2nd sun spot appears on west face of suns disk. Good thing we have modern close to sun satellites with telescopes monitoring every square inch of the sun disk or we would never see any of these sun spots, they are so small. Back on earth. Very cool mornings, evenings and cold nights. A little further north and it is furnace nights and mornings. |

Our one and only spec of a sun spot is about out of sight on the west edge of the sun. The tiny spots we get are very, very silent, singular, and docile. Lucky we have satellites next to the sun with telescopes and computers searching for them or it would be like the 1800's and marked down as a blank disk.
No rain in sight, cooler weather this week. Maybe slow those forest fires down. |

Zero rain in forecast. Hundreds of million tons of smoke pollution from U.S. forest fires. Smoke very heavy. 3 years since last major fires in California from lack of forest management. Nothing done after fires out, to correct their problem and the fires are back. Governor blames climate change. They have to change with the climate to survive. You don't tell the climate what to do. |

Due to increasing sun spot activity NASA and NOAA have officially said solar cycle 25 has begun. Meanwhile, a 26 day stretch of a blank sun disc begs to differ, with a sun spot showing up (in a 20 day plus blank stretch) for a day or two starting the blank count over from zero days.
Heavy smoke from U.S. wildfires still hanging in here although it has cleared considerably the sun is still a dull orange fireball. |
