The temp has risen from 21.0° F at 03:55 to 26.5° at 07:00.

In addition we saw slight (4-7 mph) WNW breezes and a flat temp range of 34.3° F to 27.3° F. The SWE shows 1.0" of water yielding just 7.29" of snow and is confirmed by the heavy, crusty nature of the accumulated snow. Given the air temp remained above freezing until 04:00 this morning such snow conditions are not surprising.

Some settling and sublimation of snow cover occurred during the late afternoon.

In addition, we saw calm winds and a temp range of 29.9° F to 17.0° F. SWE shows 1" liquid water yielding 14.71" of snow.
11/7/2016 7:00 AM T T T 2.3 0.19 Sunday started with clouds but cleared out by mid-morning with sunshine prevailing until the late afternoon when clouds reappeared and remained overnight and into this morning with brief, random periods of light flurries and some snow grains this morning. In addition we saw light (1-3 mph) WNW air during the day become slight (4-7 mph) NW breezes overnight and slowly climbing temps across the period from 14.8° F yesterday morning to 29.7° F at observation time. Some settling of Sunday's snow; SWE shows 1" liquid water yielding 12.11" of snow.

11/10/2016 7:00 AM T 0.0 0.00 1.5 M Wednesday saw partly to mostly cloudy conditions with a trace of rain around midnight when the temp reached 36.1° F, the high for the day, with a low of 24.7° F. Skies cleared in the early morning hours and the auroral displays were breathtaking! We saw light (1-3 mph) NW breezes during the day which became gentle (8-12 mph) ESE breezes after midnight.

The trace reading came from a few snowflakes observed while driving the Spur around 18:30.

The SWE for the final 3.0" of snow is 1" of liquid water yielding 20.0" of snow.

The snow felt heavier when brooming it and indeed its SWE is 11.92" snow yielding 1" of liquid water which is a bit dense for our normal SWE's.

The SWE for the new snow is uncharacteristically low with just 5" of snow from 1" liquid water; more normal values for this area would be 15" to 30" of snow from 1" liquid water. Such a low SWE probably explains a large part of the dearth of measurable snowfall.

We received 1.5" of snow which condensed to 1.25" with the rain; the SWE of the new snow is just 5.17" of snow yielding 1.0" liquid water. The brief rain along with the very dense new snow really hammered the existing snow pack depth.

In addition we experienced calm winds and a fairly flat temp range of 21.8° F to 14.4° F. We added 2.1" of snow for a snow event total of 4.5"; new snow SWE was 45.0" of snow to 1.0" liquid water.
