A totally crazy day. Wildfire raging out of control west of us sending such a dense plume of smoke that it seemed like midnight at noon with street lights on, etc. Stayed much cooler than predicted only barely reaching 71F briefly in the afternoon when smoke thinned a bit. Cold front then arrived on schedule around 10 PM and cold rain began after midnight fallng steadily overnight. By sunrise it was snowing slush -- accumulating only on the grass but still this is ridiculously early for snow - our all time earliest measurable snowfall in recorded history back to the 1880s.
