12/3/2017 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Another perfect late-autumn day yesterday with sunny blue skies and temps in the 50s. Today promises the same but the bottom drops out this week with the return of cold Canadian air and highs in the 20s and 30s.
12/4/2017 7:00 AM 0.01 0.0 M 0.0 M Line of showers moved through early this morning but bulk of precip. stayed to the north. Heard a few distant rumbles of thunder this morning, too. 12/5/2017 7:00 AM 0.11 0.0 M 0.0 M Crazy weather day yesterday. Set record-high temp of 64 degrees for December 4. 12/16/2017 7:00 AM M 0.1 M M M Another dusting of snow in the past 24 hours. Big flakes fell briefly between 7-8 a.m. yesterday, with light flurries off and on until around noon. Then, another bit of scattered flurries passed through during the wee hours today. Overall, though, it didn't amount to much.
12/17/2017 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Yesterday's high temp reached 37 degrees under sunny skies for much of the morning, which melted-clean the sidewalks and driveways. The next few days offer a brief warm-up before more rain and snow late in the week.

12/21/2017 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Overcast, 28 degrees and practically no snow on the ground at obs. time. Snow/wintry mix forecast for this evening and overnight.
12/22/2017 7:00 AM M T M M M Storm front stayed well north of here and forecast snowfall totals this week dropped from 2-3" to 1-2 to up to 1", as of yesterday. Ultimately, only a trace of snow here overnight, and lawns and most rooftops are mainly bare.
12/23/2017 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Very quiet but nice yesterday. Temp hovered in mid 30s most of the day with little wind, and the sun even popped out from behind the clouds briefly. The only remaining snow appears sporadically in the neighborhood, and mainly from shoveling piles.
12/24/2017 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Flurries between 7-11:30 yesterday morning but didn't amount to anything. Moments of sunshine during the afternoon and a clear evening, replete with crescent moon, gave way to overcast skies and a temp of 16 degrees at obs. time this morning.
12/25/2017 7:00 AM M 1.3 M M M Persistent, light flurries started shortly after obs. time yesterday and continued steadily until around 2:00 p.m., leaving ~1" in its wake. Then, overnight, spotty flurries deposited the balance, for a total of 1.3" of very light, dry snow. At obs. time, the temp was 13 frosty degrees.
12/26/2017 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M A sunny but cold Christmas yesterday offered one last gift: a surge of Arctic air late in the day. At obs. time, the sun sits low on the horizon and does little to warm the still, frigid blanket of -4 degree air covering my neighborhood.
12/27/2017 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Bitter cold and dangerous windchills yesterday, with more of the same for today. It's -4 degrees at obs. time, but at least the sun will shine in clear skies again.
12/28/2017 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Day 2 of bitter cold and sub-zero windchills yesterday, but at least it was sunny again. At obs. time now, overcast and a balmy 3 degrees, with potential of 1-2" of snow by late evening.
12/29/2017 7:00 AM M 0.3 M M M New Snow Depth is average of a few spots, since snowfall yesterday evening was fairly uneven. Again, snow is very light and dry, symptomatic of very cold, single-digit-temp airmass that has this region in its grip.
12/30/2017 7:00 AM M 0.2 M M M Another dusting of light, dry powdery snow yesterday afternoon. At obs. time, clear skies, a temp of -2 degrees, and a brutal windchill somewhere in the -20s.
12/31/2017 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M A balmy 2 degrees at obs. time under clear skies. Yesterday was similar except for dangerous windchills in the -20s; today, the winds have abated.
1/1/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Happy 2018! We remain stuck in a weather pattern that started almost a week ago: weak winter sun in mainly clear skies that does little to elevate temps above zero. Coupled with strong winds, this new year begins under yet another windchill advisory for today.
1/2/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M -3 degrees at obs. time under clear skies again. Windchill advisory until noon for yet another day.
1/3/2018 7:00 AM M 0.1 M M M A dusting of snow early this morning. A single flake falls here n' there at obs. time, with a temp of 11 degrees.
1/4/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Sporadic flakes continued to fall after obs. time yesterday until ~9:30 a.m. but didn't amount to anything. At obs. time today, clear skies, -2 degrees and we're under another windchill advisory. Possible warm-up coming this weekend.
1/5/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M -3 degrees at obs. time and we're under another windchill advisory for, what seems like, the 40th consecutive day. Presently, Mon-Thurs of next week forecast to rise above freezing, but time will tell.
1/6/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M -2 degrees at obs. time after another carbon-copy day: sunny, clear skies and windchill advisory. Today's forecast? One guess... :-)

1/8/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Last night's forecast snow/wintry mix again missed this area, staying mainly south. At obs. time, my thermometer reads 28 degrees, with today's high forecast for 36+ degrees -- the first above-freezing temp since before Xmas, I believe. The period from Xmas Day to Jan. 7 is second coldest in MKE history, with an average daily temp of 5.9 degrees.
1/9/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Wonderful day yeaterday, with a high temp of 39 and plenty of sunshine. Much of the snow cover subsided, except for shadier areas. Today's forecast calls for similar temp with partly cloudy skies. Rain due tomorrow and Thursday.
1/10/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Foggy, damp and 34 degrees at obs. time. High temps should hit upper 40s today/tomorrow before the bottom falls out again Friday.
1/11/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M 53 incredible degrees at obs. time under overcast skies. Yesterday, MKE set a record high temp of 54 for that date. Today, rain/icy mix moving in and will drop temps back closer to seasonal reality.
1/12/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M 34-degree drop between obs. time today vs. yesterday. Winds and resultant windchill are back, reminding us that winter hasn't relinquished its hold. Possible snow event Sunday night.
1/13/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M 2 frosty degrees under clear skies at obs. time. About 15 snowflakes fell yesterday around 7:40 a.m. but otherwise the day was dry but cold. Today promises the same.
1/14/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M 2 degrees, clear and calm at obs. time, with no snow on the ground. This will change, however, with a forecast 2-4" of snow due between tonight and Tuesday morning.
1/15/2018 7:00 AM M 1.2 M M M Light, airy, relatively dry snowfall overnight; continues at obs. time this morning. Forecast calls for lull by late morning, but lake-effect snow should set up later today. Projected snowfall for this event is 3-6" depending upon where lake-effect band moves.
1/16/2018 7:00 AM M 2.8 M M M Light snow continued to fall yesterday from obs. time until ~10:30 a.m., depositing 0.70" of fluffy, light snow. Then, from 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the clouds parted and it actually became sunny and quite pleasant outside. Near sunset, the first flurries could be seen as bands of lake-effect snow started to form. Overnight, an additional 2.1" of light, fluffy snow accumulated, bringing the total for this snow event to 4.0" for January 14-16, 2018.
1/17/2018 7:00 AM M T M M M The last of the lake-effect snow left a trace between obs. time and ~9:00 a.m. yesterday, followed by clearing skies and some sun. Today promises partly cloudy skies with a return of increasing winds and decreasing "feels like" temps.
1/18/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Cold, blustery day yesterday and overnight, resulting in drifting snow on sidewalks and roadways.
1/19/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Quiet, sunny day yesterday. Today, sunny and warmer, with forecast high ~40 through Monday.
1/20/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Yesterday's high temp reached 40 here, and the low temp since midnight is the current 34. With today's forecast high in the 40s, the already spotty, thin snow cover will find it hard to survive the weekend.
1/21/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M 34 degrees at obs. time after temps reached 51 degrees here yesterday. Only remaining snow hides in shadowy areas but continued above-freezing temps through Monday, as well as forecast rain tomorrow, should erase the remaining white stuff. Currently, dense fog advisory in place until noon today.
1/22/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Steady rain and 36 degrees at obs. time. Rain forecast for entire day, but might turn to mix or snow overnight. Forecast seems very fluid and uncertain at this point.
1/23/2018 7:00 AM M 1.7 M M M Multiple-precip day yesterday: fog, rain, hail & snow. Foggy, misty morning gave way to steady rain throughout the day. Between 7:15-8:00 p.m., thunder and lightning flashes preceded rice-size hail. (Separate CoCo hail report submitted.) Overnight, precip. turned to snow, which fell steadily until ~6:00 this morning. Snow is heavy, with an icy crust.
1/24/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Overcast all day yesterday, with temps never rising above freezing. Thus, the icy layer underneath the snow remains on untreated sidewalks, driveways, decks, etc. Another warm-up is forecast, starting tomorrow.
1/25/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Quiet day yesterday, with a high of 28 degrees. Today's forecast high of 40 and sunny should begin the next round of snow-melt during this roller-coaster winter.
1/26/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M
1/27/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M 90% of the snow cover has now melted, and today's sunny, above-normal-temp forecast should polish off the rest.
1/28/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Almost all of the snow has melted, other than the odd shovel-pile here and there. Gorgeous day yesterday with sunny skies and temps ~50. Today, possible snow showers late a.m. but otherwise cooler and cloudy skies forecast.
1/29/2018 7:00 AM M 0.1 M M M Quick-hit snowfall late yesterday p.m. that morphed into lake-effect snow overnight. Should stick around today due to overcast skies and sub-32-degree temps.
1/30/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Very light flurries fell yesterday from obs. time until ~3:00 p.m. but was too sparse to add to snowfall on ground. At 3:00, the sun finally broke through until sunset.
1/31/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Pleasant sunny day yesterday albeit chilly. Much of the snow cover melted away again; perhaps 15% of ground bears snow in shadowed areas. Today's forecast high of 38 should finish the job.
2/1/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M January 2018 Summary: 5.90" of snow fell during five separate snow events. High yesterday of 38 degrees, but bottom has dropped out this morning as windy cold front passes through. Temp has fallen from 24 to 14 degrees between ~5:30-7:00 a.m., and with the wind, the windchill is easily at 0 or below already. Brrrr.
2/2/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Other than the small shovel-pile of snow here or there, 99% of the snow has melted. Sunny and very windy yesterday with sub-zero windchills. Less windy, clear skies and 3 degrees at obs. time.
2/3/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Light snow off to west, according to radar, represents first bout of forecast 24-hour snow event. Winter Weather Advisory runs from noon today until noon tomorrow, with possible 3-5+ inches possible, followed by winds to blow the white stuff around.
2/4/2018 7:00 AM M 4.6 M M M What a difference 24 hours makes. Yesterday, bare ground; at obs. time now, 4.6" of light, fluffy dry snow, with goose-feather flakes tumbling in all directions a la a snowglobe. Wind gusts have made measurement difficult, with drifts and dunes aplenty, but after numerous measurements, 4.6" seems average.
2/5/2018 7:00 AM M 0.6 M M M Snowfall yesterday continued from obs. time until ~12:30 p.m., which was longer than forecast anticipated. Very light and fluffy snow. Now, the temp is -5 degrees, clear and calm. More snow (2-5 inches) due late the p.m. and evening.
2/6/2018 7:00 AM M 0.9 M M M Another round of light, fluffy snow for several hours as of sunset yesterday. After a sunny, cold day, another inch of snow is possible overnight again.
2/7/2018 7:00 AM M 0.8 M M M Another round of snow overnight. This too is light and fluffy, but slightly icier than other snows of late.
2/8/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Finally a reprieve in the snowfall, abeit short-lived. The forecast calls for 3-8 inches tonight and into Friday, depending on how the approaching stormfront sets up.
2/9/2018 7:00 AM M 3.8 M M M Very light, dry snow fell throughout the night, ending here ~5:45 this morning. New Snow Depth is average of several measurements, since sporadic winds have stirred up the snow at times. More snow possible tomorrow...
2/10/2018 7:00 AM M 0.1 M M M Persistent flurries/light snow yesterday from obs. time to ~noon due to lake-effect band that set up after main stormfront passed through. Around 12:30 p.m., the sun shone its welcome face in clear skies. Overnight, another dusting of snow fell. This persistent regular overnight snow pattern should end after this weekend.
2/11/2018 7:00 AM M 2.9 M M M Winter Weather Advisory issued at ~2:30 this morning suggests this storm caught people unawares. Still lightly snowing at obs. time after 2.9" of light, fluffy but icey snow fell, starting after 12:30 a.m., when I looked out the window at clear sidewalk and driveway.
2/12/2018 7:00 AM M 0.1 M M M Persistent flurries/light snow fell yesterday from obs. time to ~11:45 a.m., at which time the sun appeared. Very cold this morning but should reach around 20 degrees. Mercifully, the daily pattern of overnight snowfalls appears ended for a while, to the delight of my aching back.
2/13/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M High of ~20 degrees yesterday, sunny and no precip. Today, high of 30 degrees forecast and partly sunny, with above-freezing highs expected for next few days afterward.
2/14/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Forgot to submit this report earlier. Quiet, uneventful day yesterday. Today and tomorrow, temps in the mid-30s to ~40 degrees forecast, with sunny skies today.
2/15/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Relatively sunny for most of the day yesterday, with a high of 42, made a visible dent in existing snow. The snowmelt also triggered a dense-fog advisory late yesterday that runs until 9:00 this morning. The temp. At obs. time is 37 degrees and, incredibly, has not budged from that number since at least 9:00 last night.
2/16/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Dreary overcast day yesterday but temp stayed above freezing, continuing the snowmelt trend. At obs. time, temp of 27 and overcast but no precip. predicted until possibly Saturday evening.
2/17/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Yesterday turned unexpectedly sunny and, despite temps in the mid 20s, it turned out to be a nice day. At obs. time, its 18 degrees and cloudy. Possible snow later tonight.
2/18/2018 7:00 AM M 0.4 M M M Quick, intense snow squall passed through yesterday afternoon and dropped almost a half-inch of dry, powdery snow. Should melt quite a bit today under sunny skies and a forecast high of 42 degrees.
2/19/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Quiet day yesterday. At obs. time, 37 degrees and mostly cloudy. Area is under flood watch until tomorrow p.m. due to impending heavy rain, which could drop ~1.5" by later tomorrow. Given temps and rain, I placed 4-inch gauge outside this morning, too.
2/20/2018 7:00 AM 1.34 0.0 M M M Sprinkes started yesterday at 9:09 a.m. and by ~11:00, steady rain moved in. During day, bands of heavier/lighter rain fell, but heaviest downpours started after sunset. Temp rose from 37 at midnight to 44 at 5:30 this morning, but has dropped to 39 at obs. time. Currently drizzling with more rain possible later this afternoon. Standing water in low spots in the neighborhood but nothing problematic.
2/21/2018 7:00 AM 0.59 0.0 M M M Steady rain fell yesterday from obs. time until mid-morning, when it finally grew sporadic and then ended. Today at obs. time, the temp is 24 and many lawns hold frozen puddles from this unusual February rain storm.
2/22/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M 4-inch gauge removed again after obs. yesterday now that temps have dropped below freezing again.
2/23/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Rain in the wee hours before obs. time this morning, with an overnight low of 34 degrees.
2/24/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M
2/25/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Chilly, heavy mist started ~5:30 yesterday evening, with heavier rain a few hours later. Strong winds kicked in overnight, resulting in a Wind Advisory until 3:00 p.m. At obs. time, 28 degrees, winds at ~20 mph and sunny.
2/26/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Nice day yesterday with sunny skies and a high temp around 40 degrees. Currently, the ground holds only scattered snow piles from shadowed or shoveled areas, but highs near or above 50 today and tomorrow should polish 'em off.
2/27/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Beautiful late-spring type of day yesterday, with plenty of sun and temps flirting with 50. Today should bring more of the same, with temps possibly reaching 60 here. Another roller-coaster winter in SE WI this season.
2/28/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Beautiful sunny day yesterday, with the high temp reaching ~60 degrees. Rain returning tonight and changing to snow tomorrow morning, with the possibility of 1-4 inches depending upon whose forecast you choose to believe.
3/1/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M February 2018 Summary: 14.20 inches of snow.
3/2/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M March came in like the proverbial lamb yesterday -- sunny and pleasant -- despite dire predictions of rain/snow. At obs. time, plenty of frost on lawns and rooftops, but clear skies and sun should warm things up quickly this morning.
3/3/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Nice spring-like day yesterday, with this same weather likely through the weekend.
3/4/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M
3/5/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Chillier yesterday but sunny and pleasant for early March. That might end tonight, with anywhere from 1-5 inches of heavy wet snow forecast, and perhaps some freezing rain. Winter Weather Advisory runs from 6 p.m. to the same time tomorrow.
3/6/2018 7:00 AM M 2.1 M 2.1 M Snow started here ~7:00 last night and dropped 2.10" of heavy, wet snow before I arose at 1:45 this morning. More light snow possible through the day but shouldn't amount to much.
3/7/2018 7:00 AM M 0.1 M M M After obs. yesterday, light flurries persisted for several hours in the morning, but melted with temps reaching 41 degrees. At some point overnight, however, a band of snow passed and deposited a light layer that will likely melt away in today's strong sunshine.
3/8/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Sunny but cold yesterday, with the same on tap for today.
3/9/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M 1,000th CoCo report. Sunny but cold yesterday, with a similar day forecast for today.
3/10/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Sunny with a high of 36 degrees yesterday.
3/11/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Sunny, dry day yesterday with a carbon copy due for today.
3/12/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Another sunny, dry day yesterday. Today, possible flurries at time but generally dry and warming throughout the week.
3/13/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Partly cloudy and a high of 41 degrees yesterday. Small areas of snow remain in sheltered areas but ~95% of the ground is bare.
3/14/2018 7:00 AM M T M M M Crazy morning yesterday, with light "snowglobe flurries" falling from ~9:30-10:45 a.m. The snow briefly intensified around 10:15 and actually left a dusting, but this later melted except for a few spots that remain shaded throughout the day.
3/15/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M In the midst of a quiet, dry, sunny pattern with temps in the high 30s. Meanwhile, blizzards hammer the east coastal states... crazy.
3/16/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Frosty 21 degrees at obs. time after another dry, sunny day.
3/17/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M
3/18/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Pleasant St. Patty's Day yesterday with plenty of sun and temps in the mid to upper 40s. Today, temps should reach mid 50s, making it difficult to believe that a wintry mix is possible next weekend.
3/19/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Great mid-March day yesterday! Sunny and dry pattern continues today/this week but temps should be below normal (30s).
3/20/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Dry, sunny and cold streak continued yesterday, and should until Saturday when, possibly, rain or snow might fall.
3/21/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M
3/22/2018 7:00 AM M 0.0 M M M Dry, sunny n' cold pattern continues with no measurable precip. for ~2 weeks. Looks as if rain/snow on Saturday will miss this area, too. Won't miss the snow but we do need the moisture.
3/23/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M 4-inch gauge placed outside yesterday to start another season of CoCo reporting. Otherwise, dry, sunny and cold pattern continues.
3/24/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The pattern remains the same: dry, sunny and chilly. More of the same today with the addition of brisk east winds, gusting up to 30 mph.
3/25/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Yesterday felt like a late-November day with gray skies and brisk, chill winds. No precip., however, and this week's forecast offers several days in the 50s, which will feel nice.
3/26/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The dry-streak continues but, hopefully, will end tonight with potential for ~0.5" of rain.
3/27/2018 7:00 AM 0.34 0.0 M M M Finally, some much-needed precip. (as rain) fell. Trace fell at 5:20 p.m. yesterday; started in earnest ~6:45 p.m.; continued overnight but had essentially stopped here by 6:00 this morning.
3/28/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Chilly morning today with no wind and plenty of frost on rooftops and lawns.
3/29/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Rain passed through area late last night and in the wee hours this morning, but there's no evidence anything fell here. Rain forecast for Friday-into-Saturday predicts 90-100% chance of precip., which we need in this area.
3/30/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Rain and possibly some snow due tonight and tomorrow.
3/31/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Overcast, 37 degrees and breezy at obs. time with radar-indicated rain to the west. Wind Advisory in place until 6 p.m. today, with possibles gusts up to 45 mph.
4/1/2018 7:00 AM 0.05 0.0 M M M March 2018 Summary: 2.20" of snow fell on two days. Had to wait for gauge catch to melt this morning... At 7:15 yesterday morning, the rain finally moved in. At times, the rain transformed to large wet snowflakes and fell heavily, but everything melted as it hit the ground. All precip. ended here by ~9:30 a.m., and the rest of the day was dry, chilly and mostly cloudy.
4/2/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Quiet, dry and chilly Easter yesterday. Rain/snow possibly developing tonight and dropping 1-2 inches by Wednesday a.m. I knew it was optimistic to put my shovels away last week...
4/3/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Zero snow on the ground but that might change by tomorrow, with 1-3" possible here.
4/4/2018 7:00 AM 0.39 2.6 M M M Trace fell yesterday shortly after obs. time but rain returned later in the morning. For most of the day, precip. switched back and forth from rain to sleet before transitioning to snow later in the evening. Snow ended here by ~6:00 a.m. and sun shines in partly cloudy skies, with a strong NW wind.
4/5/2018 7:00 AM T T M M M A few stray flakes fell until mid-morning, but generally the day proved sunny and cold, and the roads and south-facing areas saw the snow recede or disappear.
4/6/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Possibly 20% of the snow cover from two days earlier remains, and primarily in sheltered spots and shovel piles. The early spring deep-freeze continues, however, with today's high forecast for 30 degrees. At least the sun shines to warm the spirit if not the ground.
4/7/2018 7:00 AM T T M M M For about two hours late yesterday morning, a small isolated pocket of snow hit this area. At times, large flakes fell almost horizontally. Most of the snow melted on contact with roads, driveways and sidewalks, but created a dusting on grass and roofs. By early p.m., the sun returned and melted this latest whitestuff away.
4/8/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M
4/9/2018 7:00 AM M 0.3 M M M Light snow fell in the wee hours this morning, depositing snow on roofs and grassy surfaces but not the roads. Snow still lightly falling at obs. time, making it difficult to believe the forecast of temps in the 60s by Friday.
4/10/2018 7:00 AM T T M M M Persistent flurries yesterday morning left a dusting of snow, but sunshine and temps in the high 30s erased all traces by ~11 a.m.
4/11/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Finally, we'll climb out of the freezer and enjoy more springlike weather, with temps today forecast to reach the mid 50s.
4/12/2018 7:00 AM 0.18 0.0 M M M Light rain overnight between ~11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m., according to radar. At obs. time, 45 degrees and sunny, with highs in the mid-60s likely here today.
4/13/2018 7:00 AM 0.02 0.0 M M M Despite forecast, temp. only reached 59 here yesterday and remained overcast throughout the day. By late p.m., temps dropped as rain-front approached, although heavier precip. remained well north of here. At obs. time, 36 degrees, overcast and damp-feeling, with nasty looking storms off to the west.
4/14/2018 7:00 AM 0.35 0.0 M M M Today's weather word is "NASTY." Yesterday proved gray, chill, rainy and windy... and by tomorrow morning, that will probably seem preferable to what's in store. At obs. time, we're under a Wind Advisory (gusts possible up to 50 mph); and a Winter Weather Advisory (rain, sleet, freezing rain and 1-3" of snow) in effect until midnight on Sunday. Again, NASTY.
4/15/2018 7:00 AM 0.99 1.9 M M M We've seen every type of precip. except hail in past 24 hours as winter reasserts its hold this weekend. Still under Winter Weather Advisory until midnight tonight. Yesterday, strong easterly winds throughout the day knocked down small branches from neighboring maples. All day and night, precip. shifted from icy rain to sleet to snow and back again. Winds finally subsided a bit around 10 p.m. Swapped out 4-inch gauge at 7:00 this morning (as icy sleet hit my face from the east), but needed time to melt catch. New Snow total is average of numerous measurements, but winds made depth very difficult to measure properly.
4/16/2018 7:00 AM 0.64 4.3 M M M At obs. time, pesky snow still falling, the unwelcome remnant of the nasty 3-day storm. Yesterday morning, sleet transitioned back to snow in the morning and fell quite heavily until ~12:30 p.m. By ~2:00, the snow ended here and the temp reached 34 degrees for a while. Snow returned early this morning, however, resulting in another Winter Weather Advisory until 8:00 a.m.
4/17/2018 7:00 AM 0.02 0.2 M M M Persistant and irritating flurries yesterday (after 3 days of nasty weather) continued from obs. time to ~noon. The temp. did manage to climb a degree or two above freezing, helping to clean off shoveled driveways and sidewalks. Sunny but cold day today; more snow due Wednesday.
4/18/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Quiet day yesterday, finally, with some sun and a high of 41 degrees. Winter refuses to concede, however, and we're under a Winter Weather Advisory until 4 a.m. tomorrow as another storm prepares to whack this area and dump 4-6" of snow.
4/19/2018 7:00 AM 0.61 4.0 M M M First snow "pellets" started hitting windows yesterday at 1:00 p.m., when the temp was 34°; by 1:30, light flurries started. At 2:05, the temp was 33° with more sleet-pellets, but by 2:20, it transitioned to light snow that melted on sidewalks and driveways. At 2:28, the temp dropped to 32° and within 10 minutes, a light dusting covered sidewalks and driveways, although only light snow fell. At 3:00 p.m., however, heavy, wet flakes started falling steadily, and did so until 7:00 p.m., the inches quickly piling up. At this point, both the size and frequency of the flakes declined, and radar indicated a welcome break in the storm over this area. Around 9:00 p.m., another small hit of flurries occurred but the storm had essentially ended by then.
4/20/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Nice to report a 0 for a change.
4/21/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Sunny and dry yesterday, with a high of 56 degrees.
4/22/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M At the risk of jinxing it, the 10-day forecast calls for temps in the 50s every day... Has spring finally arrived?
4/23/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Spring has sprung!
4/24/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M
4/25/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Another typical abbreviated Wisconsin spring: Snow and temps in the 30s last week; sunny, dry and temps in the 50s this week; and next week, temps in the 70s.
4/26/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Frost on grassy surfaces and rooftops at obs. time, but sun has already burned most of it away. High today expected to reach 60s, with small chance of rain overnight, which this area needs.
4/27/2018 7:00 AM T 0.0 M M M Small shower passed overhead at 12:00 a.m., according to radar. 45 degrees and sunny at obs. time with temps in the 50s and rain forecast for the afternoon.
4/28/2018 7:00 AM 0.06 0.0 M M M Was hoping for more rain than this but, according to radar, heavier precip. seemed to wrap around my location, particularly just to the north. Radar also indicated some "blues, i.e., snow, to my N and NE, but no flakes fell here.

4/30/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Beautiful day yesterday. Dry and cool but plentiful sun. 70s forecast for this week, as well as some much-needed rain.

5/2/2018 7:00 AM 0.03 0.0 M M M High of 81 degrees yesterday with low humidity. Storms moved through during the wee hours, with a thunderclap waking me at 3:36 this morning anda few flashes of lightning. Unfortunately, the heavier storms stayed north, depositing a disappointing 0.03" here. More rain forecast for tonight, however.
5/3/2018 7:00 AM 0.91 0.0 M M M Nasty stormfront approached from west around 8:30 last night, with continual lightning illuminating the clouds. At 8:35, the heavens unleashed and hail began pelting west-facing windows (separate CoCo hail report submitted). By 8:55, the worst of the storm had passed, leaving a more-gentle rainfall throughout the night. Yesterday's high reached 83 degrees. At obs. time, overcast, damp and 51 degrees, with more rain forecast for later today.
5/4/2018 7:00 AM 0.41 0.0 M M M Steady light drizzle yesterday for a few hours after obs. time deposited ~0.09" of rain before clearing up by late morning. In early evening, heavier but still gentle rain fell and deposited the balance. Unlike the previous night, the nastier part of this stormfront passed to the north/east so no thunder or lightning.
5/5/2018 7:00 AM 0.02 0.0 M M M A heavy mist and/or light drizzle fell for roughly two hours yesterday after obs. time. This morning, the temp is 54 degrees, calm and sunny, with a high in the mid 70s forecast.

5/9/2018 7:00 AM 0.05 0.0 M M M Ominous gray skies to SW this morning. Gentle rain started at 6:30 this morning, dropping 0.05" in 30 minutes. Faint distant rumbles of thunder hint at heavier rains forecast for the next several hours.
5/10/2018 7:00 AM 0.51 0.0 M M M Nice, steady, gentle, off-and-on rain for most of the day yesterday. Around 4:45 p.m., a nasty thunderstorm moved through NW of here and, for ~30 minutes, heavier rain fell, accompanied with hail. (Separate CoCo hail report submitted.) This storm spawned a tornado far NW of here, but appears to have caused only minor damage.
5/11/2018 7:00 AM 0.14 0.0 M M M Gentle rain in the wee hours this morning, and steadier rainfall at obs. time. Temps have plummeted overnight to chilly 38 degrees, with perhaps a degree or two rise forecast as today's high.

5/25/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M High of 86 yesterday and slightly humid later in the day. This Memorial Day weekend, however, promises highs in the upper 80s and low 90s with possible rain/storms late tonight/tomorrow morning. Seems like another year in which spring in Wisconsin was squeezed into a period of 2-3 weeks.
5/26/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 M M M M Hot and humid yesterday, but a decent breeze kept things relatively comfortable. No rain here at all overnight.
