Some light rain fell around 9:00 last night, leaving vehicles coated with a very thin layer of dirt. But this morning the concrete pad below the gage was dry. This morning the temperature was much warmer than previous mornings. The sky was cloudy enough hide all stars. I cleaned the gage thoroughly after taking the measurement. A little dirt had accumulated along the sharp edges at the bottom of the gage. |

The snow fell almost continually yesterday from 8:00 to 6:00. During the day some of the snow accumulated, melted, and then reaccumulated in a field near my office. The snow in the gage was significantly drifted toward one side. The gage appears to have collected much less snow than accumulated on the ground. A core taken from an undisturbed surface contained 0.46 inches of water. |
