There has to be a reason. The storms were in the classic Bow Echo configuration and we should have got hail and strong surface winds along with brief heavy rain. Here at my station there was no hail and barely a little rain, 0.01", and a peak wind gust (LOL) of 9.6 mph. Has to be warm, dry air somewhere.

8/11/2020 7:00 AM 0.64 M M M M This turned out to be a Derecho that covered over 900 miles West to East with the highest wind gust of 106 mph in Le Grand,IA. Peak wind gust at this station was 54 mph which was enough to take down a tree on the lot behind me. No damage here. There were some odd things about the storm as it came through. First of all there was no lightning strikes until after the main storm had passed, then smaller garden variety storms passed with the usual lightning and thunder. Also my rain total was much lower then Iwould have thought.
