A winter wonderland in Wonder Valley, AZ. Started snowing at 12Noon 12/29 & continued thru the afternoon & thru the night. Lost power at 7:00pm for almost an hour. Grandkids from Phx arrived then & headed for the snow. By 10pm they had rolled 2 3 1/2 ft snowballs. Today, snowing lightly, wind makes it cold, I can't measure it. Complete cloud cover. Happy day. |

SNOW!! Sorry I am late. It started snowing after 6am and continues to snow now. I had left the center tube and funnel in, so the measurement was what had collected on the top of the gauge + there was .16 melted in the tube. Also blowing alot. Midday it got to 102F. At 2:45 it started raining & 5 min. later the first thunder. .15" in a rain lasting about 50 min. I was out in it watching a daughter, 2 sons & a grandson build a greenhouse which our kids gave us for Christmas 2010. This is the 3rd time they came up from Phx to build it. The rain was wonderful. I reported this yesterday in Significant Weather as approx. 2", actual measure was 1.85" which fell in about 50 min. The dry ditch across our property was full & overflowing at the bottom. Hard sideways wind so probably didn't all get into the tube. This AM cloudy & calm. |

I got up at 6:30, it had been raining quite a while, but I don't know when it actually started. There was lightning & thunder along with it. I was surprised to have 1.02". It isn't a hard rain, just steady, and no wind. Was raining on me as I checked the gauge. A little water running in the ditch, but not much. Yesterday high 90.7, overnight low 60.8. I have measured 4.10" for July. Amazing!! |

Notice I am early, the neighbor called just after 7 and she had a young elk in her yard that was injured & wanted to know who to call because F&G was closed on Sat. When I went to check my gauge it was in our backyard trying to get thru the fence, and did. But his left front leg is injured. Poor little guy. Rain started just after 4pm (19th).
