7/27/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M
7/28/2015 5:00 AM 0.11 0.0 M 0.0 M Cloudy and cooler temps helped the fire crews working on the fireline around Glacier Park/Going To The Sun Road (East) but not the aerial support needed to backup the fire crews. three or four main waves of moisture included heavier rain in the early afternoon averaged .02-.03 per 'storm'.
7/29/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M warming up! could this be the last big heat wave of the Montana Summer?
7/30/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M glacier fire (Reynolds) 56 pct contained. no smoke in area to speak of. Hazy hot conditions expected near 90 today!
7/31/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M after a low of 32 at Glacier overnight afternoon Highs reaching 90's in most areas. not a cloud in the sky!
8/1/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M near record highs (97) expected today. not a cloud in the sky! Warm temps and some afternoon breezes flaring up Glacier Park fire again. Going o The Sun closed east of Logan Pass to St Mary Lake, still. Officials estimate it will be late fall before fire is out.
8/2/2015 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M The smoke is back! Westerly flow setup drawing from OR/WA now, while Glacier Park continues, to burn. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10207312882650070&set=pcb.10207312884650120&type=1&theater
8/3/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M the smoke from OR and WA arrived overnight reduced VIS to 3-5 miles and gray gloom until well after dawn today.

8/5/2015 9:00 AM T 0.0 M 0.0 M Trace rain events, 4:00PM, 4:37PM, and then again 5:10AM though not measurable. the first wave (4P) actually did cover the ground, and then it was gone.
8/6/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Lake Winds were the big story for this report fairly constant 20-25MPH all day. Finally cleared out some of the smoke and haze for us. was able to photograph both sides of the lake for a change (this month)*at report time, however, some showers were passing Glacier Park and winds were forecast for 35MPH with a Lake-Wind advisory in effect.

8/8/2015 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Happy Birthday Ani. got you a beautiful sunrise! but because we live in a valley, WE dont see it til 7:00AM
8/9/2015 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M SMOKE LEVELS INCREASING AGAIN SLIGHTLY WITH A RETURN TO MORE WARM SUMMER CONDITIONS AND LIGHT AFTERNOON BREEZES
8/10/2015 9:00 AM T 0.0 M 0.0 M Afternoon thundershowers developed but not much moisture. Gusty winds and a few more fire starts I'm afraid.
8/11/2015 9:00 AM 0.02 0.0 M 0.0 M SEVERE WX OVER MISSOULA TRACKED NORTH AND UP THE LAKE EARLY EVENING HOURS, SWIRLING CLOUDTYPES WITH ROTATION BUT NOT FUNNELLS. HEAVY RAIN FOR A BRIEF PERIOD. SNOW AND GRAUPLE LEVELS DOWN TO 5-6000' AT THE TIME.
8/12/2015 9:00 AM T 0.0 M 0.0 M Late day band worked in across the lake brought us a few sprinkles and awesome mamatus before sunset. conditions remained the following sunrise (see 8/13)
8/13/2015 8:00 AM T 0.0 M 0.0 M Morning showers were mostly virga but a few drops fell over the Bigfork area under very smokey and murky skies.A trip to Glacier Park to review recent fire areas too smoeky to see the mountains from Lake McDonald.

8/15/2015 9:00 AM 0.09 0.0 M 0.0 M A number of waves passing through beginning with 0.01" of rain (12:30PM-1:00PM)2ND wave (5:05PM-5:20PM) started out as Severe over Missoula and another 0.03" and winds arrived overnight with the additional 0.05". It is cool, very breezy, and cloudy this AM 60F. One More note the car was washed yesterday between the first and second wave and it is now covered with a very fine ash/dust.
8/16/2015 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M It should be noted physically the tube shows a 'Trace' but we could find no other evidence of rain just dew on our cars and windows so we are going to call this a 'condensation event' overnight, which was plenty chilly.
8/17/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Cleared up and breezy
8/18/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M cooler temps and a northerly flow have set up over the valley with increasing smoke and haze from a multitude of fires.
8/19/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Increasing smoke component with variable winds throughout the day. 80s for Highs and 40s for lows, but the days grow shorter and the nights are getting long! (to quote Triumph)
8/20/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M smoke an haze really bad this am driving to work like driving through dense fog. no light.
8/21/2015 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M there needs to be a column for 'other' precipitate this time of year. we are seeing fine-white ash falling all day and all night (when illuminated with flashlight). seems to be accumulating steadily.
8/22/2015 8:30 AM 0.03 0.0 M 0.0 M After a wild weather day (winds, ash, vis less than a mile) NOW, it is clear and slightly breezy this AM we can see the mountains around us again! there are sailboats on the lake. Beautiful morning was the pay off after several weeks of nasty wildfire smoke.A low of 41 at the airport, slightly cooler here DP was 36 and we have dew.
8/23/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Dry conditions a low around freezing. A frost advisory was issued but i was not up at 6:55AM to check locally. The temp at Glacier Int was 33(f) about 30miles North. Meanwhile, ash and particulate from the fires can be seen near open windows. For example: https://www.facebook.com/geofscott/posts/10207473999437889?pnref=story
8/24/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M The smoke.. is definately back. a new fire has popped up 25 miles to the ESE of us near 'The Bob" and seems to be depositing midlevel plume over us (?) I can attest to a mid-night (every) decrease in humidity spike followed by change in winds and rapidly decreasing temps shortly after dark. Our weather station shows two distinct "valleys" in the Humidity graph every day, as the thermal pressure gives in and the cooler mountain air begins its decent back towards the lake.
8/25/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M smoke is back. Trace rain in town this morning (Evergreen) around 7:00AM but unsure of here at registered location.
8/26/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M The fine particulate is harder to detect but the smoke is very bad all day. at times smelling like its the house nextdoor so strong.
8/27/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M dry and smokey. hot!
8/28/2015 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M recorded ash fall from fires. seen it over past few days but not as noticeable as last night. headlights and flashlight works best.
