50.2 degrees and smoky. 97 percent humidity, flat. Not quite as foggy as yesterday morning; visibility is poor, but I can see maybe 75 yards instead of only 50. Winds are still very calm. They've downgraded some evac zones, even some 3s down to 2s, and 2s down to 1, so people can go back into their homes. It's not over, yet, but things are more hopeful today. |

AQ is still a concern, but there is condensation on roof and cars again. Yesterday afternoon we could actually see our shadows! |

There was some thunder (and presumably lightning) last night around 9pm, but not much wind. 58.6 degrees, 99 percent humidity, flat. Seems impossible with that much rainfall, but I could still smell smoke outside. This, despite the light misting of rain or fog in the air. There's lots of cloud cover, but I think some smoke still lingers. The rain during the day yesterday mostly came in heavy waves, downpours that were hard to drive in. By 6pm, there was over .65 in the gauge, so most of the reading accumulated during daylight hours. There was also a lot of thunder and lightning starting around noon, and continuing until at least 5pm. Definite wind during the early moments of the storm (around noon) but I didn't notice any downed branches during my drive home. Very eventful 24 hours. |

Yesterday afternoon was glorious, with blue skies (whatever was in the gauge must have been from early in the day) with little fluffy clouds, a light breeze, and if there was smoke it was too light to see or smell. |

(I have cleaned it after the ash, so there's a possibility it's true. Couldn't really shake it out this morning either, though.) Feels very still and calm this morning, and despite the humidity, the air feels dry. No noticeable dew. The air has been much cleaner lately, too. I think the last rainfall helped even more. The 3 new fires I mentioned yesterday were all put out very quickly. Side note, I did hear rain on the roof right after I submitted the report, so it may be a true trace. |
