11/21/2010 7:15 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Currently 35.5 deg. and calm. Overcast sky of thin, somewhat formed clouds with faint patches of blue between. Mount Hood obscured.
11/22/2010 7:00 AM 0.20 2.8 0.20 2.0 M Currently 30 deg. and snowing lightly. Visibility 1/2 mile. Totally overcast sky. Slight breeze. Snow began about 3 PM yesterday afternoon and has continued since then albeit very lightly. Snow on the ground is currently less than measured on the snow board because of the initial snow that melted when it hit the warmer, wet ground. This station's snow board is basically at ambient temperature and therefore captured that initial snow and thus a nice 1:1 correlation between SWE from gauge and core (at least for this on-going storm so far).
11/23/2010 7:00 AM 0.73 6.0 0.74 6.5 M Currently 19.6 deg., cold, calm and crisp. Overcast sky, but a little tiny sliver of the north face of Mount Hood is visible. Upper elevations of the west hills obscured.

11/25/2010 6:15 AM 0.00 0.0 M 4.5 M Currently 19 deg., calm and cold. Too early to evaluate the sky. Looks to be somewhat overcast to partially cloudy. The moon is visible but hazy.
11/30/2010 7:40 AM 0.15 2.0 0.20 6.5 M Currently 26 deg., snowing and calm. Visibility about 1/2 mile. Snow started yesterday evening about 9PM and it has been snowing since then. The discrepancy between the 3.5" of snow on the ground yesterday at 4:30PM and the 6.5" this morning, and only 2" on the snow board, is thought to be due in part to the fact that this station is on sloped ground but the snow board and gauge are level. This morning there is also a discrepancy between the SWE measured from the gauge and the core, perhaps because of the influence of the prevailing westerly winds.
12/1/2010 7:10 AM 0.71 0.5 M 4.5 M Currently calm and 32 deg. Overcast sky with some clouds spilling over the west hills into the valley. The snow followed by freezing rain fell yesterday mainly during the day and accumulated 0.5" of mostly ice on the snow board. An SWE could not obtained. Measuring the ice and snow in the rain gauge required the hair dryer and warm water!
12/2/2010 7:00 AM 0.16 0.0 M 4.0 M Currently 33+ deg. and calm with overcast sky. Visibility about .2 miles. Rain fell yesterday as drizzle in late afternoon and then in the evening hours as showers.

12/6/2010 7:30 AM 0.01 0.4 M 4.0 1.14 Currently 28 deg. and calm. Overcast sky with visibility about 1 mile. Mount Hood and west hills obscured. Snow shower yesterday from ~ 9:30 AM to ~ 11:30 AM deposited 0.4" of dry snow. On-the-ground snow/ice core SWE was somewhat compromised by dirt and debris.
12/7/2010 7:05 AM 0.00 0.0 M 4.0 M Currently 29 deg. and calm. Overcast sky. Mount Hood and west hills obscured. Visibility about 3 miles. For a short time yesterday in the early afternoon there were a few "filtered" sun breaks and an occasional patch of blue.

Rained all day yesterday, heavy at times, with .27" in the gauge between 7 AM and 5 PM. Rain during the night and evening put another .67" in the gauge. On the ground snow/ice depth decreased 50% in last 24 hours from 3" to about 1.5".
12/11/2010 7:00 AM 0.15 0.0 M 1.0 M Currently 33 deg. damp and misty with a dense overcast sky. Mount Hood and the west hills obscured. Visibility probably about 1/2 mile. The rain fell intermittently all day yesterday. The gauge was emptied of .15" at 6 PM and the funnel/inner cylinder removed for anticipated snow. There was no precipitation overnight.

12/15/2010 7:15 AM 0.44 T M T M Currently 33 deg. with overcast sky, slight breeze and a rain/snow mix coming down. Trace of snow on the ground. Rain has fallen off and on day and night since observation time yesterday morning. At about 9 PM last night there were some snow flurries but it appears that the bulk of the .28" that fell overnight was rain.
12/16/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Currently 27 deg. and calm. Frost on the roof tops. Overcast sky which at this hour looks to be thin. Mount Hood and the west hills obscured. Visibility about one mile.

12/20/2010 7:00 AM 0.17 2.8 0.17 7.0 0.53 Currently 26 deg. and calm with an overcast sky. Visibility about 1 mile. We had no snow yesterday during the day, but it started to snow about 5 PM resulting in 2.8" over the night.
12/21/2010 7:15 AM 0.02 0.4 0.01 6.0 M Currently 28 deg. and calm with overcast sky. Mount Hood and the west hills obscured. Snow flurries yesterday morning deposited 0.4" of new snow. The 0.01" difference in SWE between gauge snow and snow core attributed to the inherent difficulty in obtaining the inverted sample with this small amount of light snow.
12/22/2010 6:50 AM 0.01 0.1 M 4.5 M Currently 29 deg. and calm with overcast sky. A trace of granular snow in the gauge (0.005" SWE rounded up to 0.01") and ~ 0.1" on the snow board. No obvious precipitation fell yesterday.

Spitting snow all day yesterday with about 0.4" accumulation of granular snow on the snow board yesterday from 7 AM until 6 PM; compromised core SWE .15". It rained steadily all day yesterday and well past 9 PM, when the gauge was emptied of .41" in anticipation of the forecast snow which was seen coming down at about 3 AM. The 0.6" of new snow and additional rain yielded another .13" of precipitation for the 24 hours. By yesterday evening the snow on the ground had melted down to about 1/2".
12/30/2010 6:50 AM 0.16 3.1 0.17 2.5 M Currently 24 deg., calm and cold. No clouds, a crescent moon, stars and Mount Hood is visible - looks like a clear, blue sky day to come. :) Snowed basically all day yesterday off and on, heavy at times. SWE from core at 4PM when snowing had essentially stopped for the day was .17" vs. melted snow from the gauge this morning of .16". The snow fall occurred in windy conditions, so the core value probably more accurately reflects the actual precipitation.
