caught a deer in my bird feeder just licking up the seeds like it belonged to her. This was the second time I've caught her in the feeder. I don't eat venison any longer but the thought crossed my mind. But my BB gun won't scare her and she can scare me so I guess without snow or rain, I will keep chasing her away. Besides she is beautiful, thos black eyes, the long ears, the greyish coat of hair. Dry outdoors. |

What a month this has been, January in Montana is not one of the warm months and yet it is proving to be the exception to the norm. At 6 am the temperature was a scorching 41° with a very gentle breeze out of the North. Flag barely moving. Little pockets of snow are disappearing quickly. In a few hours, it will be the cold month returning. Wonder if Spring really is in the sidelines ready to advance upon us? Sigh! Have to wait. |

No moisture but smoke very heavy, by 10 AM most all smoke is gone here only the smell lingers. It gets into everything, even inside the car. |

Not much in the sky but what fell as rain is welcome. Smoke cleared from the air here, lingering smells remain. Still sprinkling and hopefully there will be more, especially at the fires. |

Hard to believe. it was 28 outside, frost all over, but not a single grasshopper jumped before me. Yup. Early winter has arrived in Farreltown # 26 The weather now will warm up a bit to Sat and be very warm almost hot again. Last of the rain from yesterday evening and overnight. The breathe able air feels great, no smoke but fires not out, yet. |

Even this lingering smoke is not good, I have a headache and think it is because of the smoke. Last year with fires, I also had a headache. Smoke and me are not buddies. No rain but clouds. |
