Partly cloudy, 62. Sprinkles at 4:05pm & 11pm enough to use wipers. On way to Olema in Marin CO. Hit a fairly good shower about 1/2m out of Tomales at 4:30pm. As I drove down Hwy 1 along Tomales Bay I could see a downburst that looked to be about Pt. Reyes Station & Oleama. When I reached Pt. Reyes Station it was wet, but not coming down then. When I arrived to see friends at Olema Campground they confirmed that about 4:45 or so they had a brief intense downpour. Then it became partly cloudy and was great weather for our campfire, barely a breeze as we visited until 10pm. Didn't hit any rain on the drive home until reach my neighborhood as mentioned above. |

Trimmed one branch off this morning. So I will see if this is enough. It really grew this summer & humming birds love it so didn't want to trim too much. |

All but .10 of this fell after 6:30pm. It is clear and cool 49 currently with some clouds to the west I think through the trees. High of 62. Supposed to be thunderstorms later on. Yesterday going to Tomales @8:20am hit almost dense ground fog on Tomales - Two Rock Rd. just after Twin Bridges Rd. It stayed that way almost to Hwy 1, and then it lifted up some. |

Anywhere the fields & hills have been grazed on are now being carpeted with emerald green new grass. I know the rain isn't good for grapes & other crops, but it is great to have green instead of brown hills. |

Low frizzly swirling fog clear to ground even before sunrise. Currently 56. Sunday was camped out at Doran Regional Park and it was totally overcast with fog, 63 and barely a breeze. When up at Bodega Head @2:30pm it was calm, no whitecaps, maybe a 1mph breeze too warm for a sweatshirt. Stopped in Tomales and fog was just clearing. |

Wet drippy coastal fog combined with dense ground fog. 39 currently. Yesterday 58. Was in Tomales yesterday afternoon & fog was already drifting in @2:45pm and pouring down hills west of town a bit after 3pm. By 3:40pm most of town was covered and fog was heading inland along hills between Fallon Rd. & Bodega Ave. Fog was in by 7pm in Rohnert Park. Dense fog by 8:45pm so called in a spotter report. Still Dense fog this am so reconfirmed it @6:56am. Spots of blue sky by 7:45am, however still very dense mostly. Coming down HWY 101 south at top of Cotati grade before Railroad Ave. blue sky. Went down in elevation a tiny bit & plunged back into dense fog. Precip shown is from the fog. |

28 with lots of frost and some ice, such as on bird bath. Ice in it is 1/3" in middle & 1/2" at edges. Cat water is 1/8" thick. We need our rain, hills that were green with rain in October are barely growing. I noticed the other day that dairy farmers are still feeding hay in a lot of places. I don't recall seeing it so much feeding in Dec before. The only good things so far with our low rainfall are the great sunsets, sunrises and hardly any slugs or snails in my garden. |

Noticed fog forming on fields as sun went down on way to drop off grandson in Petaluma. On way back coming up Stony Point Rd. fog was across and very dense in spots but not uniformly all over. So you would be drivin it was clear, then suddenly in tule/ground fog that had <1/8m visiabilty. Called in a spotter report S085 when got home @6pm. There was some fog on RPXWY W by dip but none in neighborhood. Then when was out with dog @8:15pm dencse drippy fog in neigborhood with < 1/8m visblty so called in addtional spotter report. |

There was a full moon with clouds being blown in patterns high up that if we were further north and they were colored looked just like aurorabolis patterns seen in photos. Noticed when in side southern facing yard @obsrvtn time that some of my golden raspberries have berries forming. I usually don't see those till late m March. |

Clear, cool 42. High 64. Yesterday was out at Bodega Head. When left here just a wisp of a breeze. Started getting wind coming into Bodega Bay, lots of whitecaps on bay. It was so windy at Head that whale watch packed it in. This was at 12:45pm It wasn't that cool, just very windy. Dog didn't like the wind gusts shaking car. Since wasn't a cool wind I had windows down abt 1". Even with wind vents covers over car windows, sand was being blown in and deposited on dashboard and other places. Later up at Duncans Landing there was a coupla of good thundering waves that splashed salt spray and moisture on car. For people outside vehicles it was like a light rain as waves crashed. Back home by 4pm just a wisp of a breeze still only aprx 18 miles from coast directly, not by roads (29). |

Birdbath has aprx. 1/2" to 3/4" ice (when I tried to break a piece out of center to take out and measure the whole plastic water tray came with it). Cat's water 1/4"ice. High of 54. A nice blustery Jan. Storm. It was time for one. Had 1 inch in gauge at 5:30pm, by 9:10pm when called in a spotted report for the wind and rain another 1.04 with estimated gusts of 25 to 35mph based on obsrvtns while at Bodega Head w portable anemomoter (sp?). Then by 10:20pm another .60 so called in another spotted report. After that it died down with the exception of power going out shortly after 11pm with some off on 2 times like a tree on it. It must have been a large area as utilities in this area of Rohnert Park are underground. It was out a good.hour or so. Two days ago ground was cracking in places, now I have a pond in my backyard. |

Already 64 out. They say today is to be cooler but this temp seems to suggest otherwise. Yesterday was a sorcerer with a high of 96. It was still 72 at 10pm. Had to go to Geyserville abt 3pm and it was about 106. It was probably hotter by 5 or 6pm. Local paper Press Democrat says Cloverdale was 109 and Healdsburg 105. Geyserville is 1/2 in-between. Tv news said Santa Rosa was 104 or 103 depending on channel & broke a record, Pd says 97 and it didn't. It probably depended on if you were downtown (hotter with pavement & Rincon Valley on hotter eastside) or in cooler areas. I know the downtown bank display said 96 at 11:15am.

What a difference in humidity! Last night it was down in the 20% range, now it is up in the high 80%'s with coastal fog well entreched and a slight amout of frizzle from fog. Yesterdays high of 84. |

Coastal fog is in and it is 53, with a high of 71. As this is the last day of the month and Calif. does it rainy season from July 1st thru June 30th they are giving the %'s out. The Santa Rosa / Rohnert Park area is at 67% of normal compared to last year 2011at 119%. The hills are more the color of Sept. or Oct's golden, brittle color and it is only June. When you walk in non-watered grassy areas it crackles and crunches due to less rainfall, hardly any of our normal June gloom; warm and dry low humidty days. Hopefully people will be careful with the upcoming 4th of July and our summer extra dry season. |

Clear, 58 out yesterdays high was 89 after the fog cleared between 8:30 & 9. On the way to Tomales at 8:30am of course hit more fog, however when turned off Stony Point onto Mechem fog was a lot lower and down to ground forming an almost dense ground fog. It stayed this way on Pepper Rd too until I got to Bodega Ave. where it lifted. It was still overcast all the rest of the way out. When I left Tomales at 10am it had cleared. |

Bright & clear 58 out with yesterdays high of 89. The nice thing about this recent heat wave is unlike when we have an off-shore event it, this & most other ones this summer have allowed the coastal breezes to come at night cooling us back down to the 50's. So this makes it bearable since you know about 5:30 to 6pm the coastal breezes coming in thru the Two-Rock / Tomales gap are going to reaching here. Thank goodness for the air conditioning provided by the Pacific ocean even though as the crow flys we are aprx. 18 miles inland. |

Coastal fog still completely in and only 52 out. Fog was in & temp down to 53 by 7:30pm last night. I had to close all Windows by 6:20pm since temp was dropping from high of 71 . Fog cleared yesterday btwn 10:30 & 11am. It sounds silly for Aug, but since inside of house is still only 63 I am giving in & turning heater on for a few to get damp & chill out of hse. |

Clear 54 & great day for space shuttle Endeavor last flight ontop of a 747 on way to LA museum for those down in SF area. Too bad it couldn't have flown over Sonoma County also. High was 74. Thick coastal fog overhead & 54 out. High was 79. I was in north Santa Rosa & temp really went up in afternoon, according to car thermometer it was 93 at 4pm. As I drove south to Rohnert Park the temp slowly came down as I went via Fulton Rd & Stony Point Rds. to home on west side of RP where at 4:30pm it was 78. Cool breeze kicked in abt 6pm to bring fog thru gap, although it took till 11pm for it to be 95% in. |

Fog is still in & it is 50 out. Yesterday was not hot as they predicated. The fog didn't clear in north Santa Rosa till after 11am so I am estimating it cleared here in Rohnert Park between 12:30 & 12pm since I could still see the fog over RP from where I was in north SR while it was clearing in SR. So it only made it to 71. The fog was pouring in along Tomales gap &ridge of hills opposite the Cotati grade already at 4:30pm.By 6pm it was also pouring directly east over the coastal hills in It's 2 pronged advance. Fog was completely in by 6:45pm. |
