At 9am it was 46 degrees and fog that blocked my view starting at about 900 ft. Big droplets were hanging from everything. Sky grey. the mountains were half covered with fog (about 3/4 of a mile away). // At 12:30am it was 42 degrees. One of my thermometers has a clear front on it, and there were big droplets on it that "looked like" they were frozen, but it wasnt cold enough to freeze-- I did not go outside and touch them.// It was a cold day, had to put on warm clothes, and at night a blanket on my lap while watching TV; and 2 on my bed at night! WEt and rainy and overcast all day. // Next morning at 9:15am everything was wet but not raining. It was 42 degrees, and overcast. Fog over mountains. and .18 in water gauge. |

Dull white sky at 10:15am and 65 degrees; small strip of blue sky to the NW. At 3pm it was 72 degrees; some partial dark spots in the clouds, and still blue sky. Was same all day. We did not get the wind in the evening that other towns, like Lyons got. At 12:20am I looked outside and the deck was coated with "bumpy ice" which was probably grapple (a mix of rain and hail pellets??) that they were talking about on TV hitting Denver area, but it was solid. And 32 degrees. Got very cold at night, and could feel it in the house. Disconnected the hoses and let the faucet drip. Next morning at 10am it was 22 degrees and overcast and foggy on almost hiding mountains. Accumulated snow was light, and a thin layer of ice under it. |

Cold overcast day, with fog or mist all day covering the mountains. At 10am it was 22 degrees. rest of day in the low 20s and mix of snow or fog or mist in the "air". At 9pm it was 15 degrees. At 11pm it was 20 deg. and 12:30am 18 degrees. 3:30am still 18 degrees. Next morning in low 20s, and sunny with light blue sky and no fog. 2" of snow accumulated over the day, but would shrink down as the day progressed. I swept my porch 3 times, just to be able to walk outside in my slippers, not bec. it was a lot of snow. |

At 10:30am it was 25 degrees and sunny with blue sky. At 3:30pm all the snow had melted off my deck (and 95% of it gone "everywhere" by the next morning). The odd thing was when I was "on the road" at 5:30pm, and the sun was near setting, the mountains (just a mile, or so, from my home) along hwy 36 still had snow on the ground, and the pine tree branches coated with snow, and all on the east side facing. and it was 43 deg (5pm) and sunny but feeling frigid. At night at 12:20am it was 27 degrees. Next day it was much warmer in the morning (like moving into the 30s and 40s), and sunny. |

I had to move the thermostat to see if that high temperature would hold true because it felt more like in the 60s (I just checked and my neighbor said it was 69 for a high). No wind.Next morning, same whitish sky and no wind. |

The day began with 1" of snow. There was an icy layer on the bottom. At 11:10am a light snow began, and within 15 minutes it got heavier ==and was "rice" snow (tiny circles); and was 23 degrees; and was 1/4" in depth. At 12:30am it was not snowing and was still 23 degrees. It snowed lightly and briefly again during the day and again in the evening, with an accumulation at midnight of 1"; and was 23 degrees. At 10am it was 50 degrees. I did some outdoor gardening work, incl. gutters! was even ok to get soaked gloves in the gutter and not freeze! 70%of snow was left, but could see melting throughout the day. Strong gusts of wind; started in morning at about 20mph, but experienced some in the 60s later -- blew the door out of my hand about 1pm! The gusts were infrequent and stopped mid-day (thanks so I could get on the ladder). At 5:30pm wind started up again. Hi gusts on and off all evening. At 1am it was still 42 degrees! what a surprise. I went outside to look at the stars and was surprised at how mild it was; no shivers. It was also warm enough to throw off one of the blankets at night. But dropped down to 30 in morning and was overcast. Snow is coming! |

At 11:30am it was 31 degrees and overcast. Snow became about 1:45pm, and it was 28 degrees. It was white balls pea-size. At 2:30pm it had covered the deck solid, but not measureable in inches. It snowed all day. At 9pm there was 9inches.// I made a Signif. Wether report when it reached 14inches and .63 precip at 11:45pm (and 24 degrees). I also took a core measurement since the snow was over the edge of the gauge; but both matched up ok. //It snowed all night. It is still snowing lightly as I write this. there is an additional 10" of snow, with approximately the same water content. The snow is very light and if I shovel a path, the sides fall in (into the cleared space); and once while I was out the snow fell off of one tree (a lot). But it is holding up surprisingly well! I have snow on my railings, even the slated ones on the stairs, that are holding their piles of snow.// It is 20 degrees. With another 10 inches falling, totalling 24 in. and .66 in the gauge, added to the prev. 63. By the way, I'm not rounding off the figures, it is exactly 24 inches. Time to feed the poor birds! |

It continued to snow after I took the morning measurement, for maybe a couple of hours. By 12/1pm it had clearly stopped. Blue sky. I measured the snow then. The snow had left a thin, light layer on the deck. and no more snow for rest of day. At 3pm it was 22 degrees. At 9pm it was 10 degrees. At 12:15 am it was 6 degrees. Next morning at 9;30am it was 24 degrees. blue sky. No melting, just some settling. Surprisingly, the tall snow, even on the railing, (& trees) did not fall off. It's still fluffy; no warmth to start making it heavy. |

A cold day. The big wind storm that was predicted did not hit my area; yes, windy but not any where close to what I'v seen here. // At 1:45pm 28 degrees and mild wind, with occasional gusts. There was a "hum" in the air, which usually means that the wind is much higher up and not hitting "me" on ground level; this was for most of the day and evening. //At 9:30pm it was 18 degrees and you could really feel the cold. At midnight the hum continued, and 22 degrees.// Next morning at 8:45 am it was 24 degrees. It was very "still" (quiet) and bright outside. The wind had blown some of the snow around, covering the driveway in a short layer of hard snow. In the shady part, the snow was 11 inches in height, and in the more exposed parts, it was 9" of snow height. But the tall chunks or pillars of snow that were on boulders or roofs, etc. were still intact, despite the winds. |

So now we get the big winds! and gust.// In the morning it was fairly calm, and 39 degrees at 9:30am. Sunny day. At 1pm it was 46 degrees and some melting and drying happening. Around 7-ish the big gusts started, and stayed all night, and somewhat in the morning. These were in the 60 and 75+ mph -and- constant gusts (meaning: not a nice steady wind, but no minutes in between the gusts...just whipping the trees around; and it seemed to come from all directions at times). At about 7:30pm it was 42 degrees. At 11:35pm it was 44 degrees, and even in the morning at 9:15am, it was 40 degrees. Still a constant wind in the morning, closer to 30-35 mph. Overnight, it send some plastic lawn furniture flying off the deck. I could hear it in the house all night.// Sunny morning. It swept away a lot of the snow, including these pesky "columns" that I didnt get off my car etc.; and tiny drifts. Near the house there were areas you could see the grass, and some spots there were only 2-3 inches of snow; but most were still in the 7 - 9 inch range. |

At 9:15am it was 34 degrees, and all wet from an overnight rain; It looked like it had frozen and was thawed (ripples); not raining. At 9:30am it was 36 and light rain. I went to town, where it lightly rained the whole trip; and when I came home at 3pm it was 36 degrees. On the hwy. about a mile from my home, you could only see 100 feet in front of you (fog). But at my street, I could see, maybe 1,000 feet. Surrounding mountains and overhead was foggy, but I could see down my street the homes. //At 7pm I looked outside and there was a layer of fluffy white snow covering 60% of the deck and railings; and was 33 degrees. I looked out again twice later, and in the morning, and it still looked the same (& I melted the edges of the gauge, and came up with a surprising .10). The snow was on top of a layer of ice. At 12am it was 27 degrees. at 10am it was 34 degrees.// Walking around, the snow was anywhere from 2, 3, 4, 5 inches, but 3" seemed to be the most common. |

At 11am the deck was wet from the snow, and you could see a light layer (like powdered sugar; not covering every inch) on the ground, which would quickly melt after that. At 9:30am 2/3 it was still snowing lightly; overcast; 18 degrees. The light fluffy snow had a thin layer of ice (glaze) under it. It measured 1", so the next morning when I measured it at 7", it meant there was 6" more. However (1) in some places it was 5.5" of snow in depth and (2) it had settled=as it measured at 7" at midnight and another 1" had fell after that.// Going back to the day, at 12:30pm noon time, 1" more had fallen. At 8pm, 4" more had fallen (total 5"); and 12 degrees. At 12:45am midnight time, 3" more had fallen, or 7" measured at that time; and 10 degrees. Next morning , not snowing, but snow starting to fall from snow-covered limbs at about 10am, and 8 degrees. So the total new snow (not counting the 1" from yesterday count) is 8". |

A warm day. I took off my winter coat mid-day and walked around outside that way till sunset. At 11am it was 42 degrees and you could feel it. I noticed mid-day that I felt the heat of the sun on me; I havent felt that in weeks or months?! At 1am it was 30 degrees, so it looks like it will hold some of the heat for next day. At 10:30am - 34 degrees and gloomy. At 2:30pm 33 degrees. Cold and no melting. At 1:15 am - 20 degrees, and 3 inches of snow has fallen.--started in mid-afternoon, around 5-ish. Next morning it had settled to 2 inches and there was a light layer of snow, but it could have been just from snow dropping/blowing. It was in the low 20's in morning and deep blue sky mostly; some lighter blue too. Snow depth was from 6 to 9 inches total (old and new), and 7" mostly. |

Warm and windy morning, and continued through the day. AT 1:15pm it was 55 degrees;wow! Next morning at 9:15am it was 42 degrees and sunny. 4-3/4 to 5" of old snow left. It seems like it is melting at the bottom instead of the top, as the top looks the same - hard and solid. The areas on the driveway that I shoveled are mostly melted to the gravel, but 80-90% of the ground elsewhere is solid snow. |

At 9:15am it was sunny and 42 degrees. betw 4-3/4 and 5" of old snow left. At 12noon noticed wind. Got home at 6pm and it was high winds, 40mph+. 45 degrees. AT 8pm still blowing. we have switched to Daylight Savings Time. At 9:40am it was 48 degrees. Warm enough day to go out with a long-sleeve top. A trace of rain at 5pm. 50% of the snow is left and is 4" deep. It is melting away from structures, but the "free standing" snow has remained at 4 inches for a few days despite the warm weather, probably because it is so hard, and there is some melting going on underneath, where it touches the ground. At 6pm it was 56 degrees. At 1am the deck was wet. There was a heavy fog, and I could not see my neighbor's house which is about 500 feet away; it was 39 degrees. Next morning sunny and in the 40s. It rained overnight and there was .07 in the gauge. |

At 10:30am it was pretty strong winds, maybe 40mph. At 2pm it was breezy and 58 degrees. The sky was dark grey with a blue tinge to it. The day started with 7 inches of snow. But on some tree branches the snow was 12" high,and there were small icicles about 3" long hanging from many of them. I couldn't just knock a branch to get the snow to fall off, I had to hit the snow lump; which is unusual; and the snow was not wet and fell in mostly chunks.//the sky was grey in the morning and there was a heavy fog/or cloud on the ground, about 500 feet away from me, all around. At 3pm it was still hazy, and 21 degrees. Around 1pm to about 4:30pm there were some light flurries. At 4:15pm the sun came out and it got bright over the next 1/2 hour and stayed that way; saw it still bright at 6:30pm, and 21 degrees. that night got to 18 degrees at 12:15am. there was 1/2" of snow on the ground from earlier snowing. Grass is brilliant deep green and about 5 inches tall. My budding trees always take a long time to get started, and nothing is going on yet. The pines have dropped their cones about 2-3 weeks ago. and the junipers are green again (turn brownish in the winter). A cold day, with fog often. At 10am it was 33 degrees and dull outside. At 11am it started to rain, and did so for most of the afternoon. It seemed to stop about 4-5pm, and the deck was almost completely dry; but it restarted about 5-6pm and seemed to continue into the night. I could hear heavy rain about 10:30pm. At 12-midnight it was 42 degrees, fog, and no rain. Next morning it was sunny and quickly warming up (58 degrees at 10am). Deck was 75% dry already.=.20 in the gauge. |

Rain clouds to NW at 10am, there was a mist in the air. At 11am it was "all clouds". At 12:10pm there was the first thunder;no rain. At 12:24pm a big clap of thunder and the first few drops. At 12:50pm heavy rain and small hail dropped. The hail was a variety of sizes, but all under 1/4", and -rare for me- it was a mix of clear and opaque hail. It only lasted maybe 10-15 minutes. (I did do a hail report at the time.) At 1:40pm the hail was now just a small section in the corner of the house deck; all melted. Clouds were moving fast across the sky toward the east; half the sky was white cumulus clouds and the sun had come out. At 1:46pm the sky was blue and it was sunny but traces of thunder were going on, and no rain. at 4:25pm lots of thunder! at 4:28pm it rained and it was a solid medium grey color sky. It continued to rain for a short period and stop for a couple of hours, and restart = for the rest of the night. At 9pm it was 52 degrees. // Next morning it was overcast, and in low 50s, and not raining at around 10/10;30am (but would soon start) I was surprised to see only .12 in the gauge. |

A sunny hot day. At 2:30pm it was sunny and 87 degrees. About 4:30pm some thunder rumbling./ Lots of rolling thunder and sprinkles at 5:01pm, and 74 degrees; and overcast. At 6pm constant rolling thunder. at 7:34pm sprinkle. 7:45pm rain, still thunder; 8pm still same. A touch of blue sky in the NW at dusk. At 9:30pm to 10:30pm it as CRAZY!! constant thunder and "full sky" lighting (not strikes but light); strong winds whipping around and rain. When I went outside to move things, the few big drops felt like hail on me, but nothing on the ground. At 10:16pm heavy rainfall. At 10:30pm all was quiet. It was scary! I shut off the TV and put in ear plugs to calm the noise down! // At 12:30am it was quiet and a breeze.//Next morning some sun. |

At 10:15am it was already 83 degrees; breeze; solid light blue sky. At 1pm the temperature IN THE SUN 112 degrees / and in the "shade" it was 87 degrees; with 20mph wind. This is the hottest my house has been all summer; probably bec. it was two days in a row near 100 in Colorado. At 3pm it was 91 degrees HERE (98 in Denver) and 20 mph wind still. // At 8:30pm it was 73 degrees; I could actually go out and water the plants and not be hot and sweaty; but indoors was worse! Some grey and brown clouds to the NW which is due to the forest fire plume from west Colorado. |

I went to Estes Park NW of here and there was one big whitish bellow of a cloud from the forest fires, to the left of Lake Estes (north), and next to it, extending right along the rest of hte lake - a long wispier cloud; but the sky otherwise (elsewhere) was ok. I was gone from about 2 to 5pm, and when I got home the deck was 50% quite wet (.04 in the gauge) so it must have rained pretty recently. But I have to say, while I was driving from Lyons - around Lyons it was raining pretty hard. Then about 5 miles from home it was clearing up, and the sky was so clear outside that I felt like I was wearing Polaroid glasses! The road was very wet and big splashes from the cars. Then about 1-2 miles from home it was a bit more hazy again, and wet roads, but no splashes from cars. At 5pm it was 75 degrees, and a cool night. Next morning it was chilly (at 10am it was only 68 degrees); clear blue sky. |

At 11:3pm it was 46 degrees, and .3 in the gauge, sprinkles. At 3am it was 40 degrees; no snow yet. At 9am it was 36 degrees and 1/4" of snow, and .29 in the gauge(melted). It was wet and heavy. The warmth of the weekend probably made the first snowfall melt, and the lasting one on the railing was wet snow at the bottom. Everyone had broken deciduous tree branches in town, but here we have evergreens, and 1/4" of snow isnt going to break them. I did bring in all my annuals! |

A cold day, gloomy all day, waiting for the next big snowfall, but very little fell. At 2pm there was a rain or sprinkle; but no new snow. the old snow was slushy, and it was 34 degrees. At 4pm it was 33 degrees, and one inch of snow snow was falling. By 6pm it became 3". It really felt cold in the house! I had to turn the heat on. At 7:30pm there was 4.5" of snow and it was not snowing; and was 29 degrees. At 11:30pm 6.5" of snow had now accumulated, and it was 29 degrees. the next morning it settled down to 6 inches; and .56 in the gauge. |

Morning started out at 11am at 31 degrees, but went into the 40s. The snow then began melting. In the evening, there was lots of snow melting from the trees. You could hear it dripping, a lot, and this was dusk when I went out at 5pm, when it should have gotten too cold to melt. Remained in 40s. At 10:30am it was 41 degrees. At 12:30pm 46 degrees; and 4pm - 44 degrees; At 9pm it was 40. I measured it at night when it was getting dark;and there was 2-3/4 inches left, and by morning only 1-3/4" left! |

Cloudy in morning with light wind and cold. At 1:15pm it was 79 degrees, sunny and blue peeking out between the clouds. It seemed to be rain clouds. At 7pm it was 68 degrees and a haze; but now it was thicker with smoke. It was the first time I could smell smoke in my house for a few weeks. I hear there were two forest fires burning north of me (about 60 miles) that were "hot". It was forecast as the last day of September that would be close to 90, but we have been staying at the 80 degree mark here; same with mornings being about 10 degrees cooler than the Denver forecast. |
