Temperatures have fallen from 75F to 83F 10/04/2012 afternoon maximums to 45F - 49F early morning 10/05/2012 minimums.

Although regional WSR-88D image loops indicated possible precipitation aloft in BKN/OVC AC, there were/are NO known reports of rain reaching surface. Afternoon temperatures were 22F-23F BELOW normal, as most of Missouri continued uder the influence of 1031mb polar continental high pressure over southwest Nebraska.

The only known 10/07/2012 precipitation was very light rain over extreme south central and Missouri bootheel, as weak low /mid troposphere disturbances moved east across north AR into west TN.

Radar/GOES composite indicates that a notable COLD fron is moving southeast across Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska early morning 10/09/2012. SCT AC, ahead of the COLD front, is moving east northeast across southwest IA, southeast NE, extrerme northwest MO early morning 10/09/2012.

Another larger more intense area/squall line is moving east northeast across north central KS to southweast KS early KS early morning 10/13/2012.

As notable WARM front moved north of Missouri early afternoon 10/13/2012, numerous showers/THUNDERSTORMS and associated moderate/HEAVY rain developed in the warm sector west, central sections of MO, preventing afternoon maximum temperatures from reaching the NWS/NDFD forecast 80F - 82F. According Davis instruments Vantage Pro at Columbia 0.6 W, rain fell at 2.55 inches/hour at 1418CST. Numerous CG lightning strikes, along with heavy rain forced a 40 minute delay during the afternoon Alabama versus Missouri(MU) SEC conference football game at Faurot Field/MU/Columbia MO. After a 2 hour 20-30 minute break, numerous moderate/HEAVY showers and THUNDERSTORMS/frequent CG again began moving north northeast across central MO. According to Davis Instrument Vantage Pro at Columbia 0.6 W, rain fell at 3.62 inches/hour at 2111CST 10/13/2012. Rain intensity decreased to light/very light by 2359CST 10/13/2012, coming to an eand 0039CST, according to regional WSR-88D Image Loops.

Weak lower troposphere disturbances and associated scattered very light rain moved east southeast across north central, central, east central Missouri later morning 10/14/2012. Additional known rainfall amounts were 0.01 inch to 0.02 inch. Skies became SCT to FEW SC early afternoon and CLR late afternoon, evening night 10/14/2012, as mid troposphere LOW over west central IL and associated west/northwest wind 10-15mph gusts 20-25mph moved east.

Even possible scattered rain aloft over northwest, west central MO.

Most known amounts were 0.25 - 0.50 inch. Skies becaame CLR over central Missouri evening, as showers and thunderstorms moved across east sections of Missouri into west sections of Illinois.

However, the only known scattered showers and thunderstorms moved east northeast north central, northeast Missouri. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are moving east northeast across southwest, southcentral, central Missouri early morning 10/23/2012. 0.08 inch has been recorded Columbia 0.6 W at time of this report.

Finally, the slow moving MCC and associated scattered showers and thunderstorms moved east to east central Missouri 10 - 11AM CDT 10/23/2012, after 0.60 inch to 1.50 inch storm totals in most locales with isolated 2 - 3 inch totals. To date October has been the wettest month of 2012 since April!! As skies became SCT to FEW SC afternoon, temperatures were able to rise 80F - 84F. Dew point temperatures were in the uncomfortable 65F - 70F range.

Storm total snowfall amounts were increased due to few thunderstorms at Columbia 0.6 W 0900 to 1200 CST. Over south third of Missouri storm sleet and freezing rain were dominant precipitation types. Measured amounts at Columbia 0.6 W were 9.5 inches to 11.1 inches. Although most amounts were 9.5 inches to 10.5 inches, I recorded and reporting 10.3 inches due to high water equivalent, yet NO sleet was observed.

Since the light/moderate/HEAVY SNOW occurred surface temperatures 33F, although 925mb/850mb temperatures were just below 0C, low/mid level flux that provided deep moisture convergence originated over north MS/west TN/west KY, the H2O content of the SNOW was extremely high, notably Columbia 0.6 W. The extremely high H2O content and nirtheast winds 10-15mph gusts 20-30mph, several brief power outages and downed small tree limbs occurred during the heaviest snowfall.

I am recovering/still having followup treatments for lower right calf cellulitis lower left calf laceration and MUST be concerned about further injuries. Due to compation, depth of total now on the ground was 7.5 inches at the time of this report. As CoCoRaHS will note from this edited report, my 4 inch gage outer cylinder was finally recovered late afternoon 3/25/2013, its content melted and the more accurate H2O equivalent determined. 0.03 inch 12midnight/06UTC to 0120CST was very light RAIN.

Minor street/field flooding occurred over central sections while more notable flash flooding and isolated severe weather occurred over central and south sections. The 24 hour correction to 2.21 is made when when I read and emptied my 4 inch gauge. There was a significant difference my Davis Instruments Vasntage Pro gauge and the 4 inch gauge which is not usually the case. The periods of heavy rain resulted in this difference.
