Yesterday was a day of summer rain in waves. From 7:30 to 10:30 a little less then an inch. Then we had two heavy intense storm waves in the afternoon with lighter rain fall into the night hours all resulting in 1 and 1/2 inches more rainfall. Backyard hold pools of water; river at Des Plaines at 13.34 projected to crest below flood stage. Combined sewers handled the water because of yards holding water and no wave of rain exceeded one inch. This AM Sun and temps in mid sixties with a good NE drying wind and some high clouds. Should be a nice day. |
