11/26/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Cold air drainage causes our location to consistently outstrip estimates for overnight lows. Today is no exception. The 07:00 temp was just over 19F and the air remains extremely dry (DP~11F). It appears that we'll be stuck with the dry conditions for a while.
11/27/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M A thin veil of high cloud has helped keep the overnight temps up (T~26F). Dew point is also up a bit this morning (~20F) as evidenced by visible light frost on the car. Still no rain!

11/29/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Same old story re: the rain gauge--empty! Patchy clouds helped keep temps up during the overnight hours. They slowly stepped down from the freezing point at midnight till now (T~22F). Air continues to be very dry (DP~12F). Unfortunately the outlook appears to be for more of the same.
11/30/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M First, still no rain/snow! In spite of some clouds, temps have been in the mid-to-low 20s since midnight (07:00 temp was ~22F), with a bit more moisture in the air (DP~17F). No real change in sight.

12/10/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The winds associated with yesterday's frontal passage seems to have blown the snow elsewhere. The air mass behind the front is rather cold (currently ~13F) and very dry. The current dew point is ~ -6F! At least some parts of the state got some decent snowfall.
12/11/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Still no rain/snow at our location. Calm winds and variable skies since the midnight hour resulted in temps bouncing from the high-to-low teens and back. The 07:00 temp here was ~19F. Apparent moisture levels have also been increasing slowly since yesterday morning. Dew point broke through the 0F mark during mid afternoon. Increase has continued slowly overnight. DP @ 07:00 was 9F. Looks like our next chance for moisture will come in later this week.

6/1/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Today is the 1st of June. That means there's only a month to go till the nominal start of our Monsoon Season. Let's hope this one's a good one! After topping out at ~89F yesterday afternoon, the local temperature fell slowly overnight reaching the lo-40s earlier (~06:00) this morning. While the dew points held near ~40F during the day yesterday, they too, fell to below ~20F overnight. Mercifully, the winds are supposed to be much lighter today. Still looks like a chance for showers later this weekend.
6/2/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Yesterday afternoon's 90F high, single-digit humidity and near zero(F) dew points were followed by an evening wind shift and clouds. These helped to keep the temperatures in the low-70s into the early morning hours followed by very slow cooling to the lo-60s. Overnight also saw the dew points creeping back up into the low 30s(F). There appears to be a reasonable chance of showers later today and tonight. Let's hope they come to pass!!

After peaking at ~89F during the 14:00 hour yesterday, the temperature declined very slowly, holding in the lo-60s to upper 50s since the midnight hours. Wind shift to the SW during the early PM hours then resulted in DP falling rapidly to below ~10F. It looks like today will feature more dry winds and a high which should exceed yesterday's (~94F). Precipitation outlook is murky at best.
6/5/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M There are reports of overnight shower activity in the Albuquerque area. If there was, it bypassed our location. However, the outlook for the next three days suggests afternoon and evening activity. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
6/6/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M In spite of a dew point above 40F and shower activity (complete with watches and warnings) scattered around the state, our location saw nothing. Outlook for today suggests the possibility of more activity this afternoon. Let's see if we can get a piece of the action!
6/7/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Again, there are reports of overnight showers in the Albuquerque area but, none here. After a long, slow overnight cool-down, this morning presented us with an 06:00 temperature of ~53F, RH~83% and a dew point of ~49F. Too bad we can't seem to tap into some of this!
6/8/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Missed the boat again! All we got was some early evening winds and dust.
6/9/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Sorry I'm late! Again, nothing in the line of rainfall to report. 6/23/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Breezy, warm (~96F) and dry (DP near 0F) yesterday afternoon. In spite of afternoon highs making it to the mid-to-upper 90s, overnight lows at our location have been in the mid-40s for the past few days! There does not seem to be any rain on the immediate horizon.
6/24/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Continued dry with no real change in site. Following a ~95F high (with single-digit dew points) yesterday afternoon, clouds helped keep the overnight lows up a bit (~52F).
6/25/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M In spite of a mid-to-upper level moisture stream and high clouds, yesterday afternoon was quite warm (~97F). With the heat came the dry breezes, very low humidity and below-zero late-afternoon dew points. The outlook for today is more of the same,

6/30/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M Sorry I'm late but, the site wouldn't accept any reporting. Threatening late afternoon skies delivered only breezes and a bare trace of rain. Wit the dew point holding in the hi-40s, Maybe today will be better.

7/14/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M A little lightning and thunder and a little breeze, but no rain. With a retrograde low approaching, things may be about to change. After a surprisingly warm (~97F @ ~16:40) afternoon yesterday, the overnight cool down was very slow. Temperatures did not reach the mid-60s until the 0500 hour today. With a morning dew point of ~57F, the air remains quite wet.
7/15/2013 7:00 AM 0.06 M M M M After another very warm (T~99F) afternoon, the evening commenced with a couple of hours of light showers. Shower activity brought a rapid cool down dropping temps to the mid-70s to the upper 60s overnight. With a dew point holding a bit above 60F, and a low pressure system approaching from the east there may be some more rain on tap for today.
7/16/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It appears that Mother Nature neither read nor listened to yesterday's heavy rainfall forecasts. The day was, however, surprisingly cool. Temperatures remained in the 70s throughout the day and fell slowly into the low 60s during the overnight hours. In spite of a slightly drier atmosphere (DP currently at ~50F) the chances for rainfall seem to bit a bit better today. We'll have to wait and see!
7/17/2013 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M Although posted data suggest pretty significant and widespread rainfall activity, our gauge was only able to muster 0.01" overnight. Cool morning temp (~57F) and a dew point of ~55F resulted in a heavy dew this morning. Let's see what today has to offer.
7/18/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Missed us again! After a pleasantly warm afternoon (~83F), mostly clear skies and gentle breezes allowed the overnight low temps to fall into the lo-60s. In spite of the infiltration of somewhat drier air into the area, the surface dew point at our location has held in the low-to-mid 50s throughout the day yesterday and the overnight hours. Chances for rain today look a bit iffy--we'll have to wait and see.
7/19/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Still no rain but, happy Friday anyway! Even though our favorite weather system would not cooperate (at least for our area), the atmospheric moisture level appears to be on the increase. After holding near the mid-50s all week, the dew point has been slowly increasing since midnight. It currently sits at ~61F. Maybe today's the day!!
7/20/2013 7:00 AM 0.09 M M M M We remained on the fringes of some pretty impressive shower activity yesterday. Our location experienced a light shower beginning @ ~16:00 that lasted about an hour. It delivered 0.03" in the gauge. Light shower activity began again during the 23:00 hour and persisted on and off through the 06:00 hour this morning. The overnight rainfall (from the automated station) was ~0.06". At 07:00 this morning the gauge contained a grand total of just over 0.09". Looks like today will give us another chance!
7/21/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Flash flood watches and warnings had almost everyone in our general area watching and waiting. While some (like Santa Clara) saw a frightening amount of runoff, our location was left high and dry. Clouds and very light winds resulted in a slow overnight cool down. Early morning temp was in the mid-60s with the dew point still holding at ~60F. Watches are still in effect so it's another wait and see day.
7/22/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Not a drop! Along with afternoon temps climbing to the mid-90s, the dew point slowly sagged into the low 50s during the day and evening hours. It, in turn, rebounded to the upper 50s during the overnight, sitting at ~57F @ 06:00 this morning.
7/23/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Yesterday was another warm (T~97F), drier (DP~50F) and rainless day. The overnight cool down was a bit slow, temp not reaching the 60s until the 0300 hour. The dew point, however, has rebounded to the upper 50s. Today looks to be even warmer with less of a chance for rain.
7/24/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M Another very warm afternoon yesterday. Temp at our location reached just under 100F at about 16:30. A very brief shower moved in around 18:20 and although looking promising, delivered only a good trace (bottom of the gauge covered). Although the dew point remains in the mid-50s, today promises to be better--we'll see!
7/25/2013 7:00 AM 0.08 M M M M Rainfall began as a light shower at ~14:00. Rain continued on and off till ~15:00, delivering 0.08" to the gauge. Although the sky looked promising through the later afternoon and evening, no more measurable rain fell at our location. A nice side effect of the showers was a delightful cool down. The temp fell from ~92F to ~72F during the 1400 hour. The temps then fell slowly into the mid-60s during the overnight hours. Let's see what today brings!
7/26/2013 7:00 AM 0.52 M M M M (To improve clarity, I've decided to revise this entry after spending the better part of the day running errands and thinking about it.). After a very pleasant afternoon (which felt like late-September), signs of activity began to build into the nighttime hours. By the 2200 hour we experienced the beginnings of what would become an impressive lightning show. In addition, ABX radar began showing a buildup of echos. Our automated station indicates measurable rainfall began during the 23:00 hour with the heaviest rainfall occurring during the 0100-0200 hours. This coincides with being awakened by three NOAA Weather Radio flash-flood warnings and a single tornado warning (for central Barnalillo County) during the same time period. When emptied at 07:00 this morning, the rain gauge contained a total of 0.52". Let's see what today has in store for us! As of this revision (16:00), shower activity is beginning to form.
7/27/2013 7:00 AM 1.85 M M M M Finally, a rainfall total that's really worth writing home about and what happens? The power went out at ~19:40 last evening and and took everything with it! It stayed off until about ten minutes ago (~16:00). Last evening treated us to more than an hour of heavy, wind-driven rain and hail. The total accumulation at our location was 1.85"!!
7/28/2013 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M A brief shower seem to have passed through during the overnight hours depositing 0.01" of rain in the gauge. Even though a drying trend is looming for our area, this morning's dew point remains in the lo-60s. This coupled with an early morning temperature also in the lo-60s, made for lots of heavy dew.
7/29/2013 7:00 AM 0.16 M M M M The first of yesterday's shower activity occurred during the 1200 hour and delivered 0.06". This was followed by another at ~18:15 and lasted ~20-minutes, delivering 0.08". Finally, another light shower appeared during the early morning hours today and produced an additional 0.02". Total for the last 24-hours in 0.16". Along with the late afternoon shower came a rapid cool down, the temp dropping ~15F in ~30-minutes. Temps continued to fall overnight reaching the low 60s during the 0400 hour. The dew point, which peaked at near 70F during the afternoon yesterday is still holding near 60F.
7/30/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Not only is there no rain to report but, the drying trend has arrived! Dew points fell to the mid-to-upper 40s during the day and evening yesterday. After cooling down into the mid-50s overnight, the dew point has rebounded a bit currently sitting in the mid-50s. Let's see what the next day or so bring.
7/31/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Let's fix this up. This time, I'll try to not hit the Reset Button! No rainfall to report. Yesterday continued the warming/drying trend. The afternoon temp peaked at ~94F at~17:00. At the same time, both the RH and DP hit their minimums for the day (~21% & 49F respectively). Apparently a pulse of cool(er), moist air had penetrated the area causing the temp to fall (@ ~10F/hr) and both the RH & DP to begin rising. The temp continued to fall, reaching ~61F @ ~05:00. Both the RH & DP continued to rise (in see-saw fashion) throughout the evening and early morning hours. The DP peaked @ ~60F near midnight while the RH maxed at ~87% around 03:00. Both the RH & the DP then began to fall reaching ~60% and ~50F (respectively) at ~06:00. More moisture is expected to come in today--maybe it'll even rain!
8/1/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Happy First of August! Shower activity continues in the general area but, none at our location. All and all, July was a pretty good rainfall month for us. If I've added it correctly, the grand total measured here was 4.11"!!
8/2/2013 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M August is off to a good start! Let's see if it continues. After reaching the high-80s during the mid-afternoon yesterday, during the 16:00 hour, the sky really looked promising. However, the shower skated by several miles to the west of our location. While out, later in the evening, the fringes of another good looking shower delivered 0.02" of rainfall during the 20:00 hour. With the shower, the temperature fell quite nicely, reaching the upper 60s by midnight. Early morning (06:00 temp was ~63F along with a dew point of ~61F. Let's see what today brings.
8/3/2013 7:00 AM 0.33 M M M M Gentle rainfall started ~20:30 and increased in intensity during the remainder of the 2000 hour and into the 2100 hour. Rainfall tapered off by ~21:15 and sprinkled lightly until sometime after 22:00. Winds remained light during the rainfall. Post shower temps fell into the 60s making for a delightfully cool night.
8/4/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Showers in our general locale were few and far between yesterday, resulting in a big goose egg in our gauge this morning! After spending most of yesterday afternoon and early evening near or at ~90F, the temps settled into the 70s by the 2100 hour and into the 60s overnight. After dipping into the upper 50s during the afternoon, the dew point has been holding in the low 60s overnight. The short term outlook suggests a slightly better chance for rain today. Keep your fingers crossed!
8/5/2013 7:00 AM 0.32 M M M M UPDATE: The skies yesterday afternoon and early evening ranged from promising to threatening and back but produced no rain at our location. During the 2000 hour, the sky to the west began to darken and radar echos began to appear. At ~20:30, very light rainfall began. At ~ 20:00 the rain really turned on delivering over 0.3" (automated station) in about 15 minutes, prompting a Significant Weather Report. The rainfall slowed and stopped at ~21:30. The gauge contained 0.32" this morning. The shower activity apparently ushered in a cooler air mass. The temperature fell quickly from ~80F @ 20:00 to the mid 60s, where it remained for the rest of the evening and through the overnight hours. The dew point remains in the lo-60s this morning and the available data suggests a continued influx of moisture. Maybe we'll get some more rain!
8/6/2013 7:00 AM 0.19 M M M M Rainfall began as a light sprinkle at ~17:30. By ~17:38, the rainfall became heavy and mixed with pea-sized hail (Hail Report filed.). The activity was all over by ~17:55 and that was it for the night. It sounds like today may well bring even better chances of rain!
8/7/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After what looked to be a serious threat of rain, the darkening skies delivered only a brief spray of rainfall during the 1700 hour yesterday. It was detectable only by the ever present dust layer on the car windshield. On the upside, the lack of rain in our area spared the participants in the annual "Neighbors Night Out" a washout! Even though we missed out on the rain, temperatures cooled markedly. After reaching a high of ~90F during the 1400 hour yesterday, the temps fell to the upper 60s by the 2100 hour last night. Light winds and mostly clear skies overnight allowed the temperature to fall slowly into the upper 50s during the early morning hours today. The dew point here, is still hovering just under 60F. Let's see what today brings.
8/8/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall to report! Passing weather system teased us for the bulk of the day yesterday but delivered nothing but some clouds and breezes. It also provided us with another nice cool evening and night. With the possibility of drier air moving into our area there is additional uncertainty associated with our rain prospects. We'll have to wait and see!
8/9/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Could this be the calm before the rains? Drier air infiltrated our area during the day yesterday. Following an unusually cool morning (T in the 70s until after noon), the dew point declined steadily reaching the mid-40s during the late afternoon hours. Unlike previous days this week, last night's cool down was slow, the temp remaining in the mid-upper 60s throughout most of the night. The dew point also remained in the upper 40s reaching ~50F during the 0600 hour. Currently available information suggests we are currently outside of the mainstream moisture flow. Things can change and the official outlook for more rainfall looks positive.
8/10/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another rainless day! Temps yesterday climbed into the low-90s during the late afternoon. The dew point, however, remained in the mid-40s well into the overnight hours. It climbed into the 50s after midnight and was ~53F @ 07:00 this morning.
8/11/2013 7:00 AM 0.10 M M M M Unlike areas to the West and North of us which received warning-level rains, winds and hail, our showers were very subdued. Light rainfall activity, with light to moderate breezes, began during the 1900 hour and continued on and off through the night. Our automated station indicated the last measurable rainfall occurred during the midnight hour. The total accumulation in the gauge was 0.10". Let's see what today brings.
8/12/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M Win some, lose some! In spite of broadcast reports of shower activity in our general area, all we could muster here is a bare trace. The sky is cloud covered, the ground-level dew point is still holding at just under 60F and this morning's satellite imagery suggests some increased moisture flow. We'll see what today brings. Keep your fingers crossed!
8/13/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M In spite of promising looking skies yesterday afternoon, we received only a trace of rain. During the late 1700 hour, radar showed a train of small, but potentially heavy showers streaming eastbound just north of the Bernalillo/Sandoval county line. Unfortunately, they either ran of steam or were too far south to do our location any good!
8/14/2013 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M A brief, light shower popped up around 15:40 yesterday afternoon delivering 0.01" of rain. Unfortunately, the shower arrived about an hour after I finished spraying weeds! In spite of high cloud cover before midnight and light winds throughout the night, temps here fell into the mid-50s. The dew point here, continues to hold in the mid 50s.
8/15/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Nothing in the gauge this morning but a dead fly! An impressive looking shower cruised by to the north of us during the mid-afternoon yesterday but, that was the extent of the activity. Our mid August rainfall total is a bit behind that for mid-July (0.97" vs. 1.39"). Maybe the monsoonal flow will come back to life this weekend into next week.
8/16/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Happy Friday! Another rainless day followed by a nice, cool night. After reaching a high of ~92F during the 1500 hour yesterday, the temperature dropped into the upper 60s by the 2100 hour last night. It continued to fall slowly into the 50s reaching ~54F @ 06:43 this morning. The dew point has also been on the decline, staying in the hi-40s and lo-50s. At 06:00 this morning, it was ~52F. 'Hope this isn't the start of a serious drying trend!
8/17/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Although there have been reports of shower activity in the Albuquerque vicinity, there has been none at our location. Yesterday was a bit more summer-like with an afternoon high of ~96F. Evening cooling, however, was slow, only reaching the mid-70s during the 2000 hour. Cloud cover increased raising the temperature to the lo-8os during the 2100-2200 hours. The slow cooling then resumed dropping temperatures into the lo-70s. The dew point which has been in a slow decline for most of the week fell to ~40F yesterday evening. This morning's (~50F) is the lowest it has been in weeks! Although a bit uncertain, the outlook calls for increased moisture during the next week. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
8/18/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M Along with an afternoon high of ~97F came a dew point sagging into the lo-40s. A very brief, mid-afternoon spray of rain delivered a trace which quickly evaporated. Sometime during the overnight hours came an additional trace of rain. There was nothing but another dead bug in the gauge but the trace was clearly evidenced on the car windshields! Things are still promising to moisten up. We'll see.
8/19/2013 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M After another summer-like day (T~96F) followed by very slow evening cooling, a late evening (2200 hr) shower delivered just over 0.005" of rain to the gauge. Broadcast weather reports notwithstanding, it looks (for the moment, at least) like our monsoon pattern is faltering. Say it isn't so!!
8/20/2013 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M Everybody's talking about it! A tropical system may pay us a visit later in the week and deliver some "real" rainfall. In the mean-time, another warm (T~97F), sunny afternoon gave way to some threatening skies. A very brief shower deposited ~0.01" in the gauge during the 16:00 hour and then quit. We'll see what today brings.
8/21/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M It's almost too small to report but, a brief (<1-min) spray of rain delivered a visible trace during the 1700 hour and that was it for our location. The dew point here has been slowly dropping, remaining in the mid-50s yesterday and during the overnight hours. Looks like our chances for rain today are iffy at best. We'll see.
8/22/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall to report. Things looked quite promising around mid-day yesterday (dark skies and rumbling thunder) but that's all we got. Things cooled down nicely from a high of ~92F reaching the lo-60s during the early morning hours today. The dew point here is still holding in the mid 50s. Looks like our slice of the monsoon is still taking time off!
8/23/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Nothing but dust in the rain gauge! The available information strongly suggests rather dry air has arrived in our general area. The dew point here has been in the upper 40s and falling since last evening. Currently, it's sitting at ~45F. At the moment, the rainfall outlook doesn't look very promising!
8/24/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Nothing to report! In spite of teasingly promising skies yesterday, rainfall was limited to other parts of the state. It looks like TS IVO's moisture is going to pass us by as well!!
8/25/2013 7:00 AM 0.11 M M M M A series of three very brief (~5-min ea.) showers appeared out of generally cloudy skies during the 17:00 hour yesterday. They delivered 0.03" to the gauge. Another shower began during the 2000 hour which lasted ~15-20 min or so. It produced an additional 0.08" for a total of 0.11". After reaching a high of ~84F during the afternoon, the temperature fell into the 60s by the 2100 hour and remained in the 60s overnight. At 06:00 this morning the temp was ~64F with a dew point of 62F. The sky remains cloudy and the radar show shower activity to the west of us. Maybe we'll get some more today!
8/26/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another rainless day! Although showers were clearly visible nearby (especially toward the Sandias), they just couldn't get here from there. If that weren't bad enough, an influx of dry air today looks like it will force the showers to take another day off. Things might get a bit better tomorrow! We'll have to wait and see.
8/27/2013 7:00 AM 0.16 M M M M A shower drifted in from the east around 18:30 yesterday evening and simultaneously delivered rain, lightning, thunder and a brief power outage all under bright sun shining in from the west! The temperatures fell rapidly after the shower reaching the hi-60s by 19:00. With the help of mostly clear skies and calm winds, the temperatures stayed in the 60s overnight finally falling into the hi-50s during the early morning hours. The dew point at our location is holding at ~55F this morning. Let's see what today brings.
8/28/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall to report. After a warm (T~91F), relatively dry (RH~30%) afternoon, the evening temperatures fell rapidly, reaching the lo-70s by the 2000 hour. Mostly clear skies and calm winds allowed the temperatures to continue falling, reaching the mid-50s during the early morning hours today. The dew point is continuing its slow decline, sitting @ ~53F this morning. Rumors of increasing moisture have been circulating since last evening. Keep your fingers crossed!
8/29/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Nothing to report! Another warm (T~91F) and a bit dry (RH~30%/DP in the mid-50s) day. Clouds and breezes moved in during the evening hours resulting in a slow drop in the temperature, reaching the mid-60s during the early morning hours today. Overnight, the dew point has been slowly rising reaching ~60F this morning. With more moisture reportedly on the move, things may be looking up. We'll have to wait and see.
8/30/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another rainless, warm (T~90F) and relatively dry (RH in the mid-30s) day. Temperatures fell slowly into the mid-70s by the 2200 hour last night and then slipped into the mid-to-low 60s after midnight. The dew point has been holding in the mid-to-upper 50s, sitting @ ~57F @ 06:00 this morning. Rainfall activity today looks to be less likely than yesterday--we'll see!
8/31/2013 7:45 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Nothing in the rain gauge and it's looking like we'll be left high and dry (and hot) today! The outlook is for improving chances for rainfall as we get further into the weekend. We'll have to wait and see.
9/1/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M While the month of August ended with a rainless, hot (T~95F) & dry (RH~25%) day! The monthly rainfall total for our location was 1.25". Not only was the last of August warm, but the overnight cool down was interrupted as September began with moderate early morning breezes and temperatures near 80F!! It appears that the outlook for some rainfall over the next couple of days is improving. We'll have to wait and see. I'm going to fire up the smoker tomorrow. That ought to help!!
9/2/2013 7:00 AM 0.03 M M M M Happy Labor Day! September's first day treated us to a couple of brief sprinkles. The first, during the mid-2000 hour, delivered 0.02"; while the second, during the midnight hour, deposited an additional 0.01". Today may bring us a bit more!
9/3/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M In spite of threatening skies, the rumble of distant thunder and a couple of flash-flood warnings, there was no immediate sign of shower activity at our location. The short-term outlook is pretty bleak unless, of course, you're a fan of dry weather!
9/4/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M The fringes of a shower cruising by to our south, delivered a brief (<1 min.) spray of rainfall @ around 19:30. It was followed by a nice cool down with temperatures reaching the upper 60s by the 2300 hour last night. The dew point has also been falling. It currently sits at ~51F. It looks like it'll be a while before more rainfall heads our way!
9/5/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall to report! Everywhere you look all you see is dry (at least for the next couple of days). The dew point this morning was only ~43F. Maybe next week will bring us better chances for rain. After a summer-like afternoon high of ~93F, the temps were quite slow to fall, staying near 80F until the 2300 hour. The breezes subsided during the early morning hours allowing the temp to fall into the mid-50s. It appears today will be a copy of yesterday.
9/6/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another warm (T~92F), dry (P.M. RHs <20%) day followed by a delightfully cool night. The temperatures have been in the 60s since the late 2000 hour last night and the mid-50s since the 0300 hour this morning. With a dew point around 40F, there doesn't seem to be much moisture around. Things may improve after the weekend. We'll have to wait and see!
9/7/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another rainless day! Yesterday, the dew point remained at or below the lo-50s. Today (so far) it has been in the hi-40s. The dry air, along with clear skies and calm winds have made for another cool night. After falling into the 60s during the 2100 hour last night, the overnight temperatures here were in the mid-50s since the 0100 hour. Looks like the chances for rain in the next couple of days are pretty slim!
9/8/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Although there was some significant late afternoon shower activity near the ABQ airport, our location missed out again. We did, however, get another delightfully cool night with temperatures hovering in the mid-to-upper 50s since the 0100 hour. The dew point has fallen back a bit, staying in the upper 40s overnight. At 07:00 it was ~48F. Rumor has it that rainfall chances are on the verge of a serious increase over the next few days. Let's wait and see.
9/9/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M A light shower came up out of nowhere around 17:20 and lasted off and on for ~25 min. It delivered a good trace of rain (bottom of the gauge covered). Looks like there may be some serious rainfall in our future.
9/10/2013 7:00 AM 0.05 M M M M Light shower began around 21:00 tapering off to very light rainfall. It lasted about 20-minutes or so. Brace yourself, today may be a bit different! Current radar suggests the rain is on the way! We'll see how much reaches the ground at our location.
9/11/2013 7:00 AM 0.75 M M M M Brief shower during the 0900hr delivered ~0.3". Steady rainfall began ~14:00 and continued through the afternoon and off & on into the evening hours. Total rainfall was 0.75". More today??
9/12/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The moisture flow and showers took the day off (at our location). After an afternoon high of ~85F under picture pretty skies, the temps fell quickly, reaching the lo-70s during the 1900 hour. Overnight, the temps fell into the upper 50s (~58F @ 06:00)with an almost identical dew point (~57F), giving us a very heavy dew. Today looks like it may be wet. We'll see.
9/13/2013 7:00 AM 1.03 M M M M Nice rainy Thursday! Off and on rainfall beginning during the 0900 hour. Occasional rain shower activity continued throughout the day. Almost continuous light rain during the evening and overnight hours. It is currently raining with more apparently on the way!
9/14/2013 7:00 AM 1.27 M M M M Yesterday started out with promise with 0.42" collected between 07:00 & 09:00 from continuing Thursday overnight rain. The rainfall then tapered off to a drizzle delivering only a good trace (<0.005") from 09:00 till 12:00. The day remained rainless with occasional sunshine through the afternoon. Shower activity resumed during the 0200 hour and continued into the 0600 hour this morning. Radar currently indicates additional showers advancing toward our area.
9/15/2013 7:00 AM 0.75 M M M M Continuation of Friday night's rainfall deposited 0.03" into the gauge during the 0700hr on Saturday. Things were very quiet (rainfall wise) during the day and evening on Saturday. Shower activity began again during the 2300hr last night (along with WX Warnings, loud thunder and a brilliant lightning display). It continued through the 0100hr this morning, giving up an additional 0.72" of rain!
9/16/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M The showers appear to have taken the day off at our location (providing only an overnight trace of moisture). Nonetheless. the rainfall total (at our location) halfway through the month came in at 3.88". Another cool morning with temps again in the mid-50s. I think I'm beginning to understand the probable fate of all the green tomatoes and small peppers on plants that staged a remarkable comeback from a July hail attack! Still a chance for more showers today. We'll see!
9/17/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Other than a heavy dew, no other sign of moisture. After another cool night (T in mid-50s since midnight), it looks like we're going into a dry out for a few days.
9/18/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall to report. Mostly clear skies and light winds overnight kept the temperature in the low-60s since the 00hr. By all accounts, the atmosphere is beginning to dry a bit. However, the ground-level dew point at our location (and the surrounding area) remains near 60F.
9/19/2013 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M Shower with breezes up to 10Kts moved through during the 0300 hr this morning. The ground-level dew point (currently @ ~57F) has been slowly decreasing. The outlook is for more dry air to enter the area over the next day or so.
9/20/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall to report. Dry air seems to be having its way with us. Dew point fell into the 40s yesterday afternoon and sits @ ~50F this morning.
9/21/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall to report. Another fall-like morning with temps in the lo-50s and with the RH~95%, a very heavy dew. Looks like we're going to continue drying out. We'll see.
9/22/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Fall is definitely poking its nose in. After reaching ~81F yesterday PM, the temperature fell rather slowly until the 0100hr, when it began falling rapidly into the 50s. It is currently ~52F. The ground-level dew point has been holding at ~50F. If the current outlook pans out, that should begin to change!
9/23/2013 7:00 AM 0.11 M M M M We saw the fringes of two quick showers during the early evening. They delivered a total of 0.11" of rain. Yesterday's cold front was quite effective. Temperatures fell into the 50s by the 2100 hour last night and ended up in the low-40s this morning. Along with the cool weather came some additional drying. Tge early morning dew point here was ~41F.
9/24/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall! Officialdom promised dry air and dry air we got! Afternoon RH and DP fell into the 20s and 30s respectively. After reaching only ~74F during the 1600hr, temps fell steadily into the evening and overnight hours reaching the lo-40s this AM. Ground-level currently DP sits at ~41F. No rainfall in sight.
9/25/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rainfall and it looks like moisture (other than morning dew) might be a bit hard to find for the next couple of days. After a delightfully warm (T~77F), dry RH~30%) day, the evening temps fell rapidly. They have been in the mid-40s since the midnight hour. The ground-level DP at our location has been holding in the mid-40s.
9/26/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M No rain! Another nice warm day. After reaching a low of ~44F, the temp quickly climbed to the hi-70s by noon, peaking at ~84F during the 1700hr. PM RH fell into the hi-20s. Overnight, light winds allowed the temps to fall into the mid-40s again. Today looks to be warm, dry and windy!
9/27/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Still no rain! Other than some winds, we had another nice warm day yesterday. Temps peaked at ~83F while the mid afternoon RH dropped into the lo-20% range. Today is slated to bring some more winds and cooler temps. We'll have to wait and see if we get some shower activity.
9/28/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M Three very brief sprays of rainfall around 17:30 yesterday afternoon delivered a trace of rain, which quickly evaporated. Overnight cold was promised and cold it was. Temps have been in the 30s since the 0300hr this morning producing some real frost!
9/29/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M After a chilly (T~32F), frosty start, yesterday turned into an absolutely delightful day with lots of sunshine and light winds. After reaching a high of ~70F at our location, the temps began to fall rapidly, reaching the 50s by the 1900hr and the 40s by the 2000hr. Temps then fell more slowly, reaching the 30s by the 0100hr this morning. The dew point is also sliding, sitting @ ~31F this morning. It appears that quiet, warmer weather is in the offing. Doesn't look like there's much of a chance for rain.

1/26/2013 1/28/2013 7:45 AM 3 0.12 0.0 0.00 We were out of town for the weekend and got home late last night. We missed the rain. The gauge recorded only a little over an inch. That's better than nothing! It looks like it all occurred on Saturday. In spite of the cloudy skies yesterday (Sunday), the ground appears to be a bit dry this morning. The gauge may have lost some water due to evaporation. There may be more on the way today.

In spite of morning lows in the mid-40s, the afternoon temperatures have reached the low-to-mid 90s. Along with the warm temps, the humidity has fallen to <5% and the dew points tended to 0F! More slated for today.
6/15/2013 6/22/2013 7:00 AM 8 0.00 M M Sorry for my absence. I was in the hospital recovering from a collapsed lung! There was no sign of measurable rainfall while I was gone. It's now time to clean all the new dust out of the gauge and get ready for what (hopefully) may be coming!!
