Windy all day yesterday. Strongest winds started about noon and lasted into the night. All trees were bending way over in some of the gusts. A lot of tree debri in the air, dead branches blew out of the trees, up to 1" diameter live evergreen branches blew out of the trees, loose plastic covering blew around. When we traveled out of our trees in the afternoon the winds were much stronger on the ground and much more was blowing around. An example: the door to the restauant was very difficult to open and when anyone did get it opened the floor mat would flip over and displays would blow around. Our location is protected from the trees so we didn't have as much damage as other places close by did. |

It was raining and a little windy when I got up yesterday. I noticed widely scattered snow flakes mixed with the rain about 8:20 a.m. By 8:55 a.m. there were more snowflakes than rain. The rain/snow mix continued throughout the morning. Afternoon was damp and chilly but clearing. |

Spitting snow started at about 8 a.m., snow started in earnest around 11 a.m., by 4:00 there was 1 3/8" of snow, by 4:45 p.m. there was 1.5" snow. I noticed a light drizzle of rain when I let the dog out at 7:30 p.m., by 10:30 p.m. we had the warmest temps. of the day (33 degrees) and everything was very slick from the rain and it was still raining. |

When we returned from a day trip at 3:45 p.m. we had 3.5" of new snow! Our son--about 5 miles away--said the snow started at about 9 a.m. By 6 p.m. it was very windy--the evergreen trees were swaying around quite a bit--no debri though. At 9 p.m. there was a total of 5.5" of new snow and still windy. At 10:15 p.m. there was another 0.4" of new snow to add. I switched my precip. tubes for the night--there was 0.41" of liquid precip in this new snow. I noticed a few small evergreen tips and the wind had picked up considerably. This morning there was another 3" of new snow to add to the totals yesterday. This snow had 0.08" of liquid precip. in it. There are more fir and larch branch pieces all over the ground--up to pencil size thickness and up to 2' long. |

Not sure how much total value from the core of the new snow is since we did have some rain about mid-day yesterday that melted most of the first 1/2" of snow from the morning at about 11 a.m. By 8 p.m. we had another 2.5", by 10:30 p.m. there was another 3/4". A lot more overnight! Our small (8') evergreen trees are laying on the ground. Bushes and shrubs are laying over but not on the ground yet. I am suprised by the evergreens. |

Heavy wet snow from Monday knocked branches and trees down around the Flathead Valley Tuesday. Lots of power outages. We were gone all day yesterday and learned the strong winds started about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and wind hasn't quit yet. We have evergreen branches of 1.5" diameter down. I will check for more damage in the daylight. |

What a storm! Winds didn't pick up until about 11:45 a.m. yesterday. It was very windy after that. Around 3 p.m. the winds intensified and a lot of tree debri was flying around and hitting the house. Aound 6 p.m. the winds intensified again and included snow with poor visibility and a build up of 0.1" before it melted. Along with the wind all day there were periods of snow and/or rain. By 10:30 p.m. the winds had died down to breezy and the skys were clearing. This a.m. we have clear skys and it is breezy. The largest branches I have seen on the ground close to our house are 1/2" to 3/4" diameter. There were trees down across the road not far from our house--less than 1/2 mile. Later this a.m. I'll check our acreage to see if we have any trees down. |

This is an amazing amount of rain for us in one storm! First fat raindrops started at 4:30 p.m. and continued on and off until 6 p.m. when heavy rain started falling. Two hours later, at 8 p.m., we had 0.69", by 9:20 p.m. we had 0.74"! Thunder started about 30 minutes after the hard rain started, followed by close thunder and lightning about 15 minutes later. Thunder and lightning lasted around 40 minutes--hard rain continued to fall throughout and after. This morning we have standing water along our driveway and in our open flat areas. Our low spot has a pond in it now. The local golf course--about .5 miles to the wes--has many large puddles throughout their greens and standing water in their sand bunkers. |

We have a lot of tree litter covering the ground--mostly branch tips and pinecones, etc. Largest green branch down on our place--about 1/2". Neighbors have a 1" diameter green branch down. These branches are from the larch trees. Rain sprinkles came about 10 p.m. and lasted just a few minutes. |

Thunderstorm yesterday sometime between 6 and 8 p.m. Strong winds and rain. We were not home so I do not know if wind or rain came first. Several trees in the neighborhood are down. Largest I saw was at least 1 1/2' diameter. I heard from firemen that a larger tree was down in the other direction. Power was out until 11:45 p.m. from a tree(s) that hit the line. Much tree debri and branches up to 2" diameter are down everywhere. Loose lawn furniture and tarps, etc. are blown around. |
