There was actually 0.01” water in the gauge, but I think it was dew. The dew is very heavy and there is some frost as well. Also, lots of condensation on gauge. It is only 37 degrees - brrrr! Clear and sunny and very still. Yesterday was quite windy - leaves scattered everywhere, but still plenty on the trees. Color is gradually coming, but still lots of green. |

Looks like it has just recently started sprinkling a little. Very light rain. Cloudy, 54 degrees, no wind. It seems as though the rain we’ve gotten over last week or so is just not catching us up after being so dry. Only a couple of times was there over a tenth of an inch. And those were intermittent over a day or night and not steady, soaking rains. |

I don’t think the Trace in the cylinder is dew as there is not much on the grass and there is a breeze this morning. However, not sure when it might have rained - maybe a shower at night. Yesterday afternoon the clouds cleared out and it was beautifully sunny before clouding up again in before sunset. Temperature got up to 65 with a breeze. Nice to see the sun for a change! |

That was quite a storm! Driving was very hazardous in the early evening - rain was falling hard and there was standing water in many places. Rain fell hard for a long time which is why there was 2.76” in the gauge this morning! Not raining now - hasn’t rained for awhile. Very windy, but we have power and I haven’t seen any large branches or trees down around the house. It is cloudy now, but there are some blue patches. Temperature in high 40’s. |

What a surprise - as I walked up to the gauge, the liquid in it was a pale magenta! I wondered if a bug had drowned in the rain water, but when I took the funnel off, there was what looked like a small blueberry lodged in the hole! We had strong winds all day yesterday, but I’m thinking a bird dropped it. It didn’t keep any rain from trickling through - just colored it. There were a few, brief showers yesterday which accounted for the 0.09” in the inner cylinder. This morning is sunny - it is shining brightly on the hill across the lake. We are still in the shadow of our hill. There is a bit of a breeze, but nothing like the wind yesterday! |

The rain was really heavy yesterday until late afternoon. And sometimes windy. But at least it wasn’t cold - stayed around 55 degrees. The gauge had a “collar” of snow on the top, although the level of snow inside the gauge was well below that. I slapped the top with my snow swatter - I think I saw that in one of the videos. So, I’m not sure if it is an accurate catch. Also, when I went to melt the snow, there was a layer of ice in the bottom of the gauge below the snow. I have got to get more efficient at this as it seems to take so long to get all the measurments. It is cloudy this morning and there were a few flakes in the air when I took the measurements at 8:00. |

Sleet and freezing rain this morning. It looks like earlier there was some snow also. Fortunately, you can walk on the grassy areas because it breaks through and is not hard and slick. Very strange storm at about 4:00 pm yesterday. Thunder and lightning and then heavy sleet followed by snow. Temperature was right around freezing and it left a layer of ice/snow on everything. It ended before 5:00, but rained more after. This morning there was rain and some slushy ice in the gauge. There was still some ice/snow on the ground and snow board as well. It is 35 now and partly sunny. When the storm hit in early evening, it took people by surprise. The plows didn’t get out for another half hour or so - on our small road which is a hill. We saw several people sliding on it. |

Happy new year and decade! There was a trace of water in the gauge this morning - not frozen although it is 30 degrees. There was a trace of snow on snowboard - very minimal. Maybe it blew there, but it looked like on the ground there was a trace of new snow also in the icy depressions left from yesterday. The ground is not completely covered in snow/ice - some places there is almost half an inch, some places 0.2” and other places completely bare. I decided to report it as a trace averaged across the whole landscape. |

It snowed for longer yesterday than I had anticipated. Sleet was mixed in around 1:00pm before it went back to all snow and then finally turned to all rain about 4:00pm. We were driving at the time the sleet came and the roads were very slippery. Very approximate times. The gauge had ice and water in it when I checked it at 8:00am. A racoon ran across my snowboard sometime in the night, but fortunately left enough untouched snow to measure. The snow was very icy. This seems too early in the summer for my evening ritual to be watering plants. We haven’t put the air conditioner in the bedroom yet - we are able to keep it comfortable with a fan. Again no rain! Partly cloudy this morning. It cooled off nicely last night and this morning it is only 66. Very still. Our road is being repaved and yesterday they took off all the old pavement so it is now just dirt. It is so dusty - clouds of dust floating over our yard. I read yesterday that around 49% of the state is experiencing abnormally dry weather, but they are not worried about a drought as the water supplies seem OK. |

Almost a half inch of rain yesterday - heavy at times. Lots of plants bursting into bloom now - bee balm, butterfly weed, lizards tail, day lilies, sun drops. Good to see. Not as many pollinators as usual on them, I don’t think. I wonder if it is due to the road work that has been going on here since late March? Trucks running all day long some times. Last week when the road was all dug up and they kept grading it and rolling it all day, my husband and I had sinus problems. That was also when we hadn’t had rain for two weeks. Our first actual thunderstorm in awhile yesterday at about 5:30 pm. Recently, most have gone around us, although at least giving us rain. Rain was heavy for awhile - thought w might have to dump some water from the pool. In the first 4 days of July, we have received about the same amount of rain as for all of June! My plants have visibly grown several more inches since yesterday! Cloudy this morning and very still. 69 degrees. I don’t hear any boats on the lake yet. |

Storm started around 1:15 pm yesterday. Rain was heavy at times but there was no flooding that i saw and accumulation in gauge was only 0.60”. The worst part was the wind. Several trees and large limbs down in our yard, but no damage to structures. Our power went out at about 1:50 pm and is still out this morning. I had difficulty connecting to web so this report is late, but the gauge was read at 8:00. Beautiful sunny day today to dry things up, but i hope power comes on soon. The newspaper said there were hundreds of thousands without power, so i am not hopeful it will be soon. |

I am now getting enough bars on my cell phone to do that. For several days, I had to travel to get enough bars. There is still the buzzing of generators in the neighborhood. I think our neighborhood is low priority. Plants are starting to dry up again. Water is not plentiful in stores - we have enough to drink and cook with, but since we don’t know how the supply will be, I don’t want to water plants with it. My daughter has city water, so we will go there today to get some. Thank goodness for the generator because ice is also not available, although I think I saw some places had it yesterday. A surprise thunderstorm came through and brought rain at about 8:15 pm. It was over in about 35 minutes, but brought almost half an inch of much needed rain. Yesterday’s temperature reached about 93 degrees. It was about 91 before the storm came and dropped to a very pleasant 73 degrees. All my plants look so much healthier this morning. It is now one week since we have had power. I sure hope they live up to their promise to have everyone up by midnight. |

Rained steadily yesterday until early afternoon. I think there was also another shower during night. This morning is partly sunny and 65 degrees. Very still. There is finally some standing water in our little brook. It has been dry for most of the summer. And walking down in the low part of our lawn it is a little squishy. |

Rain started slowly yesterday about 12:30 and rained on and off. It became more serious in evening and overnight. There were also some strong wind gusts overnight. No signs of flooding where I am, but I am on a hill. There were flood warnings overnight. I don’t even see any standing puddles. I think it all soaked in.
