This completely submerged the siphons, eliminating the uphill resistance after the intake sections. The intense pressure from the water column above acted as part of the siphon system and restarted flow at 1,125 cubic feet per minute. Today the lake level has been reduced to the top of the weir boards, which are now bowing from both the weight of the siphons and from the pressure of the water they are holding back.
