7/15/2013 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M High yesterday: 84* Low this morning: 67** Morning low, observed just before sunrise, is a 21-yr record low for the date (previous 68F in 2006). *Yesterday's high bests the previous min max for the date of 85F established on July 14, 2001. Dense cloud cover through the morning into late afternoon, accompanied by a few sprinkles, was produced by the blow-off from a complex of morning thunderstorms offshore in the Atlantic, accounting for the relatively cool mid-July high temperature. The relatively cool morning low was a by-product of post-thunderstorm complex clearing in the evening accompanied by a relatively dry/narrow wedge of air that moved overhead from the ENE in the early morning hours.

Only 7 out of 31 days saw the high reach 90F. Climatologically 90F is reached on 16 days. Total rainfall for the month was below normal with 5.28" measured. Unfortunately, a goose egg here, and the month to-date total currently 1.96", well below normal for the first 3 weeks of September. Very low rain chances forecast through the weekend, then decent chances (50/50) through the middle of next week with moisture streaming out of the Gulf of Mexico across the Florida peninsula along a stationary front. Hopefully the last week of September will produce meaningful precipition here, if not the 22-yr record low September total of 2.67" observed in 2008 will be broken.
