Amount recorded is the gauge captured during the entire day. The snowfall amount is the accumulation from this AM measurement. During the 15 hours from the end of snowfall, the snow has compacted and ice has formed on the bottom of snow next to the snowboard. Temps this am are in the middle twenties, some wind from SW with mostly clear skies. Not many T or T yesterday, candy hord for the winter. O that today! In my opinion, gauge did not capture all the snowfall because of the strong winds blowing the snow sideways; while the snow settled on snowboard and measurement on that is the true amount of moisture that fell yesterday. |

Very very difficult measurements for this AM observations. Concerned that my gauge caught snow blowing off the roof from the very strong gusty West winds. I can only estimate the amount of snowfall with some areas of yard holding 6 inches or areas showing grass and .5 inches of snow. I recorded what is in the gauge. |
