Observation Date Observation Time Precipitation Snowfall Snowfall SWE Snow Depth Snow SWE Notes
10/1/2019 7:30 AM 0.17 M M M M Rain overnight, radar shows it moved out for now, but it appears to be missing some R--. The last bucket tip was reported at 0620. So technically it's still raining, and looks rainy, and more will move through. The start of the rain was equally slow with a Trace around 2130, but first tip at reported at 0210. Weight of wet Japanese beetle in PA Old gauge and water removed with it: 0.22g. No material impact on data. PA Old: 0.17"(33.99g), PA New: 0.17"(33.72), OB: 0.16+"(33.18g)
10/2/2019 7:00 AM 0.12 M M M M About 0.01" in yesterday's AM, real rain today from 0520-0610. PA Old: 0.12"(23.80g), PA New: 0.11+"(23.27g), OB: 0.11"(23.59g).
10/3/2019 7:00 AM 0.03 M M M M Light rain on and off in the afternoon. I wasn't paying enough attention to have times. I didn't bother to weigh the rain gauges, I probably should have.
10/4/2019 7:00 AM 0.10 M M M M Fairly spotty/light rain overnight. Hard to determine start/stop times. A rain drop sensor would be fun. PA Old: 0.10+"(21.34g), PA New: 0.10+"(21.05g), OB: 0.09+"(20.55g).
10/5/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Low temp of 28F.
10/6/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M
10/7/2019 7:00 AM T M M M M I think this happened, but it might be dew. Will have real rain today.
10/8/2019 7:00 AM 0.63 M M M M Slow moving front, rain slow to start (first Davis VP tip reported at 1040). PA Old: 0.63-"(126.00g), PA New: 0.62-"(125.13g), OB: 0.60-"(124.78g)

10/10/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M I might have missed a trace, but I don't think so.

10/17/2019 8:00 AM 2.29 M M M M Look like rain started around 1930, but didn't really get going until 2030. There was likely a bit less that 0.20" between 0700 and 0800. Barometer flattened out at 28.80 inHg for a while, at least through 1100 today. Power out from 0515-0900 or so.
10/18/2019 7:00 AM 0.35 M M M M N.B. this is from 0800 yesterday. From 0700, it would be about 0.55". I overslept in the power outage. So total for the storm of 2.64". That's from PA New funnel and its tube yesterday and an older tube today. PA Old total 2.63 (527g), OB: 2.58"(534g) - not emptied yesterday, those are storm totals. QA is not as great as sub-one inch storms, but note that PA Old's 527/2.63 = 200g/in, the approximate ratio is exact, better than the theoretical!

11/20/2019 7:00 AM 0.43 T M T M There was light rain at the start and mostly stopped in the afternoon, but continuing drizzle and whatnot led to single tips recorded in hours 3, 4, and 7PM. 4/16/2020 7:45 AM 0.01 0.1 M T M I decided I better put out the rain gauges after midnight. Got [barely] measurable snow, probably around 0200 in a brief shower. 7/23/2020 7:00 AM 0.87 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 Raining in the morning, raining in the evening, raining in the summertime. Oh, Sugartime, 1957. Rain from about 0700 to 1100, with a few moments of significance. Then better rain from 2000 to 2300 with a little lightning and occasional downpours, peaking with 0.33" in a 10 minute sample. The center of my precip was just to the south.
7/24/2020 7:00 AM 0.40 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 A couple of showers, early afternoon and late afternoon. The latter had a couple close lightning strikes that seems to have left my WiFi router confused. At first I assumed it was a TDS problem, but eventually realized an ethernet line was doing okay. A power cycle brought the WiFi side back. Then a stray tip/shower at 2000.

7/30/2020 7:30 AM 0.08 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 A small shower came through around midnight with quick 0.07", with 0.06" in the first 10 minutes and 0.01" in the next 10. Then some showers moved through around 0700 with another 0.01" logged by Davis VP at 0710. No, it didn't rain for 7 hours!
7/31/2020 7:00 AM 0.01 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 A brief shower sometime yesterday (I was here, but I forget when!) produced no tips until dew helped this morning. The rain gauge, which doesn't look like dew moved, measured 1.29 grams of precip, so I'm rounding up to 0.01". From the temperature plot, there was narrow 7F drop in air temp and a rise in dew point just before 1400, I'm confident that's when the rain was. Much ado about nearly nothing!

8/5/2020 7:00 AM 0.55 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 Not bad. Fast moving storm, decent wind and rain in the main arm that came through. After many power faults, lost power for 1h40m.

8/9/2020 7:00 AM 0.15 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 I was a bit surprised by a morning rain that brought some 0.14" of rain over an hour. I was even more surprised to hear rain around 2300 that brought another 0.01" (or at least enough for a final bucket tip on the Davis VP.) The NWS point forecast had a 2% chance of precip then, and I think about 2% of the region got a shower.

8/18/2020 7:00 AM 0.03 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 There were scattered showers around since the afternoon, I had 15 seconds or so of a one around 1730, a cell passed just south of me around 1930, but a better developed group came through overnight around 0400. That's the only precip counted in the timings below.

8/20/2020 7:00 AM 0.01 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 Another day of measurable precip, 0.07" in the period. Whoopee. From a couple showers in the area early afternoon, sole bucket tip was at 1530 during the second shower.

8/22/2020 7:00 AM 0.34 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 Spotty Tstrms graced us with one, bringing a welcome third of an inch of rain. Despite the local area being on the edge a severe drought region, we're a lot better off than moderate drought tag earlier in the year in May or June. We've had a occasional light rains that have at least kept the grass green this time.
8/23/2020 7:00 AM 0.08 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 Nice little morning Tstrm that helps keep the drought at bay.
8/24/2020 7:00 AM 0.03 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 Much bluster, little rain. Several decent Tstrms were around last evening, but produced little more than a prolonged period of light rain.
8/25/2020 7:00 AM T 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 Other areas got some real rain.
8/26/2020 7:00 AM 0.25 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 An afternoon cold front washed out the hot and humid air and bought in cool and very dry air in its place. Yay! The dew point dropped from 66F to about 45F this morning.

8/28/2020 7:00 AM 0.08 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 I saw rain at 0915, but the first bucket tip wasn't reported until 1220 when a bigger patch of precip arrived. Things petered off slowly after 1250.
8/29/2020 7:00 AM 0.02 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 Oh good, I woke up before 0700 and checked the gauge right at 0700 as a rainy day that includes some remnants Laura moves in. Radar showed "first echoes" around 0500, but precip likely didn't reach the ground until just before 0600. First and only bucket tip at 0610. Gauge measured 3.22 grams of rain, so about 0.016".
8/30/2020 7:00 AM 1.03 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 (Add 0.02" for storm total.) Two significant rain periods, one from right around 0700 to 1000, the second brief but heavy from 2140 to 2200. The morning period included moisture from the remnants of Laura.
