Here in NE AR a true fall day. Cool, cloudy, a little rain shower off and on. The color is slow to come. Dogwoods with a red blush, hickory hint of yellow, and our maples range from reds to dark red almost purple. A shrub, Almond Bush has 3 yellow leaves soon all the leaves will be yellow. |

The storm rolled in about 11 pm on Wednesday night. Most of the storm is out of the NE AR area. The system split as it hit the Ridge and we received gusting winds and a little rain no thunder, or lightening or the real heavy rains as expected. |

NE AR did not get the rain or storm that hit south of our little town. High winds did damage across AR. We had high gusting winds and temperatures went from 70s to 50s. 1 Nov here is a true fall day. Just now able to post earlier recording due to storm. Low last night 24 current temp at 7 a.m. 23. Thursday was warm temp of 61. Misting rain off and on all day. 10:30 p.m. sleet mixed with rain began by day light Friday it was pure sleet. Sleet turned to snow at 12:15 p.m.. By night fall there was 2 inches of snow over a 1/4 inch of ice.
The 0.94 was recorded by adding warm water to melt the ice and deducting that to get the total moisture content. |

My outdoor thermometer read 7 degrees this am! Current temp is at 25 degrees now at 11:34 am. The same amount of snow is still on the ground as we had yesterday. No new precipitation at this time but snow mix is predicted. With the freeze last night it is much more dangerous out on the frozen snow. I purchased cleats at Goodwill for this very weather. Here 7 degrees, clear, frost freeze. Every state in the U.S.A. except Hawaii is affected by the polar vortex. This is when the wind stream from the North Pole comes down with fridged air and brings snow and single didget temperatures. Sunday light sleet began to fall about 10 am changing to snow about 12:30. Then the rest of the day the weather went from snow to sleet off an on snow to sleet. Then for about 3 hours there was steady sleet until 8 pm. The temperature never was above freezing. The over night low was 17 and current temp is 29. Bright sun an very little wind. There was a lot of sleet but it never covered our oak leaves or power lines. The final accumulation 2 1/2 inches of snow with a 1/4 inch of ice beneath. |

Low temp 19 high 24. Yesterday all day freezing rain and freezing drizzle. The temperature was below freezing all day in the low 20's. Ice formed on trees causing ice accretion. The reading was only a glazing. The ice formed around the limbs and leaves not even weighing them down and hardly noticeable. Had to review Training in CoCoRaHS to make sure report was correct. Reporting new and old snow was difficult. The ice crust on top to the old snow caused settling to 1 1/2 inches of current snow on the ground. 2.5 was the snow accumulation from the Sunday snow fall that was reported on Monday. Still have snow with very little melting. |

Low last night was 18 and the snow moved in some time after 10 pm. Friday night. Liquid covered part of the bottom of the gauge, so T. The depth of the new snow measured about 1.5 over the melted packed 1.5 inches recorded earlier. The new snow was light fluffy and wet. Sunshine most of the day even though the temperature hovered just over freezing and the dripping sound of the ice and snow melting was the sound of spring around the corner. Ground cover of snow new and old is still 99 percent. |

Low overnight 50. The day was beautiful by evening about 3:30 light sprinkles fell. Then the storm rolled in. High wind, rolling thunder, bright lightning, heavy rain at times visibility was only a few feet. Then the rain would slack to a steady down pour. This lasted for over 4 hours. When the storm passed it was calm and cool. Friday morning bright sun and blue skies. |

Low last night 56. Sunday early a.m. no wind & light cloud cover. By 8 a.m. the wind began to gust and the sky darkened, rolling thunder started about 8:42 a.m. Light steady rain started at 9 a.m.(gauge had 0.22 at 5:30 p.m.) and continued thru the night with light to very heavy down pouring rain into early morning. Late evening and into the night rolling thunder and quite a light show from rope lightening to blast of bright flashes of lightening. The final amount of rain in the gauge was 1.87 inches. Here in NE AR we missed the many tornados that touched down in Mayflower and Vilonia AR. We had CoCoRaHS reporters there and hoping they are physically OK. Their towns and homes were destroyed. |

Hard rain fell all night slowing to a drizzle about 7:15 a.m. Thursday morning. |
