We had a trace of precipitation during daylight hours yesterday from snow flurries. The big story has been the winds, however. The airport recorded a gust to 54 m.p.h. I am located on an exposed location on a hill, and my gusts may have been higher. I don't have wind recording equipment (yet). Gusts were strong enough to carry my snowboard away. My total snow remains 1.2 inches since temperatures remained below freezing and skies were cloudy all yesterday. Winds are still strong but diminishing slowly this morning, and skies have cleared. |

Sunny, windy and cold weather with some high mid day clouds brought no snow to Palmer yesterday. The snow has all blown away into huge drifts on the lee side of houses and other obstructions. Average sow depth is @ 1 inch as opposed to nearly 12 inches less than a week ago. I had to bring my snow board inside after it blew away yesterday for the second time this month. Wind gusts at Palmer Airport yesterday reached 64 m.p.h. Gusts in my area may have been stronger. It remains sunny, windy and cold this morning with gusts (Palmer Airport) at 46 m.p.h. |

A rather unique 'training' event appears to have occurred yesterday in Palmer as snow, which had commenced in earnest around 7 a.m. yesterday continued without a break until around 9:30 p.m. The plume of moisture appears to have been less than 20 miles wide during much of this snow event, and it did not move significantly. I sent a signifcant weather report this morning. The much anticipated adverse weather arrived yesterday evening. Yesterday morning's observation hinted at an encroaching plethora of bad weather, but as it turned out Palmer and other South Central communities lucked out. Morning showers yesterday ended by early afternoon. Skies remained cloudy the remainder of the day and overnight, and it was cooler. Winds have largely diminished. My high gust yesterday was 23.3 m.p.h. and the high temperature of only 50° F cooled to 45° F this morning. |

For the first time in two weeks, I recorded a completely dry day. A few sun breaks even developed during the afternoon. Skies remained cloudy overnight. My high yesterday was 53.1° F and my overnight low held to the mid 40's. Winds have calmed too, my high gust yesterday was (only) 9.6 m.p.h. |

Cloudy skies yesterday cleared partially overnight, allowing the temperature to drop to 40° F so far this morning. The high yesterday of 56° F occurred along with breezy conditions, as I recorded a high gust of 35.6 m.p.h. |

Winds increased rather dramatically late in the afternoon. My high gust was 45.2 m.p.h. Yesterday morning started off sunny but clouds increased and it remained cloudy overnight. My high was 53.8° F and this morning's low so far is 42.3° F under cloudy skies. |

I had my first measurable snowfall this morning. Snow began between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. and ended before 7 a.m. I presently have light snow which began again about 9:15 a. m. this morning. Rain fell during much of the day yesterday before ending late in the evening. My high yesterday held at 45° F before dropping to 33.7° F this morning. My high wind gust yesterday was 12.3 m.p.h. |

A few brief morning snow showers were insufficient to contribute additional precipitation yesterday. Skies cleared during the afternoon and it remained mostly clear overnight. All the snow yesterday disappeared even from the deepest recesses of the woods as the high temperature of 43.9° F melted it. Clear skies overnight allowed frost to occur this morning. My present temperature is 31.1° F. My high wind gust yesterday was 9.6 m.p.h. |
