Beautiful humid morning. mostly clear.A few wispy Cirrus. high/low temps:86.9ºF/62.5ºF. What a storm last night! Thunder & lightning show started here at 2330 - all to the N actually, (when dog awakened me), and rain followed eventually, starting with large slow drops for ~ 10 min 2350, then it really broke loose. T&L were not quite continuous, but almost. HUGE ground to cloud streaks as well as cloud to cloud. T&L were each right after the other alternately. Wind, too, to abt 22.5 from E. Rain waxed and waned several times. I think in the middle was a little small hail, but could not tell for sure. Finally finished abt 01:45 (At least that is when the dog laid down.!) Gutters were running, so I'm sure the flood ditches filled, but can't see from here. Debris at intersection. |

Abt 1930 was VERY DARK to the N. As we sat in a restaurant from 1930-2000, a cloud moved in from the N, Very low-slung. white at first then turning grayer, moved straight southward, and obliterated our view of the valley. We were on the eastern edge apparently, but the clouds were moving so fast, we could literally see them "running" past. Rain for us was not really hard, light,tho it wet the streets after 2030, when we arrived home. The streak lightning to the west was awesome - again. The power went out where we were for ~ 10min about 1945. This month alone we have had 4 1/3" rain!! Not the most, but near the top of the list. |

(0705-1000} RAIN is not exactly the word I have for the storm that started at 2234, however.! It started as rain, then later@ 2243 turned to pea-sized hail for 2 min., then a "roaring torrent" for 5-10 min, then back to just rain, then almost stopped. There were at least three more "waves" like that: 2305;2400; and one I heard later (didn't look at clock). The wind really picked up with a couple of them. Since Tues 0700: we have had 5.31" (5 report days) of rain. That is more than I can remember except one July abt 3 yrs ago had >6.0" in the WHOLE MONTH. Heavy washouts in some parts of town/counties neighboring. Clouding up again as I write this, with thunder to SE over/beyond East of the Manzano Mts. |

60ºF. Mostly clear with one patch of clouds moving N/NE along the Sandia Mts. low enough so that the top third of the South peak is covered. The surface wind , tho only ~ 5, is from the SE, so upper winds must be from S/SW! Interesting obsv: the sky was totally blue, with no clouds, until a certain point near the southern end of visible mts. The water vapor started condensing(?)and clouds formed right at that spot, which then moved on along with the rest over the mts. and either coalesced or grew larger as they moved N. It was fascinating to watch the clouds form "out of nowhere. High 81ºF. |

63.2ºF. (Min 61.5ºF.) High:81.5ºF. The rain was a thunderstorm at 0310, when the dog woke us. Lots of lightning. Lasted 'til~0340. There had been lightning in the far west as early as 2000. It sounded as if there was hail initially, maybe marble sized. By the time I got to window, there were only a few bounces. Lasted <1 min. |

46.8ºF. (=Low, also) Totally clear. Totally clam. Very nice morning! Coolish - guess Autumn is here. Nice (my dog didn't think so!) rain/T-storm last evening. Four periods of rain that started at 1810. 1817 hardest, with one terrific lightning/thunder crack that knocked cable off air for a while. Total for first period of rain (1810-1825) was 0.19". Second period restarted at 1921. Two more - at least - after that. Don't think it was raining at 2230. |
