Sorry to be late with my report this morning. Had to wait for the frozen mess in the bottom of my rain gauge to thaw before measuring. It was frozen to the post again. Glad I remembered to take out the funnel and inner tube yesterday morning. Rain/freezing rain began around noon, switching back and forth between that, snow, and sleet. As soon as the sun went down, it started freezing solid and now we have a winter wonderland here on the Ridge in Pelham, with ice coating each branch and blade of grass. Beautiful! Temp at 6:30 was 18F, now (8:40am) it is 19.2. The birds will need extra food today, and I won't be going anywhere because the road is a sheet of ice. |

The tornado season began yesterday, and sure enough, we were under a tornado watch for a good portion of the afternoon.
