The smoke from the Hidden fire, which is being allowed to burn as a 'resource benefit,' moved into the valley late day producing unhealthy air.

A Type I mgt team arrived yesterday at the rapidly expanding Lolo Peak fire, which has already forced hundreds of evacuations. The Hidden fire, last reported at well over 5,000 acres, is located nw of Hamilton in the Clearwater wilderness and being allowed to burn for resource benefit, though its massive smoke plume has spewed thick smoke into the Bitterroot Valley the past several days. Not a good situation on both counts.
