Foggy this morning. Forgot to tell ya'll that this past weekend I noticed that the bald eagles are back. The same pond where they hang out is also a stopover for migratory birds so right now there is probably 50 white pelicans. They are nearly as big as the bald eagles! |

First, there were a few, and I'm talking five or six drops of rain on my windshield, and then wet roads, I'm thinking from the heavy humidity. It was 50 degrees when we went to bed and by the wee hours of the morning I knew the storm had hit. What was surprising, knowing what temperature it was when we went to bed was that we ground was dusted with snow! Sometime around daybreak we lost power too 'cause the alarm clock was blinking "1:34" when we finally realized it was not dark outside. |

The rain gauge total I'm sending is for what was just in the gauge. There was more on top but it was frozen solid and I didn't want to damage the gauge by knocking it off. Our snow/sleet mix started yesterday (2/20) just around sunrise and went all day; it has let up for now but there's more coming. During the wee hours of the morning we heard thunder and quite possible may have had a tree struck in our front yard since there's now one split in half. There's also a skim of ice on the branches.
