A Low developing off the coast of Cali is drawing in the cool air from Northern Rockies, and the smoke returned diminishing VIS to 4 MI over the Valley. We certainly have had our share! |

Yeah... sorry I was late, but we flew to Avalord Desert this AM to shoot some video, and couldn't get the report up in time. Anyway It's still bone dry and smokey. we had 6mi VIS on the way out, and thankfully a couple great GPS's. The trip was VERY cool you want to see dry? Try a dry lake bed in October on the Nevada/Oregon border! |

We saw winds to 49kts at Airport, and 75MPH reported at Waha, just up the road... the front came through and dug deeply into the Inter-mountain Northwest, as Temps started near 60 and fell throughout the day, R.H. also plummeted from 66% to 30% by days end. |

Although we only got .1" of precip at the registered location, for some reason this caused street flooding (minor) downtown where secondary streets connected to main streets, and dirt parking lots like Idaho Forestry Group lot, were flooding~ traversed several large puddles that weren't draining & notified NWS. Also, the large rivers are nearing their tops! |

UPDATE (6-22) Upon investigation, evidence of flooding along roadways (unusual) was discovered on RIPON AVE at the big turn towards town, scouring, high waterlines took up half the travel lane, and debris erosion indicates heavy flow around inside of turn and towards Thain of a considerable depth. there will be a new rut along the edge of the pavement and it is underscored will need repairs soon. |

Huge line came up from Hells Canyon and spread out over Mountainous areas of Palouse and back across Northern WA, hitting our area at 7:40PM with 60MPH Gust at airport (according to ATC) wide-spread tree-damage and power outages reported along with numerous fires at one point scanner traffic overheard saying 'we have no more (fire) trucks shortly after height of activity.
What appeared to be a near severe Thunderstorm turned out to be outflow dominated Windstorm at this location with very little rain (fell as 'mud drops') |

Series of Evening and Late Night Storms crossed the valley with brief periods of moderate to heavy rain. 0.03" the first (Severe over NE OR) followed by 1:08AM 'heavy rain' according to wife, 3:00AM woke up by thunder.
An interesting note: The 1st storm was heavy before it got here, and contained a unique characteristic: A friend of mine who is a short-wave buff was listening to it on his radio and it 'hummed' as it grew nearer. |

Interesting storms crossed our region at 60MPH with trace amount (HAIL ONLY) at 7:45 pm, and then .02" HEAVY rain (for 3:00 minutes) at 11:15pm. Numerous lightnings and some were very small storms with heavy lightning. |

Backdoor front came across the mountains from the EAST after dark and produced steady rain through the night. It was enough to produce large puddles along frequently traveled route where I hadn't seen them in a while. One blinded me while driving home around 11:00pm. unsure when rain stopped. |
