12/8/2009 12:32 PM 1.48 M M M M Cloudy damp and wet here at the station, the ground is plentiful with water from the warm front moving thru this morning, still some moderate rain falling outside right now and its overcast with a little bit of a breeze out of the south by southeast. The temperature is 41 degrees and our high yesterday was 44 degrees and our low this morning was 31 degrees. Rainfall from recent moving system was recorded at 1.47 so far this morning and still falling at the present time. ~PERSONALE OBSERVATIONS NOTE TO COCORAHS AND OTHER VIEWERS~ THE GROUND LOOK'S TO BE PRETTY SATURATED FROM THE RAINFALL AMOUNTS THIS MORNING, SO MY ESTIMATION IS ITS BEEN RAINING FOR A GOOD 2 SOLID HOURS OR MORE, AND STILL RAINING AT THIS TIME. BUT THERE IS NO FLOODING OR ANY SMALL FLOODING OF THAT NATURE, HOWEVER THE GROUND IS PRETTY UNSTABLE FROM RECENT RAINFALL, SO JUST THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE THAT A NOTE TO ALL STAFFS AND OBSERVIE OFFICERS OF COCORAHS.
12/9/2009 2:44 PM 3.68 M M M M This is my final rain report ending today, the final measurements taken this morning, however had some really breezy winds that knocked out the power which was at 10:45am to the 11:30am time span. Now all power is on and the wind is finally died down, however do have some trees down just behind the station other than that everything is back to normal and I would like to thank you all for this opperatunity to help you all out and hope everything is going well with everyone. Our low this morning was 39 degrees and our high today , can you believe it??? a heatwave, 58 degrees. LOL, have a joyous week and ill keep you up to date on the conditions here at chestnut ridge weather monitoring skywarn center. Currently we have partly cloudy skies however clouds are eroding away and the temp is 48 degrees and dropping. Have a good one. Forgot the snow fall measured which began last Friday into Saturday, upto one inch fell which began Saturday morning at 2:45 and ended at Saturday morning of last week and all came out to 1.00 inch of snowfall. Reports of all precip will be taken on a multiday report as well. explaining dates and times, thanks
2/5/2010 8:40 PM M M M M M Had some pretty good systems, this week allot of precipitation action from snow to rain and even severe weather at times, the good news is so much needed moisture , the bad news is allot of streams and creeks accumulated rainfall this week and ended up being a golly washer for some counties . Including here at the Chestnut Ridge weather center monitoring area. Right now we have overcast and some light rain and a temp of 43 degrees (Report of 4.58".)
