10/14/2016 4:00 AM T M M M M Barely dampened the porch.
10/15/2016 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M 1 rabbit hanging about. No deer, 5 turkeys, when they feel up to it, several Chickadees, crows, blue-jays and ladybugs. Stinkbugs are few this year. Timberwolves are taking over the terrain, as the Wiley E.Coyotes have moved on.

10/21/2016 5:00 AM 0.11 M M M M The black weasel was seen. This is more than likely the white fella seen in the spring, with a black tipped tail. In good shape and a fast runner. Not a lick of fat on him. Lucky weasel.
10/22/2016 5:00 AM 0.26 0.0 M M M The cooling winds have started 12 hours ahead of time. Brolly is down, so we won't need to look for it Sunday. No weasel seen for the report, no squirrels, or any wildlife except the always present crows, and chickadees. Safe to say we've passed the peak foliage, as the oaks are losing leaves. They hang in to the end. Bit early, but everything's gonna be fine this winter. You can trust me, I'm not like the others.
10/23/2016 4:00 AM 0.15 M M M M No weasel, no squirrels, I think they packed it in for safety. I heard parts of Mass. got snow. Lucky ducks. Happy Snow Day to those in Mass. that lucked out. Snow level in NH is 200 feet. Most of the leaves have dispersed wher mature intended. Oak trees still defiant, but dropping the leaves slowly and reluctantly.

10/27/2016 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Brolly's in for the next 6 months, (deck Brolly), wind is still an annoyance, as it brings wind chill down. After losing over 100 LBS, I'm not as resistant to the cold as I was in the past. Puss Puss is done with her shed, and is utilizing by covers as a heatiing spot before the daily snooze. Nesting season has commenced.A drey — or dray — is a nest of a tree squirrel or a flying squirrel. Dreys are usually built of twigs, dry leaves, and grass, and typically assembled in the forks of a tall tree. They are sometimes referred to as “drey nests” to distinguish them from squirrel “cavity nests” (also termed “dens”).

6/18/2017 4:43 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M None to report, just a few hummingbirds. But they don't rain. The males like the rain, and go on security for the feeders, but otherwise, are bored.
6/19/2017 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Hummingbirds are settled in and the lightning bugs are as well. Summer, what could be better, aside from winter?

6/22/2017 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Hummingbirds present, lots of them, no deer, as the flowers haven't opened yet, and something moving about in the woods last night that was clever enough to stay hidden. No damage from the storms 2 days ago, although 2 were severe warned. Next possibility will be Friday. As I age, I question my logic of sitting out under an umbrella in a thunderstorm.
6/23/2017 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Loads of birds, only a few lightningbugs overnight. Pondering if there is a correlation. No storms, rain, sky originated water. Too much sunlight in the day.
6/24/2017 5:00 AM 0.38 M M M M No heavy rain, lasted 35ish minutes. never thought to look at the clock, but it was after 2 AM. No snow to report, still humid.
6/25/2017 5:00 AM 0.10 M M M M Reading is from my idiot nephew, who told me he "drank the water from the gauge, but it was around 10". Yeah, peace and light, man. I haven't cleaned the inner coil since last fall. With any luck the sparrows had a good aim.
6/26/2017 5:00 AM T M M M M Afternoon, looked like no clouds, but the wind, not strong, carried rain onto us. It was cool looking up and seeing liquid glass looking rain come down. Drop direction varied with breeze direction. Puss Puss didn't see the crow, as the shade was down. Speak not a word about it. Thunder heard, radar show it, just to the south by 10 miles or so. Radio was clicking away from it (AM radio). Better luck next time, yeah?
6/27/2017 5:00 AM 0.07 M M M M Small showers, nothing I was out for. As far as I know my idiot 33 year old nephew is still alive from drinking the water from the rain gauge. What a goof.

7/9/2017 5:00 AM 0.51 M M M M Got the rain in 20 minutes. Nothing severe, as there was no big wind, nor hail. Plenty of lightning coming through the AM radio (they still exist) and thunder so loud Puss Puss slept with her ears back. Hummingbird males stood duty on the hooks for the feeders during the event, then the ladies took over. Mini ravioli for breakfast, and I'm calling it a day in 20 minutes. CIAO!

7/13/2017 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M I saw a creature, looked like a cat, about Puss Puss' size, trotting up the driveway, when it got close enough to see (without the reading glasses), it stopped, because a cat (Puss Puss) made a noise inside,(jumping on the bureau with no drawers in it, long story) then carried on for a few steps, until I said "Good Morning, Mr.Fox". Then he booked into the woods on Turkey Hill. My guess is it means "run for your life" in fox language. I did hear 7 drops or sprinkles on the umbrella at 12:15AM.
7/14/2017 5:00 AM 0.43 M M M M Early morning rain, nothing heavy. The rest of the day ws humid, but 61° was the high. Hummingbirds are enjoying the 3 feeders. Refill them every 3 days. Must be immigrants. Free is free. I heard the fox around 1AM, but it hadn't stopped in to visit. I imagine they have a busy schedule, looking for food and all.

8/4/2017 5:00 AM 0.28 M M M M Typical thunderstorm. Puss Puss slept throught most of it, until she need a snack, then went back to snoozing. It was one of those thunderstorms like we had in '86 or so, developed, didn't move, Keene got 3 inches of rain, and no surrounding towns did.
