Rain began falling around midnight with a temp of 41 F at that time. Around 4 am began to see large clumps of snowflakes mixed in with rain. Steady moderately heavy to heavy rain yesterday throughout the day up until around 8:00 pm when rain lessened but did not completely stop. No precip from around midnight up until 2:04 am when rain began again. The bridge over Brush Creek was flooded and appeared to be completely submerged at 11:30 pm. Low-lying pasture along side of the creek was also flooded. Counting the 0.25" rain which occurred between 4 am and 8 am on the 19th, total rain for this event was 6.81 inches. |

Also had a lot of bright, continuous lightning to the north and east of us last night, and a few flashes around 11 pm to the southwest of us. Currently 66.9º with scattered clouds. Watched what appeared to be heavy bands of rain pass right by again, as it has for the past several days. We had a few drops of rain on two occasions yesterday afternoon. The first resulted in 0.01" in the gauge, the second catch was 0.02". I am able to water my garden enough to keep it alive, but nothing is growing very much due to a lack of deep watering. It is very breezy here which keeps the higher temps quite tolerable, but it very quickly dries up any moisture in the soil. Little more than traces of rain since June 9. |
