the rain was over just after 3 am. |

Yesterday morning there were about a half-dozen little bits of snow in the gauge, about the size of a couscous. It wouldn't have even melted to a drop. This morning there wasn't much of anything until about 8:15, when a few lazy little wifts of snowflakes drifted slowly thru the air. Most about the size of a small fingernail, and many smaller. I brought the gauge in last night at 10:10 pm and emptied it then. We had 7.6 inches at that time in the gauge. This morning we had another 1.5 inches in the gauge. All together it melted to 0.74. I also think where I have been taking my measurement is one of the places where it is not windblown, because the rest of the yard looks like the inches are about 2/3's of my spot. If it wasn't for the fact that there was as much in the gauge to start with that was also on the ground where I measured, I would have thought I had measured in a drift instead of a average spot. |

Yesterday we had a major meltdown. There was only about 4.2 inches left on the ground this morning. We didn't have near the melt down today we had yesterday. My Aunt, who lives a mile south of us said she had mostly bare ground, but was surprised at how much we had yet. (no farther than a mile difference!) |

Well, much of my snow cover has been tracked in, so I took snow from two places in the yard. One was right at 3 inches deep another was only about 2 1/4 inches. The one from the 3 inch place was 0.70 exactly and the one from the 2 1/4 inch place was very close to 0.52, so averaging those amounts gave me the totals I reported. |

Interesting yesterday, we had bouts of snow flurries, then bright sunshine. Really strange. But, this is Mo. It looked like just a little fluff in the bottom of the gauge, but melted down to 0.02. Ground snow depth was more like 4.2, but it asks for the nearest 1/2 inch. The melt down is not entirely accurate, because there was an ice layer, about 1/8-1/4 inch thick that I couldn't scratch up. |

This morning, what is on the ground was interesting. There are very large swaths with nothing, then there are some pretty good spots with lots of snow yet on the ground. about half and half. So, I picked a spot where the snow was about the average of the 1/2 inch to 3 inches or more actually on the ground, which was about 1 1/2 inches. The melt down from that was 0.27, but with half the ground bare, I cut the meltdown in half, so take it from there. I said 0.14. The lateness of the report is due to waiting for the snow to melt, a meeting, a birthday party, and some business that had to be taken care of leaving me with little time to get my report in. But better late than never. |

Well, not as much as I thought it would be. Coming home from Rolla last night it just poured and the wind was really bad. I could hardly keep my van on the road, or see where I was going.
