We lost 1.85 inches of snow pack water storage between Nov 23 and Nov 24 at this sampling station.

At 7:21, with a light wind, it was -28 degrees F. It bright and sunny, and the redpolls are crowding around the niger sock at the bird feeder array. There seem to be more of them every day.

There is only a trace of snow in the gauge, but closer to one inch on the cars, which is not a good estimate since it also drifts off the garage onto the cars. I am not getting a good catch in the gauge this winter, and the snow is driving on the snowfield. The most frequently encountered value today was 16 inches instead of the 14 of yesterday, and this is due to blowing and drifting. It is snowing now, and the winds are low, so I should have a better catch tomorrow.

These way below zero nights really tax the little birds.
