Overnight early Monday morning began cloudy and colder, with light snow starting around 0200, getting briefly heavier for a few hours prior to sunrise when most of the day’s 1.1 inches fell, with precipitation gradually changing over to freezing rain/drizzle then just rain by the afternoon when temps gradually climbed up into the mid 30s from early morning lows around the freezing mark. At its heaviest the snow stuck to all surfaces including the roads and sidewalks and parking lots. but melted off quickly with the sunrise and the solar radiation that comes through despite the seemingly dense cloud cover. By the end of the day only traces of snow were found in my immediate vicinity, melting off also caused partially by the rain that fell. Dew points rose from the mid 20s at midnight up to just above freezing 24 hours later around midnight observation time.

Overnight early Tuesday morning persisted with Monday’s cloudy, chilly, damp conditions with dense fog developing towards sunrise. Rain was light, with a lot of drizzle accompanying the fog at times. Gradually after mid-day the cloud cover began to lift, and breezes picked up as the cold front rushed in, and whisked the fog and dampness away throughout the afternoon. Temps held in the 30s all day, however, always above freezing so there were no issues of icy streets and the little bit of snow that was left from yesterday completely melted by mid-day, as emperatures had gradually climbed through most of the 30s. Dew points rose to the upper 30s by mid-afternoon, but dropped to around 30 by late evening around midnight observation time.
