A lot going on yesterday! Thunder between 1:26 p.m. & 1:30 p.m. & then a loud clap of thunder at 4:30 p.m.-this just before harder rain & a big storm covered the mountains. There was a lot of wind all afternoon. A dead lodgepole was blown down mid-afternoon. Ice pellets fell about 3:45 p.m. By 5:15 p.m. all was calm & there was a lot of snow in the mountains down to about 5 or 6000'. I measured 0.13" of precipitation at 5:30 p.m. Wind started again at 5:45 p.m. with rain on & off. At 8 p.m. wind & rain increased some. At 8:32 p.m. for 2 minutes there was hail! (See hail report.) At 8:50 p.m. there was hard rain mixed with sleet. At 9:05 p.m. high wind with rain for about 40 minutes. Tree debri was blowing out of the trees-branch tips, cones, moss, etc. I haven't been out yet to see if larger branches were blown down. This morning is 30F, cloudy but clearing with a slight breeze. |

At 11 a.m. it quit snowing & there was 0.2". It started snowing again at 1 p.m. At 3:30 p.m. there was about 1/4" since 1 p.m. (I didn't measure this- just estimated how much had been there before the snow squall.)At about 3:40 p.m. a snow squall hit with blowing snow and heavy snow falling. Visibility was 100' or less. At 3:50 p.m. I measured and there was 0.5" (since 11 a.m.), at 4:10 p.m. after squall was over there was another 0.3". Snow ended for an hour or so & started again before 6 p.m. for another 0.5". Low was 21F, not sure on the high, low 30sF I think. This morning it is snowing, 22F & with a slight breeze. All the snow the last couple of days has been very light & fluffy & settled quite a bit. |

Very windy with stronger gusts until 10:45 a.m. Then mild wind. Rain all morning-finally switching to snow at 11:05 a.m. High wind started again at 11:10 a.m. Precipitation ended at 11:30 a.m. All trees were really swaying. Small branches & tree debri blown out of the trees. Largest branch blown down was 0.4". My scoop shovel was also blown off the porch. Snow stated again at 12:14 p.m. & came in squalls all afternoon. It was very windy all afternoon with stronger gusts at times. Snow ended in the late afternoon. Wind picked up after dark with some strong gusts that shook the house. The last strong gust was about 10:30 p.m. High was 43F early yesterday morning & then dropped to 34F as the wind picked up. It cleared off by 11 p.m. Low last night was 25F. This morning is cloudy & calm. |

It started snowing yesterday just as I was entering my CoCoRaHS report! It snowed all day- heaviest in the late afternoon/early evening. It started out light & fluffy. It started getting heavier in the evening. By 11p.m. it was wet & sticky. There was 4.3" of snow and 0.27" of liquid at 11 p.m. It was still snowing at 2 a.m., but at 4:20 a.m. it was raining. High was 33F at 11 p.m., low was 31F. Currently it is 33F, pouring rain with wind. What a mess! |

Within 10 minutes there was 0.3" of snow. At 6:25 p.m. I measured a total of 1" & visibility was 100 yards! At 6:48 p.m. there was an additional 0.8" and the storm slowed up some. By 7:50 p.m. snow & wind ended & there was an additional 0.4". About 9:20 p.m. snow & wind picked up again & by 10 p.m. all ended again & there was an additional 0.4". Currently it is clear, calm and beautiful! |

There was a little rain 6:56 p.m.-7:05 p.m. & again briefly at 9:05 p.m. & for a few more minutes starting at 9:10 p.m. This resulted in 0.01". Thunder over the Mission Mountains started at 9:38 p.m., along with a lot of lightning. At 9:58 p.m. the storm became very intense at my location: wind & hard rain from all directions, many lightning flashes & very loud thunder. Intensity lasted until 10:10 p.m. and resulted in 0.30" of rain! Light rain continued & lightning moved over the Swan Mountains. Lightning was visible over the Swans until well past 11 p.m. At 10:36 p.m. there was another loud thunder & lightning directly overhead. More rain came in the night. |
