Light rain continued yesterday morning before changing to snow around 9:45a. Snow was brief, light, & did not accumulate at first. Became steadier again around 11a, then lightened up considerably & became intermittent 12:30p. Snow had already started melting back around 12:50p so took a quick measurement - deck & snowboard 0.1", nothing left on exposed grass & pavements. Any lingering flakes definitively ended by 1:30p. Any lingering wet surfaces at night began to freeze-up into black ice (primarily my deck - driveway & pavers were damp but wouldn't have been enough moisture to make them icy aside from puddles likely eventually freezing). Discovered a fresh coating of snow on untreated surfaces of my deck at ob time, grass had that pixie dust look to it. Snowboard received a scattered coating. IR shows pot'n snow shower went through ~12:30a. |

Wasnt there for storm start but got back into the boro at 8:50-8:55p and it became a solid, moderate snow. Wasnt sticking much at first except on grasses and colder/shaded surfaces (think like cracks in sidewalks or areas that held onto uncleared snow/ice the longest until finally melting back at some point tuesday). By 9:15p almost everything was covered. Checked at 10:15a and we had a fluffy 1.9” on snowboard (pavements less - measured 1”) and lightly snowing. Measured again at 4a - 3.3”. Settled down to an even 3.0” at obs time. |
