5/31/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's a breezy morning in Roosevelt, AZ. There are soft, puffy clouds in the blue skies here. The wildfire about five miles from here seems to be under control now and although some parts of Arizona received rain late yesterday, we only had dark, ominous skies. I could smell rain outside but it must have evaporated before getting to the ground. Our power went out for four hours. I'm looking forward to some relief from the monsoon for our bone dry conditions. It can't come soon enough.
6/1/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this sunny and windy morning, smoke continues to make our view in Roosevelt, AZ very hazy. 6/25/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M This Thursday morning in Roosevelt, AZ there are a few cirrus clouds hovering above the area. The winds are calm and the earth and foliage continues to dry out from a lack of rain. 7/10/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M I wish I could report that we are receiving some precipitation in this area. But I cannot. Instead our temperatures are escalating to an alarming degree with no relief in sight for moisture. Roosevelt continues to dry out very seriously. There are high, thin clouds this Friday morning and I can only hope that everyone in this area can get through the next several days with dangerous heat levels. Animals are desperate for moisture. My water dishes were totally empty this morning after filling them three times yesterday.
7/11/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M When I went outside this morning to fill up the water dishes for the birds (there wasn't a drop of water left in them) the humidity hit me like a ton of bricks. What a difference from yesterday! I am going to try to be optimistic even though I don't enjoy high humidity. If the dew point and humidity levels can escalate and stay there, Arizona will stand a chance of having some much needed rain. Projected temperatures for today through Monday are record-breaking. It may go to 120 degrees tomorrow. That's nothing to look forward to. Everyone in this area needs to try to stay safe. Rain is desperately needed in Roosevelt, AZ.
7/12/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this Sunday morning in Roosevelt, AZ, we have high thin cirrus clouds, occasionally blocking the sun from view. Yesterday saw the first sign of monsoon moisture as the clouds built and built to the east of here...and then they continued their eastward trek. We had some high breezes but no rain. There was a visual sign that rain could be falling to the east and south of us. The thirsty birds and animals are draining my water dishes two to three times a day. We are in need of some drenching rain.
7/17/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The early morning clouds disappeared yesterday and we have a new set this morning in Roosevelt, AZ. The weather forecasters have not projected any relief from the drought at this point. We continue to dry out terribly from the lack of rain. Temperatures have moderated to the 110's for the foreseeable future.
7/18/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this bright Saturday morning in July, the clouds that obscured the sun around 6:00 a.m. have disappeared. Yesterday in Roosevelt, a promising monsoon cloud formed to the East, bringing the possibility of some moisture. South and east of here, sprinkles teased my windshield with enough drops to necessitate the windshield wipers movement. But here in Roosevelt, the only thing we could score were two thunder booms. Within a half-hour, the promising monsoon cloud fell apart and no rain fell.
7/19/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's Sunday morning in Roosevelt, AZ and we are greeted with partly cloudy skies and very warm temperatures. Due to a lack of precipitation and low humidity, the water in my water dishes and my fountain are rapidly evaporating. The non-drought tolerant plants in my yard are extremely stressed and not looking healthy. Unknown animals (probably rodents) managed to completely eat my two newest plants, a Gooding Verbena and a rose start which was standing about 4 inches tall. They left no trace, not even a leaf. Both were completely pulled out of the ground and taken away or eaten, even though they were fenced. The animals are desperate for anything green or wet. Monsoon, where are you?
7/20/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Roosevelt is socked in with heavy clouds this Monday morning. No rain has fallen but there is a strong indication that the monsoon season is on its way to this area, probably later in the week. We can only hope!
7/21/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this Tuesday morning in Roosevelt, Arizona, once again we are covered with heavy clouds. Rain can be seen falling from clouds over the mountains but there is nothing here. It is humid and the water dishes were completely empty this morning. The rain gauge sits, waiting patiently for some much-needed moisture.
7/22/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Rising around 5:30 a.m. in Roosevelt, AZ, I was greeted by heavy, dark clouds obscuring the rising sun. But a mere hour later, the clouds had vanished and the sun is blazing once again. The weather forecasters are predicting the first real monsoon storm for tomorrow. Time will tell. In the meantime, my rain gauge sits empty, anticipating anything measurable.
7/23/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Even though parts of the Valley received lightning, thunder and heavy rain last night, not a drop fell in Roosevelt. Tonto Basin was reported to have a heavy thunderstorm late yesterday afternoon. We wait so patiently for some relief from our drought laden land and plants. A coyote came to drink at the water dish just a few minutes ago, lapping water for several minutes to quench her thirst. My rain gauge remains empty at this hour.
7/24/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Any rain that fell in Arizona yesterday didn't come to Roosevelt. We continue to be rain deprived and my rain gauge waits and waits for any measurable precipitation. We can only hope that there will be a change and we'll receive that much-needed rain.
7/25/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M My report from Roosevelt, AZ is delayed today. Although the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix area) received reports of good rain yesterday and just 25 miles north of here there was enough rain to make puddles, Roosevelt is still high and dry. It is humid outside and we continue to anticipate the relief that rain would bring. But the rain gauge remains empty.
7/26/2020 8:00 AM 0.06 M M M M After watching ominous clouds off and on all day Saturday in Roosevelt, AZ and experiencing very gusty winds, Mother Nature finally broke through and sent a gentle rain that lasted about 15 minutes. At least it was measurable. It was a relief to receive some precipitation, however small.
7/29/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M In my absence from Roosevelt, AZ, heavy rain fell about 25 miles north of here, causing a serious mudslide and closing Highway 188. No moisture fell in Roosevelt, however. Our dry spell continues and temperatures are escalating to unprecedented highs. We can only pray for rain relief.
7/30/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Extreme heat permeates the area surrounding Roosevelt, AZ. The air has dried out and it was 92 degrees when I got up a little after 6 a.m. today. A little water remains in the water dishes I fill for birds and animals in my yard. But it will disappear shortly as they quench their thirst. No rain is predicted for anytime soon in this part of the desert Southwest.
7/31/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The Valley experienced a high temperature of 118 degrees yesterday. The humidity has dropped so there's no chance of rain anytime soon here in Roosevelt or throughout most of Arizona. The monsoon continues to be a "non-soon." It is anticipated that the temperature will reach another record-breaking high today. Until we can get some humidity in the state, we will continue to be dry.
8/1/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M We only have high temperatures to report from Roosevelt. It was over 90 degrees at 5:30 this morning. No signs of any rain are in the forecast for the foreseeable future.
8/2/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The clouds built and built yesterday and moved south and east, completely missing Roosevelt, AZ. It was one of those things where a person stands with their tongue hanging out, hoping and praying the prevailing winds will bless Roosevelt and give us some rain. But it wasn't meant to be. The sky was so black to the south and east, it was easy to imagine that a deluge was falling over Globe. The temperatures are still extremely high and record breaking. Monsoon, where are you?
8/3/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Due to the Apple Fire in California, our normally beautiful blue skies have been hazy for two days. Any hope have rain has diminished beyond the next week. A Gila Monster decided to make a brief visit a couple of days ago, apparently looking for some water. The trees and other plants are suffering due to lack of water. Cactus plants that are drought tolerant are shriveled and looking poor. Monsoon, where are you?
8/4/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's another heat advisory day in Roosevelt, AZ. Temps are expected to top out at 112 degrees in the lower desert. Our blue skies have returned with high cirrus clouds and the haze that has persisted from the Apple Fire in California has subsided this morning. I'm finding it necessary to fill the water dishes for the birds three times a day at times due to their thirst and evaporation.
8/5/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Blue skies are smiling on Roosevelt with high, thin clouds here and there. There is no sign of any rain here and we continue to dry out. The ground crackles when I walk on it. The monsoon seems to be non-existent this August.
8/6/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this Thursday morning, it is slightly cooler in Roosevelt, AZ but it will be short-lived. It was slightly cloudy when I got up shortly after 6 a.m. But the cloud cover has disappeared and we have clear blue skies. The meteorologists are baffled by this extended dry spell with no rain forecast anytime in the future. Arizona is dipping back into drought very quickly and my rain gauge remains empty.
8/7/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The news this morning from local forecasters is disturbing for Arizonans. Our temperatures are escalating after a brief reprieve and record keeping will have new records for the state. They're anticipating over a month of 110 degrees plus, with no rain in the forecast. My rain gauge continues to be empty and our drought is increasing daily.
8/8/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Nothing has changed in Roosevelt, AZ this bright Saturday morning. Blue skies prevail with light winds. Temperatures are expected to escalate in the coming days and no rain is in the forecast. The drought continues to worsen.
8/9/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's already getting extra-warm on this Sunday morning in Roosevelt, AZ. Brisk winds are fluttering the branches on trees and shrubs but no rain has come to this high desert area. Promising clouds developed to the south yesterday but nothing happened here. My rain gauge sits empty. We are experiencing a "nonsoon" monsoon season.
8/10/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M A few clouds are drifting by on this Monday morning in Roosevelt, AZ. Temperatures are expected to escalate into the one teens this week, bringing an excessive heat warning with no relief. No rain is forecast and the rain gauge remains empty, collecting debris from birds who sit on the post..time to clean it up.
8/11/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Well, I wish I had better news to report. However, the drought deepens in Roosevelt, AZ. The winds are still this morning but were very brisk all day yesterday. As the temperatures escalate this week, reportedly our humidity level is supposed to increase, allowing for the possibility of some rain in the state Typically, rain doesn't occur in Roosevelt unless the air is saturated. The humidity was reported as only 8% yesterday by the Phoenix weather man. Now, that's dry!
8/12/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's Wednesday morning in Roosevelt, AZ and after a partly cloudy sky at 5:45 a.m., the skies are mostly cloudless at this time. There's an extremely slight chance of some rain in the state today, but it's not a given. None is forecast for the Roosevelt area. It would be a real surprise if it happened. My rain gauge is thirsty and so are the birds and animals coming to visit. We refill the water dish one to two times a day to help quench their thirst.
8/13/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M High thin clouds permeate the skies this morning in Roosevelt, AZ - and some haze, perhaps from the new fire in California. The heat is expected to reach 114 degrees in the Valley today and for the next several days. Spotty showers may occur in isolated spots in Arizona. We continue to face unrelenting dryness. My rain gauge is bone dry.
8/14/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M In this 2020 monsoon season, the clouds build and look promising. But then they go away each afternoon, settling further east or to the south. Our temperatures are reaching record highs and the length of time for 110+ has broken all records since recording began. Now the excessive heat warning, with no rain predicted, has been extended for another week. My rain gauge is very empty.
8/15/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this Saturday morning in Roosevelt, AZ, we have a cloudless blue sky. According to the weather forecaster, the humidity has risen from 8% to 63%, making the 90+ degrees outside feel very muggy. But still, even with high humidity and record-breaking temperatures, no rain is on the horizon. A person from NOAA was consulted this morning and said there's a possibility that some tropical moisture can finally generate some rain in Arizona by next weekend. But there's no "for sure." My rain gauge remains empty.
8/18/2020 8:00 AM 0.16 M M M M Well, well, well. A surprise thunderstorm came blustering through Roosevelt, AZ yesterday around 5 pm. Winds were gusting up to 50 mph, bending the tree branches in the neighborhood. Lightning and thunder accompanied the wind and heavy clouds and then the brief, heavy rain came down, dropping the stifling temperature to 86 degrees. What a scary and pleasant relief it was! There's a wildfire in the mountains to the south of Roosevelt probably caused by lightning the day before and I was hopeful that the rain would douse the flames. However, there was still a smoke plume when the clouds lifted yesterday and also this morning.
8/19/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M We are surrounded on two sides by lightning caused wildfires this morning in Roosevelt, AZ. The main road into Globe is closed (Hwy. 188) due to one of the fires. We are in such need of a soaking rain. However, all we received yesterday was a sprinkle - there was nothing measurable. The smoke is pervasive and it's not pleasant to be outside. There is a slight chance of rain today with continued elevated temperatures.
8/20/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M During the night I heard one thunder clap far off in the distance. But that was it! The Salt Fire is raging about five miles from Roosevelt, causing the Emergency Systems to notify residents in this area to prepare for possible evacuation. This is the second time in two years. I've lived here for 15 and last year was my first time to evacuate from anywhere. We remain dry here but the potential for monsoon storms this afternoon are a possibility. If I am required to evacuate, there will be no report from this location for several days.
8/21/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this Friday morning in Roosevelt, AZ smoke from the several close by fires continues to muddy our normally blue skies. Heavy rain fell in the Phoenix and Eastern Valley area last night but we received nothing here but wind. The smoke was so dense from the Salt Fire that the inside of my house was filled with the smell, making it difficult to breathe. We are in desperate need of a drenching rain but it does not look promising for this area. We continue to be bone dry. Our area is in a SET mode for possible evacuation.
8/23/2020 8:00 AM 0.08 M M M M No rain was predicted for this area yesterday. But the humidity level was extremely high. At approximately 4:30 in the afternoon I noticed that south of Roosevelt, AZ, a very dark wall of clouds was obliterating the mountains where the fires are raging. The winds picked up and it kept moving closer to this area with an abundance of lightning and thunder (the lightning wasn't appreciated since it caused the existing wildfires). The wind gusts were very brisk and then we received some refreshing rain that dropped the temperature into the low 80's from the 100's. The storm marched to the north, putting on quite a lightning show for quite some time then our power went out for about six hours. It was a very interesting day and evening.
8/24/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Conditions on Sunday evening were ripe for a good soaking rain. Clouds built late in the afternoon, turning the skies to the south very dark. The weather map indicated that rain was in the area but nothing happened in Quail Run. Not one drop of moisture fell. Today excessive temperatures are once again in the forecast and a slight possibility of rain with high humidity.
8/25/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M A new wildfire erupted overnight in the Roosevelt area - the Meddler Fire is in the Cherry Creek area across Roosevelt Lake. The nighttime and morning hours are filled with choking smoke and bright red sunrises. We are in desperate need of a soaking rain. However, after witnessing the devastation from the Salt Fire, I know that heavy rain will bring terrible flooding. Saguaros and other cacti were obliterated from the intense heat of the fire and it looks like a moon scape. It is very sad to see the desert in such tragic condition. In the 15 years I've lived here, I've never witnessed such a strike on the landscape. Fortunately, no fire personnel or others were injured and no structures were lost.
8/26/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Finally this morning in Roosevelt, AZ I can see some sky without the heavy cloak of smoke we've been experiencing for days. However, the fires are not out and the fight continues. Although there were storms in the mountains east of here yesterday, we received no moisture, whatsoever. I took several photos yesterday of the barren landscape caused by the Salt Fire. Our once thriving desert landscape is not scarred by the flames and heat of the fire. The saguaros (which are an endangered species) that have been burned, won't be able to recover because their skin is gone. Cholla cactus look like something from a horror movie. The land resembles a moonscape. It's very sad. Any heavy rain that might fall now could cause massive flooding across the burn scar. It is a sad commentary to write.
8/27/2020 8:00 AM 0.25 M M M M A surprise storm passed through Roosevelt, AZ and brought a quarter of an inch late on Thursday, into Friday. It helped to settle the dust and give some relief to the firefighters.
8/30/2020 8:00 AM 0.07 M M M M I was not at this location but was in the lower desert where a tremendous amount of rain came through sending rushing water down the street. When I returned to Roosevelt late this morning, the predicted severe thunderstorm that was projected for our area gave very little to the rain gauge. But anything is better than what we've experienced for a majority of the summer. The latest burn scar looked different today after the rain. I was expecting to see signs of flash flooding but did not. Another couple of wilddfires are burning close by but the intense smoke that we have experienced for several weeks has subsided in this area. It is a treat to see blue skies over Roosevelt. I am grateful. Heavy rain is forecast for later today in this area.
8/31/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Although parts of the low desert received a good dose of moisture yesterday, we were left high and dry in Roosevelt, AZ. Promising rain clouds skirted the sky in the afternoon but we received nothing.
9/1/2020 8:00 AM 0.04 M M M M Well, Quail Run in Roosevelt, AZ had a surprise overnight. Puddles sit in the street this morning Even though it wasn't much, I'm grateful to report a little moisture in my rain gauge this morning Temperatures are projected to escalate this week, back into the 110 degree area. That was not originally predicted but climate change predominates.
9/3/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Blue skies are shining on Roosevelt, AZ this Thursday morning. We are going to continue drying out in the upcoming days with no rain forecast in the next seven days. Our monsoon season has been a "bust."
9/4/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The dry spell in Roosevelt, AZ continues today and we are expecting the highest temperatures of the weekend. The projected high in the Valley of the Sun is 113 degrees. It won't be quite that hot in Roosevelt but it will be record breaking. No water is in my rain gauge and the thirsty birds and animals continue to empty my water dishes and birdbath to get some relief.
9/6/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this Sunday morning in Roosevelt, AZ, the gusty winds have died down as we continue to experience higher than normal temperatures and a prolonged dry period. A brief shower was shown on radar last night, but there's no evidence of any moisture in the rain gauge. So apparently it passed us by.
9/7/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M A few clouds dot the skies this Labor Day morning in Roosevelt, AZ. The Heat Advisory was extended through today. However, some changes are expected beginning tomorrow with high winds and a lowering of our temperatures into the 90's. The front, blowing down from Canada may bring some moisture to the High Country of Arizona but nothing is anticipated for Roosevelt.
9/8/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M This Tuesday morning after Labor Day, there's a light, dry wind blowing in Roosevelt, AZ. This is a forerunner of the cold front coming from Canada which is expected to skirt Arizona with much higher winds later today, into tomorrow. This will increase chances of wildfires in Arizona. Because of the California fires, the sun was a blazing ball of red this morning, making for a nice photo op. There's only a slight possibility of rain for this area in the forecast but temperatures are expected to dip into the 90's for a couple of days which will be a relief after our brutal summer temperatures.
9/9/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The winds blew through and heavy clouds formed yesterday, but no moisture fell in Roosevelt, AZ at this location. The benefit of all that bluster is that I can open my front door this morning to 65 degrees - a tremendous drop from the normal high 80's or low 90's. We'll enjoy these milder temperatures for a couple of days but everything has dried out again and the temperatures will rise. No rain is in the forecast for anytime in the future and the rain gauge remains empty.
9/10/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's a bright, blue-sky day in Roosevelt, AZ. The best part is that it was 64 degrees when I got up around 6:00 a.m. There are brisk, cool winds this morning, a decided difference from the intensive heat we have experienced for months in the Southwest. The smoke from the coastal fires is not muddying up our skies this morning. Unfortunately, there is no moisture forecast for this area in the coming days.
9/11/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M This Friday morning in Roosevelt, AZ, the sun was a red ball showing through the dense cover of smoke from the fires on the West Coast. So far, the sun hasn't been able to penetrate the atmosphere and so it appears to be very overcast. Our drought continues to deepen each day. No rain is forecast for anytime in the future and the monsoon season is nearly considered to be "dead" for this year. The monsoon officially ends on September 30 but the weather forecasters have said that it's done for 2020.
9/12/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this Saturday morning in Roosevelt, AZ, once again the rising sun was a red ball due to the heavy smoke cover from the West Coast fires. By 8:00 a.m., the smoke was beginning to lift and the sun was a more normal golden color. The winds are still this morning and temperatures are lovely for my morning walk. No moisture is gracing this area and the rain gauge remains empty.
9/13/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's another smoky, gray looking Sunday morning in Roosevelt, AZ. The sun was once again a very red ball, trying to penetrate the atmosphere through the smoky skies. The dryness can be felt on my skin, when I walk on the ground and by the number of birds and animals who visit my water sources. There was a set of triplet coyotes two days ago, images of their mother with a large white stripe of fur across their backs. They drank and drank, trying to quench their thirst, all the while keeping a wary set of eyes checking for any predators. As long as I can provide water for birds and animals, I will do so. But my rain gauge is thirsty too.
9/14/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Good Monday morning from Roosevelt, AZ. The pervasive smoke cover has lifted and we have more normal blue skies in our area today. There is only a light breeze and our drought continues. The rain gauge remains empty.
9/15/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's Tuesday morning in Roosevelt, AZ. It has been reported that there is a new wildfire in northern Arizona near Flagstaff. And there has been some rain in that area. We are extremely dry and no relief is anywhere in sight. It's as if the monsoon did not exist this season. The rain gauge is bone dry.
9/16/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's Wednesday morning in Roosevelt, AZ and we have hazy blue skies and little to no breeze. The dry trend continues to permeate our surroundings. The rain gauge is bone dry.
9/22/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this first day of Autumn, the drought continues to deepen in Roosevelt, AZ. In my absence no rain fell and my rain gauge continues to be empty. There are, however, some clouds are overhead on this Tuesday morning. Some rain showers have occurred in Arizona today in some spots but so far, nothing has blest us. Hope springs eternal.
9/23/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M This Wednesday morning in Roosevelt, AZ, I was greeted with mild temperatures. We have plenty of sunshine and blue skies. The cloudy conditions from yesterday are gone and we received no rain at this location. It looked so promising but didn't deliver.
9/24/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On this sunny Thursday morning in Roosevelt, AZ, the drought continues to deepen as no moisture is able to get to this area. High pressure persists and fends off any hope of rain. We can only hope that we receive winter rains to replenish the land and the watercourses. The rain gauge is empty.
9/25/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's a beautiful day in the Roosevelt, Arizona neighborhood. Plenty of sunshine and blue skies abound. There's no chance of rain for the next several days and so the drought continues to deepen.
9/26/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's another sunny, slightly humid morning in Roosevelt, AZ. Smoke from a new fire is visible in the north and western skies this morning. There is little wind and no precipitation whatsoever. The rain gauge just sits, waiting patiently for something to enter it. I have lost count as to how long it's been since any measurable rain in this area. We continue to be bone dry.
9/27/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Happy Sunday from Roosevelt, AZ. Sunshine and blue skies are our blessing today. Unfortunately, our drought deepens and there is no rain in the forecast for us anytime in the near future. We can only hope that there will be a break in the weather and a low pressure front will provide us with moisture.
9/28/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Happy Monday morning from Roosevelt, AZ. We have been greeted with pleasant and cool temperatures this morning with clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. From the weather map it appears that mid-America is receiving the bulk of moisture. Arizona continues to be drought stricken and my rain gauge is empty still.
9/29/2020 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It's a fairly breezy Tuesday morning in Roosevelt, AZ. The forecasters have notified us that the next couple of days is going to bring windy, drier conditions, upping the fire danger for our state. It was also reported that we're heading into a La Nina pattern which means even less chance of rain for this parched desert area. Our skies are clear and the sun is intense at this time of the year. The rain gauge is empty.

11/21/2019 12/07/2019 8:00 AM 17 M M M Because I was out of state, I missed the big rain event that occurred on the several days I was gone. There was flash flooding in the area so the amount was substantial.
