Had rain for a couple hours after initial reporting period yesterday morning from about 0700-9:50 hrs or so. Then no rain until about 3:30 pm for about 2.5 hours. Snow began light close to 7:00 pm and continued through the night often times fairly moderate to heavy. Have about 6 1/2 inches of snow with 7 inches in other areas of the yard. Will do pcpn update tomorrow as it was not an easy day to melt this snow outside of the house. UPDATE - rain gauge collection tube (1 inch) froze and bottom broke out - did not realize this until I melted snow and poured it into the measured tube - lost some liquid so info is estimated as I looked at it while it was frozen with snow still inside the funnel portion. |

Important info: I will do this one time zero pcpn report. I do not report non pcpn events. If I have a dry TSTM, I will report that for the info of the TSTM alone. But to daily turn on the computer to report nothing has fallen in the pcpn gauge is kind of a waste of time if you think about it. recording zeroes should be obvious if no report is made then it is likely a zero occurred or the reporting party was not at home or on vacation. Nothing again yesterday - an 80 percent bust on all forecasted weather. Got pretty cloudy between about 12:45 and 5:30 pm but mainly upper level clouds and all pcpn was well S, W, and E of town. No severe anything, no T anywhere near town. Maybe someone should look at steering flow and mountains around Fallon, not to mention support for clouds as they get nearer the town???? Better luck today and probably better chance since it is not an 80 percent fcst to bust as many have been in the past. Good lightning through period as TSTM came right over town and home during this period. Had a number of cells all over the place during this period that were active. Had a few light showers between about 7:45 and 9:30 pm. Had a lot more shower activity south of house/town during same times. Surprised that NFL didn't record anything as it looked like a lot more activity crossed the base during this time frame - maybe it was just a little further south of them though???? |

Another foolish looking forecast. Did have a 12 minute shower start at 4:15 pm. Not heavy and barely enough to get the canopy of my gazebo about half wet. Sad, Sad heavy rain???? Looked like more showers were coming in at 11:00 pm or there abouts, but they shifted a little east and fizzled out before they got here. Most of activity again was south, east and west of town and NFL for that matter. Did not hear Thunder as the base reported but looking at the clouds it likely was there - although no real pcpn with that event... Over it.. |

Can't verify if any pcpn fell in Fallon for 8-29-17. Saw no signs of it. Was at Lake Lahonton and had a brief RW- at 7:05 and 7:40 am - then another light RW- with T also around 6:30 and 7:15 pm. Very short lived and light events. Most of clouds seemed to be wezt and east of the lake yesterday. Probably not of any interest, but I thought I would put it in this event log. |

Returned home from camping trip and found pcpn in rain gauge indicated. Asked friends if it had rained and they said it poured about 4:30 to 5:30 pm or so with T. Looked at NAS Fallon and saw they indicated clear skies most of the day and then one low cloud when they got .04 inches of pcpn - obviously something not right with that info. At lake Lahonton (Fallon side) we had a good TSTM at about 5:30 and 6:45 pm or so with heavy rain during the first one. Know clouds were present in all our area and Fallon from about mid day on. Must be NFL's weather ASOS was down???? |

Had light showers around 3:30 and 7:00 pm yesterday. Very light and short lived. Did have a lot of T and much more RW activity to south of house and town from about 3:00 to about 8:30 or so, but it missed us completely. |

Big deal on your forecast - no heavy rain of any kind here. Had a 5 minute shower at 6:15 pm - very light and barely noticeable. Didn't see any other pcpn although the base had something reported around 9:00 pm or so. Again, steering flow and topography kept everything moving just north or south of town as it usually does when approaching from this SE direction. Better luck today with no mention of any heavy rain in forecast ???? |

Had one shower at 5:54 pm - fairly big drops but lasted short time as it became much smaller droplets after about 10 minutes. Heard no thunder. |

Had T come rolling in around 11:15 pm and lasted for almost 2.5 hours. Had some rain mixed in early but then it was mostly just a lightning and T show for the entire period. Most of it was just east and southeast. A lot of T and lightning like I've never seen in Fallon and I've been here since 1990. |

T began at 7:10 pm and RW- at 7:19 pm. T and lightning was very active for 2.20 hrs while showers were mixed in off and on for the most part. Showers became fairly steady light rain around 9:30 and lasting till close to midnight. |

Nothing in town for period. Had Good lightning show E-S-SW around 7:45 - 9:45 pm but nothing to hear as far as T went - saw the light show but no audio portion for us. No rain either for the night then everything just moved on or faded out - so went to sleep and don't know if anything else occurred WX wise. |

Heard T from about 1:50 to about 2:45 pm but no pcpn. Clouds were dark and thick and just north of town but all moved ENE and never got a drop. T was not very active for the hour the cloud just moved by slowly. |
