Light west winds, sunny, and 49° after high of 67° and low of 48°. Appreciate our weather up here. Kentucky and Tennessee had but 5% of their normal rainfall for the last five weeks. The trees have crisp brown leaves, grass is fried, and nearly every day was a scorcher over that period. |

Northeast winds, cold light rain, and 34°. Three-quarters of an inch of slush covers the yard creating a mess with leaves underneath it. Because the funnel to the tube was clogged with the slush, I'm using that figure for melted amount of snow. Over four-tenths of an inch of water lay in the tube and will be added to the other amount to arrive at today's total precipitation. |

Every spring we have one overnight deluge that seems to jump-start the season. From 2300 hours until 0200 hours we got exactly that with all of Mother Nature's best. From looking at the CoCoRaHS map, it seems that the heavy rain rain came through in a very narrow band of perhaps 10-15 miles. High of 65°, low of 36° (0715 , 4/6) and current reading of 54° with light winds from the south. |

On this, the most solemn of Christian holy days, we have clear skies, light northwest winds, and 31° (24-hour low) after below-average high of 50°. High winds, a spit of rain, and snow squalls highlighted yesterday. In over 10 years of volunteering for CoCoRaHS I'd never had wind blow the top of my rain gauge completely off until yesterday when blasts of 50 mph from the northwest turned the trick. Later in the day at 1515 and again at 1900 hours snow arrived horizontally but melted immediately upon hitting the ground. |

Sunny, light west winds, and 59° (24-hour low) after high of 81° that slowly slipped most of the day. Yesterday's precipitation brought us to 0.42" for the first third of June; we're way below average. At mid-morning drove I-80 to Indiana and was caught in fierce storm which made visibility seriously limited. I'll wager that in the hour I motored in Lake County, the rain total was more than we've had through our first ten days of June. |

We heard a funny sound outside and discovered the deck to be wet. By this morning the platform was dry. So much for those predictions of 0.50"-0.75" rain made just 36 hours ago. |
