2020-07-11 6:34pm thunder, sheet lightning, some large drops. At 6:40pm heavy rain, strong west winds, pulling debris out of trash bins, a little up to peas-sized hail for 5 minutes. Water running in gutters, corner flooding up to top of curb. Can’t see more than a half block to the west. Temperature dropped from 80 to 65 in 15 minutes.. Wind blowing rain up street up to 15 feet high. Rain still heavy but lighter than before at 7pm. Can see a couple miles away now. local street corners flooded and about 1.5’ wide running in the gutters. At 7pm lightning overhead and more thunder close to the west. Thunder and lightning moving east at 7:10pm rain lightening up. Very light rain at 7:15pm. Blue sky to the north. 0.27” in the gauge. Think we got more than that. |

3:53pm large drops. 3:58 pm heavy rain from north with strong north wind. Wind and low clouds moving west, high clouds moving east with thunder and sheet lightning. Street and patio flooding. 4:15pm moderate rain, west wind with flooded intersections, north patio, and back lawn. 4:16pm Electricity on and off, thunder and sheet lightning. 4:47 sprinkle, emptied 0.75” from rain gauge. Took core out. 7:00pm no rain. 7:30pm distant thunder. 8:10pm pavement wet, no rain at this time. Another 0.11” at 9am Total 0.86” Had 1.1” in the gauge on the south side, but not a CoCoRaHS. With the wind blowing hard from the north, I tend to believe the gauge on the south side as it is protected from the wind by the bulk of the house, though the gauge is in the middle of the yard.
