There is evidence that we had received a mixed of snow,sleet and rain prior to observation time. Thunderstorm also occurred prior to observation time. However, it was raining at observation time, and it was 34 degrees. The snow pack has melted 4 inches in two days. Driveways are flooded at the street, because of the snow still sitting in the gutter area, not allowing it to flow very fast to the inlets. A good thing, since this water flows into the Des Plaines River via the storm sewer. |

A powerful thunderstorm with very strong winds moved through the area at about 2:55pm. 0.32" rain fell in 15 minutes. While no tree damage, power outage, or flooding occurred in this neighborhood, damage and power outages did occurr in other parts of our community, and neighboring communities.On and off rain and T-storms continued into the early evening hours. Additional rain fall was 0.25". Total 24 hour totalled 0.57. |
