What a storm! Rain did not stop until around 9 p.m. or a little later. At times rain was very heavy. There was also some wind at times. I measured 0.55" at 1:30 p.m., 0.68" at 3:45 p.m., 0.83" at 5 p.m. Rain had stopped and everything was very soggy and dripping wet when I went out at 10:30 p.m. |

Snow started at 8:25 a.m. yesterday. At 8:45 it started snowing heavier and their was a slight west to east slant. About a half an hour later it got pretty windy. Snow ended by late morning. All melted before I got out to measure. Most likely 1/4" to 1/5" could be added to the recorded totals. Snow squalls on and off throughout the rest of the day. Wild weather Wednesday yesterday! We had just about every type of weather you could think of for our area! High winds, breezes, calm. Rain, sleet, hail, snow, graupel, sun. Winds did produce tree debri here--nothing too major. Had they been sustained for any length of time we would have had trees down. Hard to gauge how much snow we got--so much of it melted on the way down or so after landing. Finally by mid evening the temp. dropped and some graupel started sticking some. |

Wild wind yesterday. The day was windy all day with a few squalls of rain and snow. Snow more in the afternoon. Terrible wind hit here about 11:20 and lasted for about 30 minutes. I was suprised none of our trees blew down. There were trees down thoughout the Flathead Valley--including one that blew down across a power line about 6 miles to the west that knocked out power to the lumber company where my husband works. The power outage and surge blew up a lot of their equipment. He got home late from trying to get everything up and running again. There are reports of the wind at 70 mph during that time period. |

First snowflakes started early--by 7:45 a.m. Around 11:00 a.m. snowfall was heavy. Snow is very wet! Snow tapered by 7:20 p.m. and ended by 10:30 p.m. Snow compacted and melted after falling. 7:30 a.m. pea size white and clear mix hail for about 3 minutes, then rain. 7:45 a.m. white 3/8" hail, then add rice size and then add pea size for about 5-7 minutes. Rain was mixed with this second wave of hail. Thunder and lightning was throughoutthis storm. Rain ended about 8:15 a.m. & was quiet until 10:30 a.m. when thunder & lightning begins again, at 10:50 a.m. HARD rain starts and last for about 15 minutes before tapering to steady rain. By 1 p.m. we had 0.77", By 4 p.m. we had 0.82". |
