About 13:00 a light sprinkle began. At 14:30 it began to rain sporadically, somewhat harder than before. About 20:15 it began to rain very, very hard, for a toal accumlation of 1.20. The accumulation as of 17:00 was 0.13, so that the rainfall at night was 1.07.The usual puddles and the grass is lush and green. I will take a run past the Creek and the local
ponds later today. |

Trace, probably from dew. The ponds are full and the vegetation in the neighborhood looks lush and green even

Cool and dewy, but even though the gauge was covered with
dew, there was no precipitation recorded. The dogs came
in damp, which indicates just how dewy it was. I will need to begin sprinkling again. |

It must have rained just before dawn--the driveway was
wet and there were puddles in the street. The sky had
scattered clouds to the north and was completely overcast
in the southern half of the sky. The ponds are full and
Dutch Fork Creek fills its channel from bank to bank.
Water levels are high, but not exceptionally so. |

Trace. The western sky was clear this morning and a lovely peach color from the first rays of the sun.
Although we had some dew this morning, it looks like it will be a hot and dry day today. |

It was sprinkling very lightly when I looked at the gauge and it looks like it will continue to rain all morning; it is completely overcast. Although the forecast was 40% shower probability last night, the rain was still unexpected. Torrential rain is forecast
for Tuesday--let's see what happens. |

This tiny bit of precipitation is from yesterday morning's light drizzle. It is overcast today and the
shower probability was 20% as of last night. It feels like it will rain any moment. The grass is thick and green and the trees are healthy although well into
their Autumn vestige changing. |

Trace. Light dew this morning. The sky is filled with herring-bone patterned clouds. You can see the full moon through the clouds. It is supposed to rain Wednesday morning--we'll see. The heavy rainfall forecast for today (Tuesday) will not happen. |

15:30 a hard sustained rain2 began and eased about 16:00.
By 17:00 0.62 had fallen. At 18:30 a lite rain began. It
must have rained more than an inch after dark, and the
driveway was freshly wet and there were puddles. The downspouts were silent, which means it had rained sometime before dawn, giving the water time to drain
off of the rooftops. Everything is lush and green although growth is slowing down because it is Fall.
The forecast is for a fairly dry week ahead. |

This was a surprise because as far as I know, it didn't
rain a drop yesterday. I know, because I worked in the yard all morning. I got soaked from the heavy dew on the plants I was working among, but it didn't rain. I will check the ponds and the Creek again today. The grass and plants look gorgeous. |

Surprisingly, another hundredth of an inch from dew. It is foggy this morning with a high thin mist in the sky.
Ponds are beginning to fill marshy areas around the fringes that they don't usually fill. The Creek is full
although there is virtually no current. The grass is still seeping downhill from Tuesday night's rain. |

Not a drop. The sky was a pale gold just before dawn and
the crescent moon was approaching the Zenith. Not a cloud
in the sky yesterday or this morning. No rain in the forecast for at least a week. |

Turning up goose-eggs this week. Although there was some
dew, it was light and did not even make Trace. The forecast for the rest of the week is for no rain. Delightly cool though! I could bottle this weather and
save it for August, except for the lack of rain. |

with a golden tone at 7:12am. No rain in the forecast for
about a week. The cool weather reduces evaporation, but

Goose-eggs again. Dewy and foggy as well as cool this morning. The fog was the thickest I have seen in a while--I couldn't see the house at the end of the street
two blocks away. I could see the thin crescent of the moon, though, in the eastern sky about two hours from

Dutch Fork Creek is low again, although the ponds look
about the same as last week. This will be my last report
for a few days as I go in for Total Knee Replacement
surgery tomorrow. It may be awhile before I can walk to
the rain gauge again. |

Imagine my surprise when, after two weeks of not checking
the gauge post-operation, that it had 0.94 of rain. I think that most of this fall during Saturday Nov. 1 when
I was still house-bound. I expect it to rain today and
as cold temperatures settle in for the weekend, possibly to snow tonight. We did NOT get any snow here
in Irmo over the past two weeks, although my Physical
Therapist reported snow in various places in nearby
Lexington County as she did her rounds. I am recovering
rapidly from my Total Knee Replacement, had my stitches
out yesterday, and just finished the second week of PT. I will do my best to keep up with the rain gauge
subsequently. There are conditions (snow, ice) during
which I will NOT venture outdoors, though.
