Fog earlier this morning with a misty rain, more aggravating than good (like most politicians). Now overcast and misting but fog has lifted considerably. Left-over rainfall from Isaac not expected to be over 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch now, down from the 6 to 12 inches originally forecasted. I guess the only way to find out how much rain we'll get is to wait and see. somewhat moist to about an inch down, but pretty dry after that. I did water yesterday. |

About 20:30 wind came up from the NE, dropping the temperature and clearing the humid air. On the weather map, it looks like remains of Isaac are playing crack the whip. throwing stormy weather in all directions. Hopefully they'll throw some rain up here!!! Forecast still grim though. |

Yesterday between 13:57 and 14:10,three quick, fast, straight down rain showers: 13:57 one minute; 14:01, three minutes; 14:07, two minutes; resulting in 0.08 in gauge. Then from 14:18 until about 14:30 straight down rain shower so light you could not hear it, only see it, which gave us the remaining 0.03. This was the only rain we had yesterday. This morning definitely feels like Autumn. |

temperature is 61; still thundering. Storm last night 21:48 to about 22:25. Two one inch diameter pine tree brances down; younger maple trees were nearly bent over double from winds last night. Rain total from last night was 0.37; remaining 0.03 from rain this morning, 06:28 to now, although rain has eased up to light drizzle for now. 22:02 last night bright flash of lightning then tremendous roar of thunder. Storm wandered off about 22:25. Pea size hail about 06:28 for less then a minute right when rain started. Looks like another storm might come now. August rain total 2.22 inches here. |

Original forecast was for severe storms in p.m., which never materialized. Supposed to be sunny today. A lot of the flowers and shrubs (including 30 year old peonies) have some wierd mildew they haven't had before. Am trying sulfur and liquid fish emulsion in hope of stopping this. The phlox have already died off. This has been some season. Mother Nature seems perturbed. |

Checked this morning, no frost on tree, shrub, plant leaves; light spotty frost on garage next door, but not on my house or garage (my garage is at end of yard).
