I came up with a new method actually when your rain gauge is frozen over, but you do actually is this, you take your measuring stick, in my case at the broiler, you take it you measure a certain amount of water, in your rain gauge. After that you just wait for it to milk, then you subtract from the ice that is melting into what you have now. it's not totally fail proof, but it does work. another way of doing it is this, just wait until your ice melts. we actually had some Frost, it was a good bit of coverage again I'll end up fileing a frost report. the last bit i'll put here is that the winds are rather Gusty, and the wind chill is bitter. It's not super bitter, but it's getting there. I see our wind chill is currently 10 degrees. that's not super bitter yet, well on the other hand I guess it kind of is. its not swimming weather thats for sure. |

we had rain almost all day yesterday, obviously it wasn't all day, for I put that little clause in there almost. until about 5 o'clock or so. It started probably around 130 maybe two in the afternoon. |

I heard it just starting to rain as I got my shoes on to head outside to check my Rain Gauge, I got outside I'll call it a trace, because it had just started raining. Right when I was getting my shoes on it had just started raining. We need the rain, if you go back and look at my numbers, you'll see why. |

around maybe two or 230 while we were eating dinner there was a rain storm that pushed through with really big raindrops. The kind of rain makes you want to pull over the side of the road set out a storm, yes it was light, but it was really heavy rain drops. Then later on at about 6 o'clock to about seven we had a thunderstorm pass through. |

woke up to the sound of a thunderstorm. I looked at the sounding data and it was obvious why. I am looking for the atmosphere to only continue to destabilize, especially during the peak heating hours between two and five. |

had a few light showers sometimes with those big ole raindrops that even though it's light you just wanna pull over to the side of the road. had some small thunderstorms push through but obviously the numbers indicate it's not much. |

we had some rain pushed through early evening, and also in the afternoon, that was a good bit of rain, and then I was woken up at 2:30 by the sound of a giant thunder clap, rain was coming down, so even in the morning we had a small thunderstorm. the thunderclap was so big it shook the house. |

1.88 inches within 12 hours, that's not to bad considering the conditions. we had several small storms push through here yesterday, some of them brought some heavy rainfall. I have not looked at the latest data, but I would not be surprised to see more of the same today what was the tropical depression Laura, now dispersing falling apart, but we still have a trough pushing in here, not to mention the tropical remnants. If that hits our area today, we're going to have some majorly heavy rain. It could go to our south though. We may not even see it, I'll have to look at newer data. |

this is one of those times I am so glad I am a cocorahs observer, being blind I had no indication that it rain, it was warm enough that it felt dry outside, but when I looked in my Rain Gauge, and I saw that moisture, I said it must've rained last night. So your sighted people can look on a vehicle or on the grass and see the moisture, but if you don't take the time to step in to the grass or maybe the grass is dry like in my case, or touch the top of the vehicle, you don't know that it rained, but that rain gauge, it is always reliable. |
