Observation Date Observation Time Precipitation Snowfall Snowfall SWE Snow Depth Snow SWE Notes
2/22/2018 8:00 AM 2.31 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 This reading is of rainfall in the last 12 hours. A storm front brought heavy rainfall for extended periods of time over the station. Rain is still falling in near excessive amounts, with minor flooding occurring at Long Run Creek (at the gauge location). UPDATE (2/22/2018 10:26 AM): I surveyed the area and found my original observation to be wrong. Water is ponding in fields with severe amounts of water running across 139 heading towards Portsmouth from Rubyville. Lakeview Ave in New Boston is flooded at the Stadium. Stream flooding from gauge location to the New Boston area is moderate in many locations and major in some. Low lying homes in New Boston, especially along York St into Lakeview Ave are in standing water. (Coordinates: 38.761043, -82.932113) UPDATE (2/22/2018 11:02 AM): Total rainfall for gauge at weather station after the rain had stopped approx. 9:00 AM was 2.31 inches.

3/7/2018 8:00 AM T 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 There was snowfall this morning, but not enough to measure. Snow barely covered the grass tops, can still see the ground and grass blades. This is a wet snow and is sticking to every surface. (Trees and grass especially). I am recording my snowfall as 0 due to it not being enough for measure.

3/21/2018 3/22/2018 7:00 AM 2 0.44 T M 0.37 inches of the precipitation was from melted snow (or snow that had melted in the gauge). I marked the Snow Depth on the ground as T because the snow did not stick and was patchy in places. I marked the core sample as NA, as there was not enough snow on the ground to take this recording.
3/25/2018 3/26/2018 8:00 AM 2 0.00 0.0 0.00 Multi-Day observation for Winter Weather Advisory. Was surprised we didn't get any snow from the storm at the location.
3/31/2018 4/04/2018 8:00 AM 5 2.26 T T This observation was done at 8:00AM this morning, but took me a bit to analyze and review the data. In the period from 3/31/2018 to 4/4/2018, the total accumulation was 2.26in. The rainfalls each day (recorded at 8:00AM) 3/31/2018: 0.06in 4/1/2018: 0.04in 4/2/2018: 0.46in 4/3/2018: 0.03in 4/4/2018: 1.43in (Significant Weather Event) On 4/4/2018, there was a Significant Weather Event. There was dime sized hail at the gauge. Wind speeds were pushing 45MPH and 1.27 inches of the total rainfall this day happened from 7:30PM to 9:15PM. In this time frame was the same storm that dropped the hail, the first storm to push through the area at 7:30PM. Long Run Creek rose high in a short period of 45 minutes. To the eye view Long Run was approx. half full once the system passed. There was no significant wind damage or flooding in the location other than water in driveways and fields.
