10/2/2015 7:00 AM 0.53 M M M M Temperatures hovered in the middle and upper 50s during the observation period, accompanied by gusty northerly winds. Occasional showers and drizzle during the day on Oct. 1 transformed into a steady rain overnight.
10/3/2015 7:00 AM 1.62 M M M M Steady, light to moderate rain fell during the day on Oct. 2. By 10 pm, rainfall had totaled 1.11". A band of heavier rain overnight provided an additional 0.51". (Despite 4.34" of rain during the last eight observations, there has been no flooding due to 8 weeks of antecedent dryness.) Very cool weather featured temperatures in the lower 50s all day and near 50°F overnight. Light rain is falling at 7 am.

On Oct. 3, gusty northerly to northeasterly winds continued, along with drizzle and periods of mostly light rain. The temperature climbed to near 60ºF but fell back into the mid-50s overnight. The observation period began with very heavy rain, with more than 2" falling between 7 and 8 am on Sep. 28. Heavy rain returned after dark, with 1.61" falling between sunset and 4 am, and another 0.72" occurring from 4 to 7 am. Stafford County schools are opening today on a 2-hour delay, and flooding/ponding is occurring in the usual low spots.
9/30/2016 7:00 AM 0.30 M M M M Event total since 5 am on Sep. 28 climbs to 5.33". Flash flooding subsided early in the observation period, although Stafford Co. schools ultimately closed on Sep. 29. The daylight hours of the 29th featured a gusty easterly wind, periods of light showers, and temperatures hovering in the upper 60s and lower 70s. There was a heavier shower around 10:30 pm. Currently, it is breezy with drizzle, mid-60s.
