Wild wx yesterday afternoon. AT 3pm, a wall cloud accompanied initially with dust and then heavy rain came in with high winds snapping the top off a tree in my front yard , which, thanks be to God, landed in the street rather than into my house. The temperature dropped from 95 to 74.7 degrees within a short time. A total of .39 inches or rain fell from 3pm - 3:30 when this event ended. Many trees were uprooted and broken around my area and power was lost for 6 hours. Many of my corn and tomato plants and some bushes were nearly flattened or broken off at the stems. Another round of rain came in during the early morning hours. An additional .2 inches of rain fell yielding a total 0f .59 in the rain gauge this morning. Currently, Cloudy skies, temp is a warm 67.9F, 87% Rh, wind is from the SW 3mph and a rising barometer of 29.84inHg. Cracks in the ground are still visible this morning. |

Yet another tree clearing and pruning storm affected this area yesterday evening. Several more trees were down and branches strewn aver this neighborhood. Flying branches caused a dent in my gutter system and knocked a window screen off. Two flag poles (one wooden and one aluminum) were both snapped off near the base. Two neighbors across the street suffered damage to their home from a felled tree. Another neighbor across the street suffered damage to their two cars parked in their driveway from a 6" diameter branch that was ripped from the their tree. Several other trees in the area also fell into homes. Winds were measured in excess of 31mph, but could be estimated over 60mph due to the damage that occurred, and .98 inches of rain fell in a :07 minutes. Pea size hail also fell for a short period of time. The other .04 inches fell from another bout of rain from 7:18pm - 7:44pm. Within a 1 mile radius of my home, it looked like a rerun from disaster area from last Fridays storm. Power outages have also affected some neighbors, but fortunately, my power was not lost. Temps yesterday evening were 101.1F and fell to 79.9F during the 7 minutes of the storm. A lot of energy was stored up an unleashed in this storm. The high temp yesterday was 105.7 with a 33% RH. Currently, conditions are calm winds with clear skies, and a temp of 76.0F, 79% RH. Barometer is 29.98 and steady. Another hot, muggy clean up day in store. Despite the 2 heavy rain events over the past week, cracks are still visible in the ground. |

The tstorm was given the ID M4 just after passing this site and then thunder was heard.
